Responsibilities of our Senior Innovation Officer:
- Leading collaborative innovation cycles and sprints using an insight led innovation approach to develop new products and optimise existing activity

Role Overview

THE ROLE
• This is an exciting role co-ordinating project planning and project management of the Woodland Trust’s contribution to the Northern Forest, a landscape scale partnership stretching from Liverpool to Hull, and one of the Woodland Trust’s key focus areas, called Treescapes, in the UK.
• You will help build detailed project proposals and facilitate funding bids to support Woodland Trust delivery of the Northern Forest.
• Act as WT account manager with Defra for the Northern Forest Nature for Climate Fund woodland creation programme and other relevant funded programmes, overseeing and preparing associated reporting to funders, and associated project management processes.
• Responsible for coordinating project management of the WT Northern Forest Treescape plan.
• Deliver pro-active and positive internal and external stakeholder engagement and communication, building and maintaining effective relationships.
• Ensuring that organisational goals, in particular those of WT’s 2030 Strategy are maximised through the Northern Forest in the context of complex and wide-ranging external partnership arrangements.
• Travel to and from the Northern Forest will be required.

THE CANDIDATE
• You will have experience in all stages of project co-ordination and project management, taking complex cross functional projects from inception to implementation, review and evaluation, together with experience of project management frameworks, for example Prince 2

Veterans Outreach Support (VOS) is an award-winning charity that offers welfare, wellbeing and mental health support and services to veterans of the UK Armed Forces and Merchant Navy in Portsmouth, Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight. They provide a Drop-In model of support, a welfare advice service, a range of peer-supported wellbeing activities and social groups, and access to psychology, psychiatry, and therapy services.
VOS has secured additional funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust to continue the work of the Thrive Together programme (formerly VPPP) in the South East, which is designed to bring together a network of veterans’ support agencies that will take an informed approach across the South East region to ensure that there are connected pathways, which work well for veterans; that there are safe places for veterans to go, which connect into these pathways; and that volunteers and staff who support veterans have access to training and work closely with other organisations within veterans’ mental health pathways.
The Families and Carers Project Manager will work with the Thrive Together Portfolio Manager, Partners, and members of the VOS core team to explore the challenges of reaching out to families and carers of veterans, many of whom may be unaware that they are entitled to support and to make recommendations as to how this might be improved.

Background to School Food Matters
School Food Matters (SFM) exists to teach children about food and to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their time at school. We provide fully funded food education programmes to schools. Our experience delivering these programmes informs and strengthens our campaigns, bringing the voices of children, parents and teachers to government policy.
Young Marketeers
This much-loved programme was started in London in 2012. It is now running in 12 cities across England and is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund for three years. The programme provides hands-on opportunities for children from primary schools to grow fruit and veg from seed to sell at their local market. Young Marketeers is also a platform for School Food Matters to promote food education to schools and communities as a way to support children to live happy and healthy lives. Children learn the art of growing veg from seed, and market traders will share their secrets on how to create a winning market stall. Primary schools will be visited by our gardener in March/April and then again in May/June and receive further tips on how to ensure a bumper crop. And in July, they head to the market to sell their produce, and to meet the mayor!
Key Tasks include:
· Recruit four schools to take part in Young Marketeers
· Build and maintain relationships with teachers, teaching assistants and senior leaders to ensure the smooth running of the project

The service is staffed 24 hours a day with a support team, night team and management based onsite. The service aims to support residents into independent accommodation through life skills support. In delivering the role, you will report to the Supported Housing Manager and be responsible for:
Service Provision: Supporting the Supported Housing Manager with the daily operations of the services so that they meet the requirements of the service specification including compliance with the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) and Ofsted regulations. Oversee the residents’ referral, interview and induction processes for all beds and ensure the Occupancy Agreements and House Rules are fully understood. Ensure the quality of accommodation that is provided, liaising with the Housing and Property Services team to complete estate inspections and health & safety risk assessments, and to turn around voids and organise repairs in line with organisational targets and statutory obligations. With the Supported Housing Manager ensure effective income collection for all beds, working closely with the Rents team to create a rent payment culture.
Leadership and People Management: Directly line manage team members, ensuring their service delivery, working culture and personal development mirror best practice. This much-loved programme was started in London in 2012. It is now running in 12 cities across England and is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund for three years. The programme provides hands-on opportunities for children from primary schools to grow fruit and veg from seed to sell at their local market. Young Marketeers is also a platform for School Food Matters to promote food education to schools and communities as a way to support children to live happy and healthy lives. Children learn the art of growing veg from seed, and market traders will share their secrets on how to create a winning market stall. Primary schools will be visited by our gardener in March/April and then again in May/June and receive further tips on how to ensure a bumper crop. And in July, they head to the market to sell their produce, and to meet the mayor!

The role of the Community Development (Wales) is both to inspire and facilitate the CILIP Cymru Wales Committee and to work on other important initiatives. The Network Services Manager builds and maintains network-facing central services that are effective and dynamic, evolving in line with members’ requirements.
