About the role

We are searching for an exceptional Learning Disability (LD) User Involvement Project Manager to work in our well-regarded learning disability user involvement services. 

The post holder will be responsible for managing the ‘Synergy’ Learning Disability User Involvement Project, supporting and supervising ‘experts by experience’ - learning disability representatives, volunteers and participants - and actively reaching out to the wider Camden learning disability community, reporting their views to Council, NHS and CCG representatives, helping to shape the services people from this community receive.

Key responsibilities

• Support the user-led ethos of the Synergy project, and provide line management, supervision, support, and annual appraisal of the Synergy Reps. This also includes managing volunteers, work experience/internship opportunities, and recruitment to the Synergy project; and processing reward & recognition, salary payments and queries.
• Manage and deliver consultations, training, groups, and workshops that align with local and national priorities, as well as the Advocacy Project’s strategic priorities, feeding this into decision-making forums. This will include involvement in the Camden Planning Together Board, including agenda setting, creating Easy read documents, and supporting the co-chair.
•  Design and conduct consultations, through a variety of methods including interviews, surveys, focus groups, meetings, and forums; with individuals or groups; in person, online, and via telephone or video calls. Collate consultation results and write up evaluation reports.
• Provide regular speaking up opportunities, which might include drop-ins, group meetings, consultations, forums and focus groups as well as one-to-one interviews - addressing any gaps in diversity to ensure a diverse representation of the community are engaging in opportunities.
• Develop effective working relationships with key staff in health and social care and voluntary sector services including carers; working in partnership with them to raise awareness of the Advocacy Project services and to amplify user voice and to shape local and national services.
• Manage the service according to the contract and allocated budgets ensuring they meet agreed standards, monitoring system requirements, service goals and outcomes; and provide accurate and timely project updates and monitoring reports.
• Develop and manage income generation opportunities such as training, awareness sessions, and easy read translation.
•  Work according to the Equality Act 2010 and other forms of legislation that combat discrimination and promote equality and diversity.
• Communicate effectively with people with a learning disability, including people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), using a range of creative approaches – for example, Makaton, intensive interaction and objects of reference - to maximise participation opportunities in line with the Advocacy Project’s Accessible Information Standards.
• Support the Synergy team to participate in recruitment or procurement procedures within but not limited to Camden Council, NHS settings, and NCL CCG.
• Use organisational software and systems to record information that will contribute to the writing of regular reports.
• Keep up to date with developments and good practice guidelines in advocacy and user involvement and of health and social care services/legislation and local and national policy, and priorities relating to people with learning disabilities. This includes co-production, involvement, representation and consultation practices.
• Work with commissioners and key stakeholders to develop effective consultation, involvement, and co-production.
• Attend local, London-wide, and national events and meetings; and support the Synergy Reps and volunteers to attend.
• Work as an active member of the user involvement team - contributing to service planning and development. Where necessary, provide cover within the UI team.

Person specification

Essential qualities and attributes:

• Understanding of the issues faced by people with a learning disability, and recent developments in policy and practice, and health and social care legislation.
• Sound knowledge of services for people with learning disabilities
• Experience of the principles, practice and different approaches to user involvement, including co-production, consultation and speaking up forums.
• Ability to listen, communicate and build trust with people with learning disabilities, including those with high support and complex needs and/or profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), to enable them to express their views and support their inclusion in the development of local, London-wide and National strategy.
• Ability to manage group dynamics, and negotiate/resolve conflicts or disagreements that may arise during group meetings.
• Ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders including commissioners, volunteers, service users and colleagues.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and understanding and experience of using a variety of creative communication methods such as Intensive interaction, Easy read, Makaton, Talking mats, and Objects of reference etc.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to adopt a person-centred approach
• Experience of providing supervision and support to others
• Commitment to working within the Advocacy Project code of conduct, equality and diversity, and safeguarding policies.

• Developing a strategy for the dissemination of the "Family planning and comprehensive abortion care toolkit for the primary health care workforce" and “ICM Competencies” in collaboration with stakeholders. 
• Conducting assessments of FP and CAC competency education and performance gaps.

