Purpose of the job/About the role
As Reward and Benefits Manager, you will be the subject matter expert on all aspects of employee reward, ensuring Dementia UK has effective, fair and transparent pay practices, and a benefits package that sets us apart.
Working closely with the People and Finance teams, you will lead the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant monthly processing. You will manage all employee benefits for the charity, liaising with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms, and proposing updates and improvements. Additionally, you’ll provide training and support to the People team to enhance their knowledge of reward practices, and will ensure our pay and benefits offering is effectively communicated across the charity.
As our pensions expert, you will ensure compliance with relevant regulations across the Dementia UK Aviva and NHS pension schemes, including auto-enrolment. You will act as the main point of contact between the charity and our pension and payroll providers, fostering strong, productive relationships. You will also lead the annual pay review process, conducting market research, analysing relevant data, and recommending an organisational approach. With expertise in job evaluation, you will perform evaluations and advise on role design to ensure a consistent approach is applied.
To succeed in this role, you will bring experience in managing payroll and pensions administration, along with a strong understanding of best practices in staff reward and benefits. You will have worked within a UK HR department and possess a solid knowledge of UK employment legislation relating to employment, reward, pensions, payroll, and GDPR compliance.

Purpose of the Apprenticeship and Skills Pathway Manager role:

Key responsibilities of our Apprenticeship and Skills Pathway Manager include:
- Leading the Museum-wide apprenticeship programme and be an internal advocate for apprentices, sharing knowledge about best practice guidance and ensuring that policies and practice reflect up to date guidance.

- Deleading the Museum wide work experience programme to include long-termwork experience opportunities alongside shorter insight experiences (e.g. partnering with local schools)

- Working with line managers to identify new work experience opportunities that offer high quality experience for students.
What we are looking for in our Apprenticeship and Skills Pathway Manager:
- Demonstrable experience of working in a learning and development environment
- Knowledge of designing or managing professional learning and/or talent development programmes.
- Articulates the Museum’s purpose and objectives and supports the team to see their role within it.
- Actively shares experience and knowledge with team and, where appropriate, the wider Museum to develop understanding and knowledge.
- Confidently engages with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels, both internally and externally
- Motivates and provides confidence to team members, allowing them to utilise their skills and knowledge and act with relevant level of autonomy

Our mission:
Power for Democracies is a new international pro-democracy research initiative with a mission to protect and strengthen liberal democracies around the world. Our goal is to identify the most relevant and effective pro-democracy projects by civil society organisations in the context of current and emerging threats to democracies.
Power for Democracies identifies these projects by systematically synthesising and analysing existing research and, where necessary, conducting and commissioning new research. We aim to publish recommendations that private and institutional donors, as well as civil society actors, can use to decide how and where to allocate their limited resources to best serve democracies.
Communication and outreach are critical to the success of our mission. We seek to combine evidence-based research with academic knowledge and practical, results-oriented civil society experience. Our communications, online publications and other public-facing interactions address complex and dynamic issues, but must be accessible, transparent and informative to a range of audiences. The successful, targeted dissemination of our recommendations to the international donor community, their advisors and institutional grant-makers is critical to our mission. Your responsibilities as the Head of Communications:
- Help position Power for Democracies as the "go to" evidence-based research and evaluation entity in the pro-democracy field with relevant stakeholders, donor groups, networks, institutions, and civil society spaces.
- Recruit and build the small communications team in charge of Power for Democracies’ communication and distribution formats, channels, and tools.
- Develop Power for Democracies' outreach and dissemination strategies (in close collaboration with the Knowledge + Research team) to gain meaningful attention from experts, the pro-democracy space, and donors alike.
- Develop effective media and communication formats that best address the needs of our target groups (websites, white papers, podcast/videocast features, talks etc.).

- In collaboration with our research experts, develop and plan our publication formats and oversee the Power for Democracies publishing calendar.

As head of our small communications team, you are part of the management team and have a decisive role for Power for Democracies' success. What you bring:
- At least 6-10 years' practical experience in communications, media, publishing/editing or fundraising, including substantive experience in or for a research institution, think tank, science editorial team or equivalent.
- At least two years in a senior role and solid experience of working with teams of content producers and publishing content on time.
- A solid and nuanced understanding of the relevant spaces and stakeholders.
- Experience in developing media, communication and distribution strategies tailored to highly specific audiences to ensure we select and develop the most effective communication and distribution channels.

