Job Title: Content Officer (9 Month FTC)
Reports to: Digital Lead
Benefits: Nine-day fortnight (with alternate Fridays designated as a day off), pension contributions, 25 days Annual Leave, staff learning fund, enhanced parental benefits package.
Based in: London office. (We are willing to consider remote working within the UK, with monthly in-person meetings in London, for the right candidate.)
Application deadline: 13th January 2025 (9AM)
Why this role is important – and why you’ll make a difference doing it:
HOPE not hate is the UK’s leading anti-fascist organisation. Our mission is simple – to monitor and challenge the far right, to engage in the communities that are susceptible to them and to address the issues and policies which give rise to them.
Our team includes researchers, educators, community activists and policy experts, as well as specialists with inside access to far right groups.
As a Content Officer, you’ll play a critical role in driving our digital engagement. By creating compelling content for our social media, website and email programmes, you’ll help us attract, inspire, and mobilise more people to stand against hate.
Your role will include:
-
Content Creation: Write, design, and produce engaging content, including social media posts, emails, website copy and more. Use tools like Canva, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and CapCut to create graphics and videos from new and existing footage.
-
Digital Campaigns: Work with the Digital Lead to plan and execute creative campaigns that inspire action and raise funds.
-
Audience Engagement: Build and manage our presence on Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, X, and BlueSky, and engage with supporters through other platforms. Act as the first point of contact for supporters, responding to messages and comments and managing replies.
-
Performance Monitoring: Run tests on content across platforms, analyse results, and use insights to refine and improve our engagement strategies.
What we think you’ll need to be able to do the job:
Essential
-
1+ year of experience in digital work for a campaign, charity, or political organisation.
-
Creativity and strong ideas for engaging content.
-
Experience in copywriting, graphic design, and video production and tools like Canva, Premiere Pro, Photoshop and CapCut.
-
Strong organisational skills, and ability to prioritise effectively.
Desirable:
-
Knowledge and experience in the areas we work on would be an advantage – tackling the far right; building community resilience against hate, division and oppression; and campaigning against policies that fuel hate.
-
Experience using tools like Engaging Networks or WordPress.
We are looking for someone with the emotional resilience to work in a field that involves challenging content, good political judgement and awareness and the ability to work under pressure and reduced timescales.
We believe that our work will be at its best if it is created by people with a range of backgrounds and experiences. We are keen to interview people who will add diversity to our team. We are an antifascist organisation, which strives to be an effective ally in the wider fight against racism and inequity.

We’re on the look out for a new member of our team, a new member of our Executive Team, and someone that is going to be part a key part of this inspirational organisation, We Are Survivors.
Could you be our new Criminal Justice Services Director?
Are you the person that wants to lead an amazing team of therapists working both outside in the community and inside prison and secure settings?
Do you want to inspire a team of ISVAs, the first male focused ISVA team in the UK to do more for those victims/survivors in the criminal justice process as the system across England and Wales is straining?
Do you, like us, think that every person has the capacity to create change and so want to be part of an organisation that is not only ground breaking but now the largest male victim/survivor organisation in the UK?
The Criminal Justice Services Directorate is an incredibly important part of our organisation, delivering services in the community and in secure settings including Prisons, with a range of individuals and groups that have all been impacted by sexual harms (including sexual abuse, rape and sexual exploitation, or boys and men) alongside the impact on their families and friends.
Over the past 15+ years we have grown as an organisation, both physically and metaphorically, and we’re now supporting approximately 2,500 male survivors every single year across all our services in the Community Services Directorate and the Criminal Justice Services Directorate. The current state of the criminal justice system, the difficulties in the mental health system, the cost of living and other societal pressures will make the next few years both challenging and fascinating and you could get to help shape our local and regional response, along with influencing the national discussion on tackling sexual and domestic abuse, gender-based violence, and the ever-growing prison population.
This role is one that will give you the opportunity to use your:
- strategic planning skills;
- systems leadership experience;
- people management and influencing; and
- governance and performance leadership.
You’ll work with the Community Services Director and the Operations Director, and alongside the Deputy Chief Executive Officer to be part of the Executive Leadership team; whilst supporting and working with the Chief Executive Officer to ensure we make our vision a reality.
WorkWell is an opportunity to create a more collective approach to supporting residents with health conditions to retain or find work, integrate existing health and work services, and support and increase capacity to provide additional support within the system.
As a Community Connector, you will use strength-based approaches to support individuals referred to Wellbeing Matters by the primary care networks and WorkWell partners to connect with appropriate community assets, activities or services that support their wellbeing and self-care.
Working within the WorkWell Salford multi-disciplinary team and primary care networks, you will be a strong communicator, able to promote the WorkWell offer and identify individuals who will benefit from your support. You will be a team player working as part of the Wellbeing Matters staff team.
To be successful, you will be experienced in working collaboratively, working one-to-one with clients to access support, and sharing insight and information to support the wider Wellbeing Matters team based on your engagement within the WorkWell partnership.