CXK are recruiting a 2 Project Coaches to work on the ‘Steps to Success’project, delivered in partnership with East Sussex County Council (ESCC).

Funded by the Careers Enterprise Company, this exciting project will deliver a tested model across secondary schools, supporting young people in year 10 to achieve successful pathways post year 11.

The Project Coach will be based within CXK’s Youth Employability Service (YES) and will undertake regular careers-based interventions with young people, supporting them alongside a bespoke work experience placement, organised and overseen by ESCC’s Work Experience team.

We have been awarded a significant grant from the Defra Trees Call to Action Fund for #Defra Heart of England: growing momentum, capacity, skills and trees. In partnership with Stratford-on-Avon, Warwick, and Wychavon District Councils, the Heart of England Forest is leading this three year project to engage with landowners and local communities to increase tree cover across the landscape. Working together to identify suitable areas for trees to be planted, facilitate tree planting, and support woodland maintenance, new woodlands will be created that benefit the environment, boost biodiversity, and provide havens for communities to enjoy.

We are looking for two candidates with widespread experience of project delivery and good team working skills. The successful candidates will work closely with project partners to engage with local communities and larger scale landowners to identify suitable areas for tree planting.  Working with them to understand their needs, you will provide information on different types of planting and support them through the regulatory and funding process.

You will be passionate about landscape-scale conservation and the benefits this brings to both people and wildlife and have a demonstrable track record in successful team working.

The post will be based in the Heart of England Forest head office in Dorsington, but due to the nature of the project  hybrid working will form part of the role.  Each project delivery post has been assigned a particular geographic area – Warwick, Stratford-on-Avon or Wychavon district – and will be expected to travel extensively across their project area. Floating Support Workers in the Westminster Service will be part of a large, dynamic team providing an effective and empowering service to vulnerable clients across a variety of tenures.

You will be responsible for delivering person-centred, psychologically informed support to a range of individuals, with varying needs, to enable them to sustain their tenancy, enhance their wellbeing, build resilience, and achieve their goals and aspirations. The Westminster Floating Support Service is funded by the Westminster Council to provide flexible housing related support in order to enable Clients to continue to live independently within their own home, regardless of tenure type. The service is delivered in a manner that is respectful of service user’s racial, cultural and/or religious backgrounds and respects individual dignity. The support provision operates as part of an overall network of support and care for clients working closely with other professionals involved in the support and care of the individual.

• Understanding of how to support clients to carry out tasks such as budgeting, calculating benefit entitlements and understanding rent arrears and housing options.

The opportunity

CAG networks empower community groups to act towards a more sustainable future, focussing primarily on the areas of reuse, repair, waste reduction, sharing, surplus food, composting and wider biodiversity and sustainability. In 2023/4 CAG Devon expanded its geographic focus, becoming county-wide, and widening its topical focus. You will be coordinating the delivery of the new Community Action Groups (CAG) project in East Devon (see our parent project website, CAG Devon).

A CAG network provides community groups with the tools and support they need to thrive, such as support with governance, guidance, small grants, training and insurance, as well as opportunities for networking and sharing skills with other groups.

As CAG project coordinator for the East Devon area, you will be nurturing and supporting place-based community groups, so location is essential. The successful candidate must live in central or East Devon or be within a reasonable commuting distance of East Devon. Mileage will be paid for travel within the East Devon area.

You will liaise with the contract manager and the local authority representative and have experience and enthusiasm for sustainability, community development and grass roots activities. You’ll be joining a close-knit team, working with the CAG Devon Project Manager and Project Officer, and occasionally with our wider Resource Futures team.

