The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of developing countries to evaluate solar radiation management geoengineering (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that developing countries should be empowered to conduct their own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions. The initiative has been working in different forms for over a decade and our work receives worldwide coverage and widespread acclaim.   

We seek a Communications Manager to work closely with the Degrees team, the researchers we support in the Global South, and our stakeholders around the world to further raise our profile - initially focusing on the specialist SRM expert community but over time expanding to the broader climate science and policy arena. 

The right candidate will manage a multifaceted comms operation that will: 

• promote the work and achievements of Degrees, especially by raising our public profile in the media; 

• support and promote the Global South researchers whom we fund and their SRM research projects; 

• promote an understanding of why Global South experts must be at the centre of SRM discussions; 

• support the organisation’s engagement with diverse stakeholders across the globe; 

• manage the Communications and Programmes Officer.

About the role

Your key purpose will be to lead the Assistant Shop Manager and a team of volunteers to maximise sales, deliver excellent customer service and ensure that the shop premises and assets are maintained to a high standard, according to legal requirements and Shooting Star Children’s Hospices (SSCH) policies and procedures.

About you

This role requires experience of line managing employees, experience in managing a shop including knowledge of retail and health and safety legislation and administrative/cash handling experience.

You will also have an ability to deal with customers and maintaining a high level of customer service, have good verbal, written communication skills, as well as being comfortable using IT and EPOS reporting. You will have an ability to motivate yourself and others, have excellent organisational skills and be comfortable working  under pressure and dealing with changing priorities.

Founded in 2012 we are a UK charity that provide support, advice and information to patients and their loved ones who are affected by cancers of the head, mouth, neck, chest, and those throat cancers caused by the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). We also campaign for universal HPV vaccination to prevent any future devastating throat cancer cases. Raising awareness of HPV and how it causes throat cancers has been and continues to be a large part of our work.

About the role

The successful applicant will work closely with the CEO, the management team, and Trustees to implement, develop and deliver a fundraising strategy that meets the charity’s challenging income targets. This post will play a vital role in helping us to deliver our range of throat cancer support programmes to patients, families, as well as to medical professionals and the scientific research sectors. This is a unique and challenging role, which will see the successful applicant working on a variety of projects at any one time, whilst working under pressure to deliver results. It is therefore important that anyone in that role has great communication skills as well as experience of managing fundraising events on a nationwide scale.

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Fundraising duties as required.
• Be the customer service face for all fundraisers and fundraising activities.

• Work with the Business Development Manager and CEO to develop key messages, briefings, and positioning statements to ensure consistency and maximise the impact of our work

• Working across the charity and externally, to significantly grow both volunteer numbers and activity.
• Develop the way we speak about volunteering, our brand, and associated materials, in order to attract more volunteers with the skills we need.

Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme at HMP New Hall, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Dementia UK has entered into an exciting three-year corporate partnership with a national partner to bring face-to-face Admiral Nursing to the high street at locations across the UK.

As part of the national Clinics Programme Team, you will provide in-person biopsychosocial support and advice, sharing your specialist dementia nursing expertise to help families manage the complexities of the condition. As this unique nursing role offers you the opportunity to travel within your defined region, which may include some overnight stays, flexibility will be essential. When not delivering face-to-face clinics, you will work from home, which may include providing support on our Admiral Nurse Helpline.

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver the Marketing & Communications strategy. Work with the Director of Fundraising and Marketing Consultant to contribute to the development of the the Marketing and Communications Strategy. Lead the delivery of the strategy, track progress and report risks and opportunities to senior leadership team.
• Brand management and development. Maintain and evolve the charity's brand identity. Ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
• Social media management. Plan, schedule and create content for multiple channels. Ensure timely publication and distribution of content. Develop and manage social media content and campaigns. Monitor social media engagement and analytics to refine campaigns.
• Digital marketing. Lead the development of all digital marketing to achieve audience reach and income targets.
• Analytics & analysis. Track and analyse the performance of campaigns by monitoring relevant analytics. Use data to adjust strategies and improve outcomes. Conduct regular competitor analysis to ensure we maximise reach. Develop routine end of campaign analytical reviews and reports.
• Stakeholder Engagement. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including ambassadors and celebrity patrons, providing them with all the assets and materials they need. Develop strategies for stakeholder communication and engagement. Work with partners to create mutually beneficial communications strategies.
• MarComms Advisory Panel Engagement. Engage with our voluntary MarComms Advisory Panel of experts to maximise success of our strategy.
• Graphic Design. Using design software, create promotional and programme delivery materials such as brochures, posters, challenge event packs and social media graphics in line with brand guidelines. Create visual content for all digital platforms.
• Video Content Creation. Conduct interviews with beneficiaries on camera to capture their stories. Edit video footage optimising for use in large-scale event films and for social media content. Develop engaging video content to promote the charity's mission and activities.
• Copywriting & Copy Editing. Write and edit inspiring and engaging content for various digital platforms including website, e-newsletters, and social media. Develop compelling stories and case studies to highlight the charity's impact. Write press releases where appropriate and quarterly ‘Supporter Updates’ for major donors.
• Website Management. Oversee the development of a new website. Update and maintain the charity's website content in line with best SEO practice. Ensure integrations are working correctly i.e. website is correctly integrated with Zapier and is pulling through subscribers to Mailchimp.
• Internal Communications. Develop engaging staff communications and opportunities to share successes and drive motivation amongst staff. Seek new opportunities to share information team-wide.
• Integrated digital processes. Maximise efficiency by building integrated digital systems and processes wherever possible.

