About us
Who we are
Viva wants every child everywhere to be safe, thriving and learning – and living life in all its fullness.
We do this by building and supporting networks that unite grassroots churches and organisations to support children in 28 countries.
We believe that we can only effect lasting, systemic change in the care and protection of vulnerable children by working together.
Viva’s model is to connect and build the capacity of churches and organisations to collectively change children’s lives through joint action programmes and increased city-wide influence.
Our culture and values
We understand and share our impact: We know and understand Viva’s strategy, model and the difference we make in children’s lives. We communicate it clearly both internally and externally and we can each tell our own story about how our role is part of this.
We are connected and collaborative: Collaboration is at the heart of who we are – we know that we can achieve more by working together. We find effective and meaningful ways to connect with and listen to our networks, our partners, and one another. We are known for the work we do, and for our willingness to share what we have with others.
We value one another: We are intentional about valuing one another in ways that are meaningful for each of us. This involves getting to know one another so that we can value one another well. We celebrate our successes together, but we also value one another for who we are, beyond what we achieve. We listen to all voices, including those of our partner networks.
We are committed to learning and growing: We take time to recognise what we are learning in our work, and we share what we learn with one another and with a wider audience. We look for opportunities to learn and develop that will enable us to do our best work, reach our own potential, and deliver change for children.
We are focused and fruitful: We focus our energy effectively and prayerfully to ensure our work is fruitful and we are using time well. We regularly reflect and support one another to ensure we are living and working at a sustainable and life-giving pace.
We show integrity and transparency: We consistently do what we say we will do, following through and giving honest and timely feedback. We value input from others, communicate clearly and openly share information.
