The Public Affairs Manager will be a key member of our busy External Affairs Team within the wider Policy and External Affairs directorate.

Reporting to the joint Heads of Public Affairs & Stakeholder Relations, and working closely with communications and public policy colleagues, you will play an essential role in enabling and driving engagement with parliamentary, government, political and sector stakeholders.

You will be politically astute, with experience engaging across Westminster and Whitehall with competent written and communication skills, able to both brief and prepare senior leaders within the organisation for key engagement activities as well as meeting stakeholders independently as appropriate.

Strong organisational, people and project management skills are essential; you will be responsible for managing dedicated key influencing ‘moments’ with stakeholders and partners, such as organising and managing panel events, roundtables, webinars and showcase programme visits. You will also lead the co-ordination and secretariat activity for the Youth Employment Group (YEG), working closely with the Director of Policy and External Affairs as one of the five co-chairs.

This role can be based at any of our hubs located in Birmingham, Leeds or London. We currently operate a hybrid model of two-days per week in the office and three-days from home.

We need a confident research specialist who is credible and can lead an effective work research and community engagement programme relevant to meeting the needs of local communities and informing change to policy and practice of health and social care services.

Job Purpose:

A core element of Healthwatch NN’s work is the management of research, collection, analysis, and subsequent reporting on information and data relating to people's experiences of publicly funded health and social care services. The Research and Community Engagement Manager is responsible for overseeing this crucial function, ensuring its effective delivery.

In addition to managing research activities, the Research and Community Engagement Manager takes the lead in developing and executing the CRM system. Furthermore, they spearhead the creation of impact measures for the organisation, ensuring that our efforts are aligned with our mission to improve health and social care services in North Northamptonshire.

Our aim is to raise awareness amongst commissioners, providers and other agencies about the importance of engaging with communities, and the expertise and value that individuals can bring to discussion and decision making on local and national issues.

We hope to carry out activities across a number of different programme areas to enable us to fulfil our statutory functions and the Research and Community Engagement Manager will be responsible for:

· By capturing community views through people’s experiences and by understanding and reporting on these experiences to health and social care services.

· By actively promoting community involvement in the commissioning, provision and scrutiny of health and social services, giving people and communities a stronger voice to influence and challenge how health and social care services are provided within their locality.

· By undertaking community-led research in priority areas to examine the impact of health and social care services, its pathways and make any recommendations for change.

· Healthwatch can monitor and review how local services are planned and run (except for social care facilities for children and young people) and have the statutory power to ‘Enter and View’ premises delivering health and social care services. This enables authorised representatives of Healthwatch to observe the nature and quality of services, report on their findings and make recommendations so that local authorities and health services can exercise their duty to respond. 

· By providing Information & Signposting Service to help people understand the services available in their local area and to make informed choices about different health and social care services.

KEY TASKS:

To work closely with the Healthwatch Service Manager, Healthwatch NN Advisory Group and the Support Northamptonshire’s CEO to:

Main duties and responsibilities

· Organise, design and carry out participatory qualitative fieldwork. 

· Designing peer-research models of social research investigation.

· Conducting qualitative analysis of data conducted through interviews, focus groups, workshops or other methods, with a focus on lesser heard voices.

· Carrying out quantitative data analysis using Excel.

· Utilising a wide variety of research approaches, particularly participatory approaches, which inform, involve and bring together individuals, groups, service providers and decision makers.

Research and analysis

· Lead and oversee the delivery of the annual research programme, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.

· Utilise creative and appropriate methodologies to design and manage research projects, employing both quantitative and qualitative methods.

· Apply various research techniques, including document analysis, surveys, focus groups, interviews, and case studies, to gather relevant information.

· Produce research-based briefings and provide support to stakeholders in understanding key points.

· Analyse and evaluate research findings, interpreting data to identify key issues and develop actionable recommendations.

· Present research data in formats suitable for different audiences, including reports and infographics.

· Collaborate with CEO and team to gain insight into themes identified through community-based activities.

· Support in developing engagement activities based on service user feedback and intelligence.

· Identify simple interventions that Healthwatch NN can implement to impact service improvement.

· Develop an impact reporting system to measure and communicate Healthwatch NNl's impact effectively.

· Liaise with admin regarding information requests, research promotion, and evidence collection from web and social media.