About the role

Our Operations team are the people behind the scenes that enable Nordoff and Robbins to function day-to-day. We cover all the essentials such as facilities, health and safety, finance, and IT/systems support.

As an Operations and IT Manager you will play an important role in keeping our music therapy facilities, IT and health and safety functioning charity wide.  We’re looking for someone who has excellent task-management skills, is responsive, has strong technical skills and has a can-do attitude. You’ll report into the Director of Finance and Operations and people lead the Facilities Co-ordinator, and together you will oversee the smooth operations of the London Centre.

Don’t worry, you don’t need to be musical, but you do need to be able to spin numerous plates on a day-to-day basis, working with colleagues, clients and contractors right across our London Centre to keep things running ship-shape.

The role:

We believe Street Child has a huge opportunity to achieve even more growth in the Corporate Partnerships sector by diversifying our coverage and relationships into new industries and growth markets. The New Business Manager role will play a key role in leading our New Business activity outside of our existing portfolio. Reporting to our recently appointed Senior Manager for Partnership and New Business, your role will involve:

1. Core New Business activity: Researching and development of prospect lists for priority industries to implement New Business campaigns capable of securing multi-year high value partnerships. Responsibility for building Street Child’s network of corporate relationships and growing pipeline of corporate partnership opportunities.

2. Partnership and proposition development: Working closely with our colleagues in the Corporate Partnerships and Global Programme Funding teams to develop engaging and impactful partnership plans and project propositions, focusing on priority countries and programmes to support Street Child’s strategy and mission.

3. Corporate engagement with events: Utilising the portfolio of events Street Child has across the year to engage and steward corporate relationships, including Street Child owned events and external events including the World Economic Forum and UN General Assembly.

4. Supporting on cross-organisational fundraising activations: Leading on new corporate engagement activities, including new fundraising and sponsorship activations, to support cross-organisational initiatives including our Spring Gala, annual Back to School Campaign and other key milestones throughout the year.

Key activities in this role:

• Development of New Business engagement plans – identifying, researching, engaging and cultivating new corporate prospects and relationships;
• Implementing ambitious New Business campaigns to target priority industries, including the oversight of prospecting and marketing mapping activity;
• Management of new business pipeline and prospect lists, including use and maintenance of corporate prospects data on CRM;
• Close collaboration with Partnership Development and Account Management teams to promote best practice corporate donor stewardship and partnership delivery;
• Active networking and attending various international events to maximise New Business opportunities;
• Consistent, proactive New Business activity via Street Child networks and cold approaches;
• Searching for suitable open corporate partnership opportunities/calls to apply to and working with colleagues to submit high quality applications;
• Supporting our corporate advocacy events, including inviting new corporate attendees for Street Child events - and working with colleagues to help plan/strategise Street Child presence as appropriate (including Davos, UNGA);
• Working with colleagues to develop our corporate propositions – both fundraising products and exciting, innovative new project proposals alongside our Programme Funding teams.

Job Title: West Yorkshire Full-time Maths Tutor

Reporting to:  West Yorkshire Programme Manager

Responsible for: Delivery of academic intervention in Maths to pupils in educational environments for Tutor Trust

Location: West Yorkshire

Salary: £24,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a full-time position (40 hours across seven days a week)

Job Purpose: Main Duties and Responsibilities:

· To plan and deliver tuition to primary/secondary school aged pupils (from 9-16 years old) across West Yorkshire in Maths on a 1:1 to 1:4 ratio.

· To complete appropriate paperwork relating to tuition with pupil (register, feedback sheets, etc.)

· To liaise with the West Yorkshire Programmes team and the quality team.

· To undergo any appropriate training throughout the role to enhance the quality and impact of tutoring delivery.

· To support other tutors as appropriate.

