About the role

The Research Officer will contribute to the Insights Hub’s qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research.

This role supports the Research and Insights Manager with research projects including our flagship UK Civil Society Almanac, designing and analysing data, writing reports, and presenting findings to diverse stakeholders.

The Research Officer will also coordinate the Research Ethics Committee (REC) work, manage client relationships, and oversee research administration.

As Youth Voice & Engagement Manager, you will work with our Youth Voice Consultant, the team and young people to take a hands-on role in delivering, expanding and embedding these initiatives.

Your Role

Programme Leadership & Delivery

• Coordinate Power UP! - Plan, manage, and deliver activities including youth-led research, grant-making, internships and leadership opportunities.
• Run YEP! (Youth Empowerment Pathway) – Oversee this 3-month, 8-session programme, supporting external facilitators and guiding participants toward deeper engagement with and understanding of YWF.
• Mentor Youth Associates – Recruit, train and support young consultants leading change within YWF and their communities.

Programme Management & Evaluation

• Measure Impact – Work with the Youth Voice Consultant and Evaluation and Data Specialist to use creative evaluation techniques to track the outcomes of Power UP!, ensuring activities lead to meaningful change.
• Manage Logistics – Oversee scheduling, coordination and reporting for all programme activities.
• Manage payments and budgets – manage an activities budget for the YEP! Programme, including overseeing facilitator costs and payments for young people

The Role

We are recruiting for a Community Fundraising Manager to join our Fundraising team. The role will be instrumental in the Foundation’s engagement with different communities and building fundraising partnerships across a range of community audiences, including youth and education, sports clubs, community groups and individuals doing their own activities. You will be responsible for growing our existing community products such as Turn Cricket Red as well as introducing new products and initiatives to generate growth in Community Fundraising. • Oversee relationship with key providers of event fundraising mechanisms such as online donation platforms, auction platforms and text to donate services

• Work with the Head of MarComms and Digital to produce engaging fundraising collateral and information for event and community supporters including pre and post event communications/marketing collateral, working with external production companies where required

• Oversee the use of the CRM system to ensure data is recorded in compliance to Data Protection and GDPR and maximises output for supporter journeys

About the Ruth Strauss Foundation

In early 2018, Ruth Strauss, the wife of Sir Andrew Strauss the former England cricket captain, was diagnosed with an incurable lung cancer that affects non-smokers. Ruth died on December 29th 2018; she was 46 years old and mother to two children, then aged 10 and 13.

About You
The Policy and Engagement Manager is responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of the Society’s growing policy and engagement programme.

This role will report to the Head of Engagement and Storytelling, with managerial responsibilties for the Policy and Engagement Officer, and will have responsibility for leading the development and coordination of key strategic policy and engagement activities, including progressing external scientific and higher education policy for the Society and promoting the importance of engaging in policy-making to members of the Society.

The u3a movement is one of the largest member organisations in the UK with over 400,000 active members. We have an opportunity to join our London based staff team as our Operations Manager. The Operations Manager will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of U3A’s office operations. This role will be responsible for the day to day running of the office and be the lead for HR, Data Protection, Health and Safety as well as managing external IT suppliers.

The postholder will report to the CEO and work closely with senior leadership to ensure the u3a is a professional and well-run organisation. The role will also work closely with the PA to CEO who will be involved in areas such as HR, training and recruitment.

ABOUT US

MaidEnergy is a renewable energy Society, which supports the growth of renewable energy infrastructure projects for the benefit of the local community. Thanks to National Lottery players, we are expanding. 

MaidEnergy supports the growth of locally generated and locally owned renewable energy in Maidenhead, Windsor, Egham, Staines and the surrounding area. We are a community business, democratically run, with an asset lock to preserve the solar panels or other energy generation infrastructure for the benefit of the community.

We launched our first renewable electricity generating community Solar Photovoltaic (PV) share offer in 2015. Since then people have demonstrated their faith in us by investing £970,000. Their investment has funded eight Solar PV installations totalling 640kW and a 60kW Ground Source Heat Pump. These installations have brought low carbon, lower priced renewable energy to public organisations and seen 260 local and national investors join a movement of ethical and financially rewarding community ownership.

MaidEnergy works by:

· Finding community buildings that are interested in cutting carbon emissions

· Raising community finance from people in the local area and throughout the UK, through the issuing and managing of community share schemes, to fund installations

· Providing all relevant legal documents and arranging grid export capability

· Managing the installation and all ongoing maintenance

· Working with sites to maximize financial, environmental, and community benefit

MaidEnergy has achieved all this with volunteer Directors, supported by committed volunteers and specialist contractors as required.   MaidEnergy is part of Community Energy People and is now looking to employ a second co-ordinator to increase our capacity and improve the consistency of our response.

Job Title:  MaidEnergy Project Co-ordinator

Terms:   Probationary 6 month period.  £14,000 for 15hrs per week (£35,000 FTE pro rata).  Working hours can be flexible to fit around an existing role or circumstances.

Role:  This is primarily a remote working role but with the support of MaidEnergy’s experienced team and monthly in-person meetings (usually in Maidenhead).

Post-holder priorities are to assist the MaidEnergy team with the following tasks:

· Support to the Board of Directors

· Monitoring performance of MaidEnergy’s existing estate, liaising with sites, and scheduling routine maintenance and identified repairs.

· Manage stakeholder communications – to members, public, customers, investors, volunteers

· Co-ordinate engagement with volunteers

· Training/ skills development

· People management/ supervision [of second post] and volunteers

Post-holder responsibilities

· Provide regular reports to the MaidEnergy Board on project progress

· Deliver activities efficiently and effectively

· Support the smooth running of projects and positive relationships with clients and stakeholders

Skills and experience

Essential

What You’ll Do

• Develop and Manage: Create customer engagement and retention plans across our customer our segments, working across a portfolio of products such as cash appeals, regular giving, events, and mission-related tools like RevivR (our online CPR training tool).
• Deliver Campaigns: Execute marketing communications, customer journeys, and multi-channel campaigns to meet income and mission targets, on time, within budget, and to agreed KPIs. Upsell, retain, and deepen engagement with existing customers.
• Customer-Centric: Ensure customers feel central to our work and achievements, motivating them to continue supporting our research long-term.

About You:

You’ll have solid experience in direct or integrated marketing roles across several channels, with expertise in analysing data to drive decision-making and optimising performance and engagement (especially direct mail, telemarketing, and email). You will have demonstrable experience managing customer retention marketing or loyalty campaigns in a fast-paced direct marketing team.

To be successful, you will have:

• Experience leading campaign delivery across multiple channels, generating growth and engagement.
• Outstanding planning and project management skills, with a track record of managing projects/campaigns on time and within budget.
• Strong analytical skills, be highly numerate and have experience working with expenditure budgets, including monitoring and reporting on income and expenses.
• Ability to identify opportunities, drive impact, and exceed KPIs.
• Strong interpersonal and confident negotiation skills, with the ability to develop strong working relationships with customers, external suppliers, and internal departments.
• Experience managing multiple external agency relationships.
• Experience with databases and CRM systems (Experience of Adobe and/or other marketing automation systems is desirable).

Working arrangements

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.