· Analyse the Healthwatch NN database to produce representation reports for commissioners, providers, stakeholders, and the Executive Board, informing them of current trends.

· Provide regular performance reports for the Advisory group.

· Produce reports from the Healthwatch NN database for multidisciplinary boards such as the Health and Wellbeing Board, Joint Strategic Needs Assessment, Overview and Scrutiny Committee etc.

Team working

· Train and support people to take on peer research roles, putting control and ownership of the research process with people interested in and affected by health and social care services. 

· Support those actively involved in Healthwatch NN to develop a shared understanding of the implications of gaps in involvement of people from different communities.

In consultation with the Healthwatch NN Service Manager and Support Northamptonshire CEO:

· Represent Healthwatch NN at strategic meetings, conferences and public engagement events as required, acting as a spokesperson for Healthwatch NN at such events.

· Deliver presentations to the public, stakeholders and partner organisations. 

· Engage with the Healthwatch network, and health and social care system partners across Northamptonshire and neighbouring area as appropriate. 

The Programme Officer (Research) will play an integral role in the Impact team within the broader Directorate of Impact and External Affairs. This is a pivotal time for Fight for Sight as we begin to implement our Impact Framework enabling us to communicate the impact of our extensive portfolio of current and past funded research projects to our internal and external audiences.

The role is diverse and varied, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to build their exposure to a complement of research management activities. In addition to assisting with the implementation of the Impact Framework they will be instrumental in the delivery of our grant funding processes and will have the opportunity to work closely with our Research Grant Assessment Panel and key partners to ensure we achieve the exciting ambitions laid out in our Research Strategy.

• Efficiently and effectively managing multiple annual grant award cycles taking responsibility for peer review processes and Panel meetings.

Programme Officer

We are looking for a Programme Officer to join this charitable programme based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus with a mission of working in partnership to improve healthcare globally.

We’re redeveloping one of the most respected radiology e-learning programmes in the world — R-ITI — and we need a driven, strategic and organised Project Manager to bring it to life.

In this 18-month fixed-term role, you’ll oversee the full lifecycle of over 300 digital learning modules. You’ll collaborate with the Learning Development Manager, the Learning Technologist and the e-learning faculty comprising Subject Matter Experts (SMEs – who are doctors) while undertaking the project to relaunch these essential resources on our new Learning Management System (LMS).

• Oversee the entire life cycle of selected R-ITI modules marked for redevelopment, from establishing SME groups to review and update content, to working with learning technology colleagues to produce and publish them on time and within budget on RCR’s LMS.

Overall purpose of the role

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for delivering exceptional communications to enhance Orbis UK's profile in both the UK and the Middle East. The position is responsible for implementing strategic plans for UK and Middle East audiences, while supporting the Media and PR Manager in boosting Orbis UK's brand presence. The role also includes leading reputation and crisis management responses and plans.

The Media and PR Manager reports directly to this position, and together, they will collaborate to deliver effective communications plans. There will also be opportunities to work with the wider Orbis UK communications team on cross-departmental campaigns, appeals, and events, including VIP visits and integrated marketing campaigns.

This role encompasses communications planning, media relations, stakeholder management, reputation management, copywriting, and at times, event coordination. It requires strong relationship-building skills and the ability to manage projects across different teams and countries. The role is responsible for three key areas of work:

i) Overseeing the delivery of the media and PR strategy to increase brand awareness of Orbis within the UK and the Middle East through pitching and placement of high-quality media coverage, proactive PR initiatives and reactive press office opportunities within a range of publications that align with our target audiences and partnerships. This will include managing the Media and PR Manager, working with key stakeholders such as the Royal Press Office and key funding and programme partners, and supporting delivery of Orbis UK integrated marketing campaigns

About Equal Power Equal Voice

The Equal Power Equal Voice (EPEV) programme provides mentoring, training and peer-networking opportunities to ethnic minority people, LGBTQ+ people, disabled people, women and people with any combination of these identities across Wales. This important and unique programme is delivered in a strong and established partnership with Disability Wales, Ethnic Youth Support Team (EYST), Stonewall Cymru and Women’s Equality Network (WEN) Wales.

The EPEV programme aims to ensure more diverse representation in politics and public life by strengthening the knowledge and skills of those who aspire to be there, while learning from and being supported by those who have achieved positions of power, influence and authority in the face of these challenges.