· To be involved in Tutor Trust tutorials and training where required.

          To follow all Tutor Trust/school safeguarding policies and procedures.

Person Specification – skills and attributes

· One year of tutoring experience required or QTS.

· Ability to tutor Maths to a standard desirable.

· Bright, enthusiastic, and well-motivated tutor confident in dealing with young people.

· Robust and resilient character with excellent time-management skills.

· Must have achieved a minimum of Grade B/6 at GCSE in Maths and English.

· Demonstrate a commitment to the goals and ethos behind The Tutor Trust.

· Enthusiasm and ability to contribute to the successful development of The Tutor Trust.

· Understanding of the National Curriculum, GCSE syllabus and have a broad understanding of policy issues and educational best practice relating to improving pupil achievement at KS2, KS3 and KS4.

· The ability to work with children from complex backgrounds and with complex needs.

· Access to a full driving licence and car is desirable, but not essential.

General

The West Yorkshire team is based in central Leeds offices however, there is the opportunity for hybrid/remote working. The job is a full-time, position with frequent travel required across the West Yorkshire Region to deliver tuition.  All reasonable travel expenses on Tutor Trust business will be reimbursed (not including your regular commute from home to the Tutor Trust office). 

Holiday entitlement will be 33 days per annum (inclusive of Bank Holidays, pro rata). The role will involve working occasional unsocial hours in the evenings and at weekends. 

Tutor Trust is signed up to the Government-backed NEST pensions scheme, which is offered to our employees (with an employer contribution) after the qualifying period.

The role

We are seeking an exceptional Associate Director of Programme and Impact to join the Centre for Early Childhood senior leadership team. Reporting to the Centre’s Executive Director, and working closely with Royal Foundation and Kensington Palace teams, you will play a key role in designing and implementing our ambitious programme of work to drive action on the extraordinary impact of early childhood.

You will combine optimistic and creative leadership, with a rigorous, collaborative and hands-on approach, to support the delivery of existing programmes and the design of new ideas from concept to launch. This will involve working with stakeholders from right across the system around children and the adults in their lives, including health, education, business, and voluntary and community sectors.

The role requires cross-sector experience, broad subject-matter expertise, and an ability to make sense of a complex evidence and policy landscape for a range of audiences - to support strategic decision-making and prioritisation, as well as to ensure the quality of our day-to-day work. You will provide sound counsel to internal and senior stakeholders, and be a trusted, credible voice when engaging externally.

You will provide expert oversight of the Centre’s research plans and activities, ensuring our programme of work is evidence-informed and that we can evaluate our impact. About us at the NCT

A lot of people know NCT for our antenatal classes, and we want to continue to support as many parents and families as we can to access evidence-based information. But we are also much more than this. We are a charity that campaigns on the issues that matter to parents. We run breastfeeding and infant feeding support, provided by specialist counsellors. We run thousands of free community activities and events across the UK, led by our fantastic volunteers and peers. And we support women and families facing specific challenges, such as social isolation, feeding difficulties or poor mental health.

We are delighted to be commissioned to deliver infant feeding peer support within Newham’s diverse community. Working in partnership with local infant feeding teams, health visiting and midwifery teams, children centres and volunteer and charity organisations to ensure all parents are able to access the support they need. The post holder is responsible for the recruitment, coordination, support and management of a diverse team of infant feeding peer supporter volunteers across the borough, working in collaboration with NCT’s established perinatal peer support work within the borough.

Responsible for the managerial oversight of the Infant Feeding community peer support across Newham, this role will work with diverse and vulnerable groups and make a positive difference by supporting families  who experience barriers to accessing support and social isolation in pregnancy and postnatally with feeding their baby.

About the Role

 Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

· Responsible for the recruitment, coordination, support and management of a diverse team of infant feeding peer supporter volunteers.

· Establishing and maintaining a good working knowledge and understanding of the local demographics of parents in the area, including local volunteer, charity and faith support services and projects working with vulnerable and marginalised communities.

· Working in collaboration with NCT’s currently established perinatal peer support work within the borough, local infant feeding teams and early years services to ensure all parents can access the support they need.

· Report progress on project status, timelines and delivery against key performance indicators.

· Participate in local networking/task and finish projects, so that the programme is an integral part of the local infant feeding provision

· Be able to travel around the area to meetings and groups.

You must have excellent communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. You must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently.

Being able to make decisions and respond appropriately to our commissioners, staff, peer supporters and parents and other external stakeholders is essential, alongside good IT skills– including Outlook, Word and Excel – and you must have good attention to detail.
 
The role is 28 hours per week which will be predominantly Monday to Friday within the working day, however, will include occasional evening and weekends. This is largely a community-based role with some home working