What you will be doing

• Promoting the CAG Project across East Devon:
  • Establishing contact with communities and key people, through networking, attending and speaking at local events, writing posts, blogs and articles, and speaking to groups.
  • Contributing to the CAG Devon website and social media presence.
• Identifying the needs of local groups (with them), including the resources and plans needed to implement their community-based initiatives.
• Providing individual support to assist groups plan and implement their activities:
  • Guiding communities in the development of practical waste reduction and wider biodiversity and sustainability projects.
  • Providing advice on fundraising and project management for these projects.
  • Providing support to community groups and volunteers through identifying and organising appropriate training events, skill sharing sessions and individual support.
  • Supporting groups to engage with and make use of Resource CIT, CAG Devon’s current online monitoring and evaluation tool.
• Ensuring that the work meets the agreed objectives and targets of East Devon District Council and the objectives of the wider CAG Devon contract (with Devon County Council).
• Monitoring project progress and reporting quarterly on progress as well as compiling an end of year summary report, highlighting successes and making recommendations.
• Representing and promoting the project to external bodies as appropriate, acting as a representative for the wider CAG Devon project.
• Any other tasks as deemed appropriate to this post.

About the organisation

nia has been delivering services to women, girls and children who have been subjected to sexual and domestic violence and abuse, including prostitution, since 1975. The organisation has three main aims: to provide services for women, girls and children who have experienced men’s violence; contributing to ending male violence against women and girls, and to inform and influence policy and public awareness.
The Emma Project, Daria House and Jan’s Place are specialist services providing refuge and support services to women who have been subjected to domestic and/or sexual violence and abuse, including women who have been sexually exploited, including through prostitution and who also use substances problematically.

About the post

These posts are currently funded until 31st March 2026 with a possibility of further extension. You will work closely alongside the refuges Team Leader and Service Manager to implement and deliver a trauma informed approach to refuge services.

You’ll have a ‘can-do’ approach and demonstrable commitment to nia’s approach to Prioritising women, upholding and promoting feminist, trauma-informed and anti-racist practice.

• Ensure that the Women on the Front Line (WFL) programme strategy and implementation stages are clearly communicated to stakeholders on regular basis.
• Ensure that Mrs Welby is aware of all developments, decisions and issues, building her suggestions and directions into the planning and outworking's of the WFL work.
• Maintain and proactively lead an effective comms strategy for the WFL work for both internal use and external focus. Including producing a bi-annual newsletter.

• Provide comprehensive understanding of budgets and accounts for the WFL work and be able to participate in, draft and defend funding applications to charitable trusts for funds for future WFL work.
• Organise all administrative support for the WFL international retreats by: supporting visa application processes; negotiating prices of air travel; booking travel; working with in-country supporters to find accommodation and plan / support international WFL stakeholders in joining retreats from countries other than the UK.
• Maintain positive relationships with the largely volunteer WFL committee leaders, ensuring diary commitments for the WFL work are upheld and volunteers are aware of and able to participate in regular meeting cycles and events.
• Responsible for the day-to-day administration of WFL. For example, booking regular WFL meetings, setting up online meetings, taking minutes and actions in meetings, circulating minutes to stakeholders.
• Write reports to senior managers, trusts and funding bodies.

• A salary of £15,567.20 (FTE £38,918) per annum, plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of salary.

Background to School Food Matters

School Food Matters (SFM) exists to teach children about food and to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their time at school. We provide fully funded food education programmes to schools. Our experience delivering these programmes informs and strengthens our campaigns, bringing the voices of children, parents and teachers to government policy. 

Job purpose

· To support the team with the organisation and delivery of all food education programmes

Key tasks include:

· Providing project support to the Senior Partnerships and Programmes Officer and Development Manager in both the office and on-site to deliver SFM’s food education programmes, including gathering quotes and photos on projects

· Creating new and maintaining existing relationships with schools

· Delivering some assemblies and workshops to schools

· Supporting existing relationships with programme partners and funders

· Assisting with grant-giving processes

· Supporting the food education team with the preparation of grant monitoring reports

· Keeping up to date with safeguarding requirements and reporting procedures

About the role and its purpose

We are in a very exciting moment in the development of the Advantage Mentoring by designing a second programme which this post-holder will be responsible for the successful implementation and project and performance management of.

Taking the underpinning principles and approaches of our flagship young person programme in partnership between CCO and CAMHS, we have designed a second programme helping adults signed-off work due to their mental health to improve their overall health and get back to sustainable employment. We will start delivery in September with referrals coming via GP surgeries in Barking, Hackney and Waltham Forest with the programme delivered in partnership with Arsenal in the Community, Leyton Orient Trust and West Ham United Foundation.