You will build on the success of the previous EPEV programme cycle, which ran between 2021-2024. They will bring enthusiasm and innovation to ensure the next EPEV programme cycle (2025-2028) is efficient and effective and provides the best possible experience to mentees and mentors, paving a direct route to seeing greater diversity in political and public life in Wales.

The EPEV programme is made possible through funding from the Welsh Government and The National Lottery.

This role is part of a collaborative effort, with Programme Co-ordinators being based at each of the partner organisations.

About the Role:

The Programme Co-ordinator will work alongside similar post-holders at Disability Wales, EYST and Stonewall Cymru, and will support WEN’s Programmes Manager to deliver in partnership the Equal Power Equal Voice programme. You will lead on recruiting and supporting the cohort of approximately 25 pairs of mentees and mentors from your organisation. You will support the Programmes Manager in delivering all events within the programme and will attend events online and in person across Wales, and approximately once a year in London.

With a proven track record of delivering projects, you will be dynamic, organised, a good communicator and able to connect people to help them achieve their goals. You will be extremely motivated, able to work on your own initiative and be ready to join a high-performing yet fun and supportive team who are all committed to equality.

Key Objectives of the Role are:

• Working with your cohort of mentees to enable them to access the learning programme, benefit from the peer–to–peer support group and from the relationship with their mentor.
• Supporting the Programmes Manager in delivery of a successful mentoring programme according to the project plan.

Main Tasks will include, but not be limited to:

Project Organisation and Delivery

• Supporting the Programmes Manager in setting up all systems and lead the recruitment of mentees and mentors from your organisation’s networks
• Matching the mentees to appropriate mentors
• Supporting the organisation of the training events and training sessions by sourcing appropriate speakers, organising online sessions and / or physical events
• Organising the peer-to-peer support group for your cohort of mentees
• Working with partners and the Programmes Manager to recruit, liaise with, and keep central register of all possible mentors and support those mentor for your organisation’s cohort
• Keeping records of all achievements of mentees as they progress, checking in with them regularly on their learning journey
• Giving support to Mentees, as needed, on a case by case basis
• Contributing to quarterly reporting and evaluation

Partnership Liaison

• Liaising with the three other Project Co-ordinators and the Programmes Manager to ensure the programme is delivered effectively
• Networking widely across the public and third sectors to promote the programme and identify opportunities relevant to it

External communications

• Being an ambassador for the programme, speaking at events where appropriate
• Liaising with the WEN Communications and Engagement Officer to help publicise EPEV

General Responsibilities and Duties

• Conducting the duties of the job description in accordance with the operational policies of WEN Wales and of the EPEV programme, including but not limited to: the safeguarding policy, diversity policy, social media policy, data protection policies, home working and other policies.
• Maintaining good with all stakeholders, including staff, mentors, mentees, volunteers, Directors / Trustees, partner organisations and Members.
• Contributing to the general administration and delivery of all programmes of WEN Wales, as required.
• Undertaking any other reasonable duties as may be required by the role.

We are looking for three new Funding Officers  to join our passionate and friendly team in Northern Ireland.

1. One Full Time Permanent Funding Officer to be part of our North Western Team which covers the following Council areas: Derry City and Strabane, Fermanagh and Omagh, Mid and East Antrim, and Causeway Coast and Glens. The North Western Team is led by a Funding Manager and is comprised of five other Funding Officers . Your role will be to cover the Causeway Coast and Glens area, and to work across all of these council areas as needed to support the demands of our funding programmes. You will join a passionate and friendly team and be part of ensuring over £30m annually is delivered to support communities to make a difference locally.

Location: You will work mainly from home and community locations in the Causeway Coast and Glens area. The role will also involve travel to the Belfast office (on average once every couple of weeks) and other parts of the NW team area as required.

2. One Full Time Fixed Term Funding Officer up to 31 December 2026 to be part of our Eastern Team which covers the following Council areas: Belfast, Lisburn and Castlereagh and Antrim and Newtownabbey. The Eastern Team is led by a Funding Manager and is comprised of six other Funding Officers. Your role will be to work across all of these council areas as needed to support the demands of our funding programmes. You will join a passionate and friendly team and be part of ensuring over £30m annually is delivered to support communities to make a difference locally.

Location: You will work mainly from home, and community locations in the Eastern area. The role will also involve travel to the Belfast office (on average once every week).

