Development Media International (DMI) delivers media campaigns aimed at changing behaviours, promoting health and saving lives in developing countries. Job description
Following a restructure, DMI is looking to recruit a Grants Management Officer. This new role will provide a critical link between DMI’s national teams, HQ staff, and donors. It is an ideal role for somebody wanting to work in international development / public health as you will be exposed to a broad range of tasks and will work across all of DMI’s projects. You will also have exposure to DMI’s Africa Leadership Group, a new committee that aims to exploit the knowledge and experience of our national leadership. To succeed, you will need to be well-organised and a highly proficient writer (in English). You will also need to have the confidence and interpersonal skills to liaise independently with senior staff in the UK and in DMI’s national offices.
More specifically, the Grant Management Officer role will include the following responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Head of Operations, collating, revising, and submitting project reports to donors and other stakeholders. This will require regular collaboration with DMI’s national teams (who will typically draft the reports) and other staff at DMI HQ
- Assisting with the effective and efficient implementation of procurement processes across the organisation, ensuring that goods and services are acquired in accordance with DMI’s and donor’s requirements
- Assisting national teams, and relevant staff at DMI HQ, in ensuring that project activities are in compliance with donor guidelines, contractual obligations, and any relevant statutory or legal constraints
- Ensuring DMI maintains thorough and consistent project documentation
- Helping to ensure effective collaboration between departments at HQ to support project execution by DMI’s national teams
- More general operational support across DMI, this will include routine tasks such as contributing to policy and process reviews, risk management and security, and asset management, as well as ad hoc tasks as required
- Organising and attending in-person convenings of DMI’s Africa Leadership Group, anticipated to take place every 12 months. These are expected to be held outside the UK

Person specification
Required knowledge, skills and experience
- A good degree in a relevant field (international development/relations, public health, social sciences etc), or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong interpersonal and, particularly, written communication skills in English, capable of engaging convincingly and professionally with staff at all levels internally as well as with external stakeholders.
- Well organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Highly proficient IT skills. Competence in routine office applications is essential, experience with relevant specialist software (project management, GIS etc) an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving ability, willing and able to present solutions to operational challenges as well as the challenges themselves.
- The ability to understand different cultural contexts, especially those in sub-Saharan Africa.
- Permission to live and work in the UK.
Desirable knowledge, skills and experience
- Language skills in Portuguese or French.
- Experience of working/volunteering in developing countries, for an NGO, or in international development.

About the role
The main purpose of this role is to develop and deliver our approach to maintain and grow corporate fundraising income, to support our mission to improve mental health in Hampshire. You will join us at an exciting time, having just launched our new three-year strategy, and this role is pivotal in helping us achieve our strategic ambitions in the years ahead.
The role is to lead the corporate fundraising activities for Solent Mind, which have grown significantly over the last five years. This will include maximising support through Charity of the Year relationships and participation in activities, events and challenges in aid of Solent Mind, and by securing one-off gifts in support of Solent Mind. You will research and build our corporate pipeline and support the delivery of our wider employer engagement which covers all aspects of employment engagement including fundraising, training and mental health employer service.
This role is within Solent Mind’s fundraising and external engagement team, and the successful candidate will manage and be supported by the Corporate Fundraising Officer.
About you
You will be an experienced corporate fundraiser or have relevant relationship fundraising or B2B sales experience, together with a proven track record in meeting and exceeding financial and other targets. You will be an effective communicator with excellent written and presentation skills. You should possess good negotiating and influencing skills, as well as excellent relationship management skills, and be highly pro-active and skilled in generating new business leads and moving warm prospects through the ‘sales’ cycle.
You will demonstrate the ability to motivate and develop your direct reports and will ideally have experience supervising both staff and volunteers.

Summary of the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Luminary Limited, an award winning charity supporting women who have experienced multiple disadvantages to achieve independence and employment. The Partnerships & Evaluation Manager plays a key role in helping graduates of our training programme to build confidence and skills and move into work. You will do this by coordinating and expanding opportunities for work experience both with external partners and within Luminary’s social enterprise, Luminary Bakery Ltd. You will lead our mentoring programme, which links volunteers with our graduates to help them for a 6 month mentoring relationship. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
MENTORING:
- Coordinate the Luminary mentoring scheme – recruiting, pairing & managing volunteer mentors to ensure they offer graduates the best possible support for their first steps towards employment & independence

- Delivering training sessions to prepare mentors for their role
PARTNERSHIPS:

About the role
As Communications and Projects Officer – Baby Bank Alliance (BBA), you will have a crucial role in overseeing social, digital, and internal communications for the Baby Bank Alliance and their 170+ member network, as well as supporting other key operational activities.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary, cross-organisational team while collaborating with local communities and grassroots organisations across the UK. The role is ideal for someone with experience in social media, communications, or digital marketing, offering a chance to expand their skills and gain valuable insights into brand building, partnerships, PR, and the charity sector. You will also be part of an innovative, early-stage "start-up" initiative that supports communities and families facing poverty nationwide.
The Communications and Projects Officer will work closely with the Baby Bank Alliance Executive Lead, Communications and Marketing Manager, Community Leads, and broader team to support the delivery of key projects for 2024/25. Additionally, the post-holder will provide project support in areas such as stakeholder engagement, grant approvals, data management, and overall project coordination.
This role will be 60% communications and 40% projects and within that you will:
• Manage the BBA social media channels, creating social media strategies, developing and creating content and monitoring channels.
• To manage the BBA WordPress website with any updates or issues and write the weekly newsletter to the Baby Bank Alliance members & non-members.
• To support the Media Manager with campaigns: e.g. arranging shoots, attending shoots, gathering resources for press releases/media requests.
• To support members of the wider Baby Bank Alliance team with a range of project tasks, where needed.
• To project manage the organisation and co-ordination of events and visits to baby banks, and help to promote and deliver them alongside a range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the development of a new CRM database system, ensuring that data is migrated and captured efficiently to support the daily data management of the growing organization.
About you
To be successful, it is important that you have:
• Experience of using Canva to create content.
• Experience in managing social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn.
• Excellent project coordination skills, with a track record of delivering against targets and objectives.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work through tasks logically, identify risks early, and seek effective resolutions.
• Collaborative mindset, working across boundaries for collective success, actively listening, involving, and learning from others.
• Excellent communication skills: a confidence communicate sensitively with baby bank founders and potentially families and some copywriting experience/ability.

ABOUT DEMOCRACY CLASSROOM
Democracy Classroom is a partnership between over 100 civil society organisations that supports young people to engage in elections and democracy. The network supports collaboration through newsletters, training, meet up’s and an annual conference, as well as providing resources and training for teachers and youth practitioners. Democracy Classroom pools the collective support of the sector through the Democracy Classroom Platform, where teachers and youth workers can access the collective support of the membership.
Following the recent General Election, the network has experienced growth and is now preparing to support upcoming elections, votes at 16 and new developments such as changes to democratic education and the curriculum review. The network is non-partisan and works across all 4 nations in the UK.
The aims of the network include:
Increasing the number of young people engaging with democracy and elections.
Increasing the number of teachers and youth workers delivering democratic education, and strengthening their capacity to deliver impactful democratic engagement and voter registration activities in schools, colleges and youth settings across the UK.
Improving coordination between organisations engaging young people across the youth, education and democracy sectors, through growing the Democracy Classroom network.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The post holder will work with the Director and the Programme Manager of Democracy Classroom to support the growth of the Democracy Classroom network by managing the website / platform. They will:
- Liaise with partners to compile learning resources and training opportunities to share on the platform.
- Add resources, training opportunities and other relevant information to the platform as required.
- Ensure the platform is kept up to date and accessible.
- Support Democracy Classroom communication channels - producing Democracy Classroom newsletters and creating engaging social media content to highlight the work of partners, their learning resources and training opportunities, on the platform.
The post holder will also:
- Coordinate training for teachers and youth workers to deliver election education materials.
- Manage the Democracy Classroom database.
- Assist with monitoring and evaluation.
- Provide administrative support for the Democracy Classroom network and other The Politics Project programmes and activities where required.
The job is based on a 12 month, fixed term contract (including a 6-month probation period), with opportunities for extension.
The Politics Project is based in London, and the post holder will be expected to work from the office at least two days a week. The hours of work are 37.5 hrs per week. Occasional travel to elsewhere in the UK and working unsocial hours in the evenings and at weekends may be required.

We wish to recruit a Project Worker to cover the County of Essex, based both at home and within our central office in Chelmsford. To deliver the work of The Children's Society to children, young people and families around a range of risky behaviors including child sexual exploitation, trafficking, running away, truanting, gangs, risky sexual behaviours, aggressive and challenging behaviours through the use of individual support and group work, thereby ensuring the children and young people and their families live safely and confidently in their communities.
Your experience is key in securing this role: You will need substantial experience in working with vulnerable children and young people either in a paid or unpaid capacity. You will have experience of developing and facilitating groups with young people and delivering one to one support both virtually and face to face in the school, community or home setting.

XLP is a vibrant youth work charity dedicated to shaping bright futures for young people. Leading the charge against poverty and educational failure in inner London, we offer holistic, long-term support to 11 to 25 year olds in both schools and communities.
Over the past eight years XLP has run a nationally recognised mentoring programme which runs in nine London boroughs. These mentoring projects target at risk young people between 11 – 18 who are on the verge of exclusion or excluded from school, at risk of involvement or already involved in crime, and isolated from their communities. The aim is to support these young people and help them see alternatives to what can sometimes seem a hopeless situation.
We’re looking for a Mentoring Manager to join the team to recruit, train, monitor and supervise mentors sourced from the local community in North London. These mentors commit to providing 1-2 hours face to face per week for a minimum of 12 months with their allocated mentee.
This is a hybrid role with approx. 50% of your time being face-to-face. Mondays are based in our central London office.