The post-holder will be responsible for successfully launching the programme and providing on-going project and performance management, and is accountable for all operational objectives and KPI’s.

Key Performance Indicators

• Project and performance manage the CCOs delivering the programme to achieve all programme objectives

• Oversee monthly Operational Steering Groups with lead personnel from CCOs, DWP and NHS to share good-practice, refine the model and implement upskilling across all areas of the programme

• Support the Managing Director in further building relationships and a strong network with existing and new stakeholders particularly with NHS, CCO and DWP

• Gather data to ensure quality assurance and provide insight and improvement

• Produce and end-of-year evaluation report detailing the programme’s impact and benefits, improvements and how the programme should scale

About the Organisation

Together We Learn is a small international development charity with a vision to break the cycle of poverty in Ethiopia by enabling disadvantaged children to access quality education.

We have been working closely with our Ethiopian partner organisation for over 25 years to achieve this. Our UK team is a small, close- knit team that supports the fundraising, international communications, and project delivery of the Ethiopian team.

Our approach is to work alongside state education infrastructure, addressing a range of needs related to access to and quality of education, as well as children’s wellbeing.

Our work with schools includes school infrastructure projects - providing safe, local schools - and supporting teachers with training and resources to inspire children to flourish in the classroom. We also work closely with the children, their families and communities to understand and address the issues they face at home and how these impact their ability to attend and concentrate in school.

We are at the start of a new strategic phase with a focus on building the capacity of our Ethiopian partner organisation to shift the power and be more locally-led in our work.

Project Coordinator

The Role: The Project Coordinator supports our Ethiopian Projects team deliver, monitor, evaluate and report on our various project activities. The role involves regular communication with both our regional project teams and management, supporting the team to meet project deadlines, driving continual programme improvement through monitoring, evaluation and learning, and supporting the UK Chief Executive with project reporting and funding proposals.

Reports to: Chief Executive
Hours: 15 hours per week (part-time role 40%)
Salary: £8,620 per annum (21,550 pro rata)
Location: London office, preference for hybrid working, remote applications considered, employee must be living in the UK.

Responsibilities

Supporting project delivery (70%)

• Regularly liaising with our project teams in Ethiopia to support them to monitor project deliverables alongside project plans in a timely manner and ensure changes are communicated to relevant parties
• Support with monitoring, evaluation and learning processes by ensuring monitoring and evaluation deadlines are met, collating, analysing and formatting data for review, leading discussions on impact review and supporting discussions for continuous programme development. Including managing office volunteers to support our work in these areas.
• Support the Ethiopian team to track and understand markers of good quality, sustainable projects and to continuously improve upon these.
• Supporting the Ethiopia team to develop projects, applying learning from evaluations and developing new project concepts.
• Supporting the team to include and prioritise beneficiary perspective to lead project design, implementation and monitoring procedures 
• Support the Ethiopian team to develop, include and adhere to all organisational policies and procedures, with special attention to safeguarding.

Fundraising (20%)

• Reporting to donors and funders on project delivery, ensuring deadlines for reporting are met, collating data and Ethiopian team feedback, and writing up funder reports in a timely manner.
• Supporting the Chief Executive to research potential funders and prepare and evidence funding proposals.
• Drafting template funder proposals.
• Occasionally attending funder events
• Support the UK team to communicate with supporters via monitoring the fundraising inbox, liaising with international volunteers, tour guests or other queries.

• Support with building the capacity of the Ethiopian team through working practices and training in relevant areas.

Your work for the MNVP team is in partnership with the NHS, Public Health and other parts of the system to help them hear the diverse voices of service users. You will facilitate projects and workstreams to understand the needs of all communities including African, Caribbean, Asian and other minoritised communities in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. Your role will be to bring together insights and present reports and data so that our services work in partnership to plan, design and improve care You will be confident representing mothers, parents and families by working closely with staff in our Acute Trusts. Your role will include being a source of information for communities, communicating opportunities for them to get involved, using social media and website content, online surveys and face to face focus groups or engagement to do so. This work is offered at 20 hours a week, with some room for flexibility after interview.