AKF(UK) Partnerships Managers are part of the Global Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) Partnerships team tasked with identifying and cultivating new funding partnerships and strengthening existing ones to support our strategic goals. They engage with European and Asian government, foundation, and corporate donors to mobilise resources for ten multisector profit and not-for-profit agencies of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) operating across Asia and Africa. In addition, Partnership Managers are responsible for a portfolio of select grants implementing across AKDN themes and geographies in close collaboration with field units, global teams, and our partners.

4. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CORE TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
4.1 Securing resources
- Coordinate, facilitate, and lead the development, review, and quality assurance of expressions of interest, concept notes and full proposals for funding opportunities;
- Liaise and coordinate with internal stakeholders as well as with donors, partners, and consortia to facilitate project design, align proposal and donor requirements, gather required legal and administrative documentation, and draft sections of proposals as needed;
- Coordinate processes of contracting and negotiation, engaging relevant stakeholders, and ensuring contracts ‘get over the line’ in a timely and efficient way;
- When needed, provide direct hands-on support at field level in design of concept notes, proposals, and budgets and conduct donor or field visits to support discussions with new and existing donors/partners;
- Contribute to management systems, such as the Award Information Management System (AIMS).
4.2 Grant management
- Manage and monitor a portfolio of grants through regular interface and coordination with AKF(UK)’s partnerships team, AKF(UK)’s finance team and relevant AKF/AKDN agencies/field units, acting as a central resource for field units in donor best practice;
- Interface with donors and communicate on a regular basis about the implementation of on-going grants to ensure strong, enduring relationships;
- Ensure strong relationship cultivation throughout the grants cycle, anticipate, and plan for future funding and project extensions;
- Oversight, coordination, review, and quality assurance of donor deliverables (e.g. work plans, monitoring and evaluation plans, staffing plans, budgets, close-out plans, donor troubleshooting);
- Ensure adherence with donor requirements, rules, and regulations, and that grant deliverables are produced on time and to a high standard;
- Coordinate contractual amendments, changes, and project adaptations, engage with donors in a pro-active and diplomatic way, and flag potential changes (e.g. budget revisions, extensions, risks) in advance to ‘trouble shoot’ and ensure smooth project implementation;
- Facilitate grant monitoring efforts including routine coordination meetings, donor steering committees, donor project visits, and donor monitoring missions;
- Undertake coordination and administrative tasks related to grants and support the maintenance and update of grant management tools and tracking systems such as AIMS.
4.3 Donor engagement and positioning
- Support the partnership unit in researching, sourcing relevant information, and performing analysis of market trends on new donors, peer organisations, and funding opportunities to identify potential funding and partnering matches for AKF and AKDN priorities;
- Work with country teams, AKDN agencies, and the Global Programmes Team (GPT) to identify, build, and support strategic partnerships on aligned global and regional initiatives, innovations and themes with likeminded donors and partners;
- Develop positioning materials (e.g. presentations, capability statements, briefs, talking points), collaborating with communications teams, to enable effective donor engagement;
- Engage with new and existing donors and partners to identify solicited and unsolicited funding opportunities;
- Guide teams to make informed, effective decisions on which opportunities to pursue (including ‘Go No-Go’ requests);
- Identify, cultivate, and pre-position with partner organisations to form or join consortia focused funding bids;
- Conduct due diligence on new partners in coordination with finance and partnerships teams.
4.4 Influencing development and communicating practical lessons and results
- Support the influencing of the development sector by convening and participating at events (e.g. conferences, roundtables, policy forums) to share lessons, innovations and knowledge about our programmes that position us as ‘thought leaders’;
- Engage communications teams to identify opportunities and support the development of content (e.g. social media campaigns, videos) that promote AKF and AKDN’s work and position us as ‘partners of choice’ in the sector. Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Deputy Regional Director of Partnerships or Regional Director of Partnerships.