3. One Full Time Permanent Funding Officer to work in our Northern Ireland Dormant Assets team, led by a Funding Manager, with one other Funding Officer working exclusively on Dormant funding. It sits within the wider NI Funding team (circa 20 people), some of whom also work on Dormant programmes. Your role will be to ensure Dormant Assets funding supports a wide variety of VCSE organisations across Northern Ireland. Dormant Funds are not National Lottery money, but funds released by financial institutions.

Location: You’ll work mainly from home and community locations and  will be required to attend The National Lottery Community Fund offices in Belfast when necessary (on average one day per week).

The roles are varied and involve assessment of applications, grant management and engagement with key stakeholders. You will use your local knowledge and experience to support our assessment and decision making. By working closely with people and communities  you will understand what matters to them and where our funding can make the biggest difference. 

You will be required to:

• Assess applications across our funding programmes
• Manage your own caseload of grants which will involve liaising with grant holders, visiting projects, identifying and managing risks, and supporting organisations to deliver their projects and measure their impact.
• Understand and respond to the different needs of the community, our applicants and grant holders
• Provide advice and feedback and be willing to have challenging but constructive conversations.
• Represent the Fund by engaging with key stakeholders, including potential applicants, network support agencies, Council staff, and by attending funding fairs and external meetings.
• Share learning from your conversations, events, grant holder reports and evaluations to support the Fund in maximising our impact as a grant maker.
• You may come from a voluntary sector background - many of our colleagues do, but we are also very open to transferrable skills from any and all backgrounds.

 Interview Dates: In person interviews, Belfast – Monday 19th (Role 3) Tuesday 20th(Role 1/2/3) and Wednesday 21st May (Role 1/2)

These will include a pre interview case study and competency based questions.

The Church Engagement team sits within the External Engagement Department, which covers areas including communications, publications and resources, press and media, digital content and marketing, fundraising appeals, church engagement, events and volunteers. Teams work closely together on shared activities to ensure that the strategy is connected and delivers a coherent public message, maximising every potential opportunity to increase income and deepen understanding and engagement. Other office staff include those focused on operations and finance, as well as a small Development Team engaging with major donors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will allow you to make a real difference to the lives of millions of people in the Middle East and North Africa.  You will help to manage, maintain and increase income and engagement through the following key responsibilities:

·Work with the team to implement strategies for growing key areas of income and engagement with churches and individuals, maintaining prospect lists, communicating with churches to resource and increase engagement.

·To manage, motivate and support a diverse team in different geographical locations and working patterns.

·To assist with delivering the church partnership and media projects programme, inviting church leaders and churches to join, helping research, prepare and send project proposals, reports and associated resources.

·To analyse current church giving patterns and identify pathways to increase engagement, levels and forms of giving (including individual giving in conjunction with other team members).

·Support with high-level giving church relationships and work with the Engagement Officer to mobilise ambassadors and volunteers within churches to encourage prayer for the MENA and church giving.

·Oversee SAT-7’s presence at events and conferences to maximise opportunities for engagement and increased reach with existing and new supporters.

·To assist with identifying current and future engagement resources to inspire and mobilise supporter churches and wider opportunities with denominations and Christian networks.

·Lead regular one to ones and promote the process of SAT-7 UK’s personal development plans for team members throughout the year e.g. conducting appraisals and mid-year reviews.

The Evidence & Evaluation Manager / Senior Economist will work in a dedicated Impact and Evidence directorate. 

You will be central to our ambition to create the largest repository of robust evidence and evaluations of what works to support young people into good jobs.

• In the directorate, you will support the Head of Evaluation to ensure all Youth Futures’ investments are designed to provide robust evidence of what works.
• The postholder will design, commission and manage impact evaluations and support impact evaluation methods (through a statistics or economics background) within the team. Working closely with commissioned independent evaluators, programme staff, wider delivery partners and colleagues in our Grants and Investment directorate.
• You will also work with colleagues to develop new programmes, which will improve the evidence base on supporting young people into good jobs by working with partners able to run larger-scale trials. 
• You will contribute to the development of our suite of ‘evaluation architecture’, enhancing our data infrastructure and administrative dataset access, as well as methodological guidance and standards. 

This role can be based at any of our hubs located in Birmingham, Leeds or London. We currently operate a hybrid model of two-days per week in the office and three-days from home.