- A minimum of 2 years of experience working in international organisations or donor agencies, including field-level implementation or management, and at least 5 total years of professional experience;
- Experience in resource mobilisation and developing relationships, including direct experience with European (EU, Germany, Norway, Sweden, UK) and Asian donors;
- Experience in developing and writing donor proposals and arguments, business cases, concept papers, briefs, executive summaries, as well as coordinating multiple inputs from a variety of sources, and simultaneously managing a variety of relationships;
- Experience developing budgets and business plans;
- Proven success in managing grants in complex organisations with numerous stakeholders.

The Involvement & Engagement Officer will play a crucial role in delivering the new patient and public involvement and engagement strategy for Alzheimer’s Research UK. The role forms part of the Involvement & Engagement team, which sits in the Information and Involvement (I&I) department.
The team acts as a focal point for patient and public involvement at the charity, working to ensure that people with lived experience shape and inform projects and activity across ARUK. You will help to manage a key group of lived experience involvement volunteers, facilitate and deliver involvement activity and set the standards and processes for meaningful involvement.
The team also delivers public engagement initiatives, with the aim of making dementia research accessible and inspiring to the public through events and participatory projects and supporting researchers to deliver engagement. The team also supports fundraising colleagues and activities through helping to embed and enhance ways to engage supporters with dementia research.
The team forms part of the busy Policy, Communications & Involvement directorate and works closely with colleagues both within the directorate and across the charity. The I&I department’s mission is to improve understanding of dementia and the diseases which cause it and encourage and support the public and people affected by dementia to get involved in research.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
· Working with the Involvement & Engagement Manager, implement ARUK’s public involvement and engagement strategy.
· Facilitate, plan and deliver the work of the Lived Experience Involvement Group, including liaising with members and providing dementia specific assistance, arranging logistics for meetings, responding to queries, liaising with internal stakeholders.
· Support the recruitment of new lived experience representatives, with a focus on improving representation from people with a dementia diagnosis and those from underserved communities.
· Responsibility to ensure records relating to involvement work are kept up to date in line with ARUK policies and procedures.
· Helping to develop and deliver training on engagement and involvement for the Group, colleagues and the research community, working with the Research Involvement Manager.

About the role
We are seeking a passionate and strategic leader to join our team as our new Head of External Affairs. In this critical role, you will develop and implement a comprehensive external affairs strategy aimed ensuring decision makers and influencers understand the impact of the challenges farming people face and continue to work with RABI to develop and implement solutions that building physical, mental and financial resilience. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will report directly to the Chief Executive while building and leading a new External Affairs department.
You will be tasked with establishing strong relationships with government officials, Members of Parliament, and farming sector representatives. Collaborating closely with the Senior Leadership Team you will develop and deliver an external affairs strategy that supports the charity’s objectives to build farmers personal resilience and ensure farming people’s wellbeing is a fully embedded principle within key policy making decisions.
What we are looking for
You will come with a proven track record in leading and implementing successful external affairs strategies that align with organisational goals. Significant experience in advising at senior levels and expertise in integrated external affairs, including drafting public affairs briefings and developing policy positions will be crucial. As well as an exceptional influencing and networking ability, alongside exemplary written and oral communication skills.
We need someone with experience managing teams through organisational changes and be open, confident, and collaborative in engaging with others. Importantly you will be adept at building relationships at the Ministerial level and fostering cross-party support for policies while integrating service user voices into strategies. Strong stakeholder engagement and planning skills are required to manage a diverse portfolio of projects. A commitment to the objectives of RABI, a full clean UK driving license, and readiness to travel and on occasion work unsociable hours are also necessary.

We are seeking a Head of Communications and Marketing to lead on the charity's communications strategy.
The Head of Communications and Marketing is a strategically important post in the organisation with lead responsibility for overseeing communications, marketing and PR for the UK’s only national cleft lip and palate support charity. The role involves managing all aspects of internal and external communications including media relations, digital content and brand strategy.
The role reports directly to the Chief Executive, is a member of the Senior Management Team and works closely with the CLAPA Board of Trustees to ensure that we maximise all opportunities to promote the work of the charity. The post holder also has responsibility for the direct line management of the Communications and Marketing team.
