About the Role

Reporting to our Operations Manager in the Investment Team this role plays an important part in supporting SIBs Investment Team in delivering funding programmes (grants and loans) to charities and social enterprises. As a member of the operations team the role will contribute to the efficient and effective running of the Investment Team.

The role holder will support the day-to-day delivery of funding programmes, including dealing with initial enquiries from our customers, providing support to our Relationship Managers (internal and external) throughout the customer journey, and providing administrative support to the team.

We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, organised, and has good attention to detail, excellent customer service skills and a desire to support our customers throughout their customer journey. We require someone who is able to manage a varied workload, and keen to contribute to the delivery of our funding programmes. 

Key responsibilities

1. Manage relevant email inboxes and respond to enquiries using guidance notes and signposting queries where relevant.

2. Generate, check, validate and send offer documents to customers.

3. Carry out subsidy and due diligence checks and maintain accurate records.

4. Work with the Operations and Relationship Managers to check and authorise payment requests, ensuring all conditions have been satisfied (grants team only).

5. Set up customer monitoring records, send monitoring requests, complete monitoring records and close grant/ loan cases (as required).

6. Carry out audit sampling of grant/ loan cases (as required).

7. Respond to requests for information and produce regular management information reports for the team.

8. Prepare, review and format reports and papers, including for Grant Panels and Senior Management Team.

9. Be responsible for the minutes of Grant Committees, recording decisions taken, pursue actions and report on matters arising (grants team only).

10. Keep customer Salesforce details (e.g. contact details) and SharePoint files and folders (e.g. bank details, signatories, end of grant report tracking) up to date and accurate (as required).

11. Keep fund Salesforce (e.g. reports) and SharePoint files and folders (e.g. fund information, guidance docs) up to date and accurate.  

12. Maintain administrative systems to support the on-going efficient and effective running of the team and ensure they are reviewed and updated if needed.

13. Provide administrative and other support to members of the team.

14. Support the operations team with the setup of new funds and the update of established fund policies, procedures and templates (as required).

15. Provide cover for the Operations Manager and the other Investment Team Assistant when they are on leave, and to provide cover for other operations team tasks as required.

16. Ensure that all work factors in customer needs and where possible improves the experience for them.

17. Work within the organisation's values, principles and processes to achieve operational excellence.

Peer Support Group Development Officer

Overview:

Following the successful application of a National Lottery award, we are seeking two dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Group Development Officers to set up and sustain local peer support groups for people living with and affected by prostate cancer. These roles focus on building on our established networks to expand peer support in defined areas, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery through strategic outreach and resource development.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals living with and affected by prostate cancer, providing crucial support through community-based initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

• Group formation and support: Oversee the setup and operation of 10-12 self-sustaining and independent peer support groups within your assigned region across the lifetime of the three-year project. Support existing group leaders and organisers to reach more people living with and affected by prostate cancer with tools and resources.
• Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and support volunteer Support Group Leaders. Assist in the co-production of training materials and resources, aimed at creating self-sustainable groups.
• Community Engagement: Conduct outreach to map existing support services and facilitate the integration of these services with the peer support groups. Host local engagement events to boost volunteer recruitment.
• Data and Case Management: Use a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to support high-quality volunteer and case management, ensuring accurate data collection to support service outcomes.
• Training and Development: Develop and deliver tailored training programmes for volunteers based on the specific needs of Group Leaders and Organisers. Set up regional forums for sharing best practices and peer networking. Encourage use of Members Portal to share good practice.
• Documentation and Compliance: Ensure compliance with Best Practice Guidance document. Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies to maintain safe governance of peer support groups.

Skills and Qualities Required:

• Strong Facilitation and Communication Skills: Ability to engage effectively with diverse groups. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Project Management: Proven skills in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Ability to meet deadlines and manage a varied workload.
• Volunteer Management: Experience in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers in community settings. Knowledge of best practices in volunteer management.
• Influencing: Experience of influencing a wide range of partners and stakeholders, and in particular clinicians and voluntary and community providers within the health and wellbeing community.
• Community Development: Experience of developing and delivering community services with a range of stakeholders, including health and social care workers, commissioners, local authority and community and voluntary partners.
• Data-Driven Approach: Experience with data collection and CRM systems and a commitment to data-driven service evaluation.
• Community Sensitivity: Experience collaborating with people with a lived experience of cancer or other long-term conditions. Ability to understand and empathise with community needs.

Location of Work: Flexible, this post holder can be based at home, our London office or a hybrid approach working from home with office visits as required, we continue to seek to enable flexible and remote working. The role may involve some irregular travel throughout England and Scotland.

JOB PURPOSE

Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good.  The biggest team within the Fundraising and Development department, Corporate Partnerships are responsible for building and unlocking multi-layered and mutually beneficial relationships that go beyond, and include, critical financial support.

The Head of Corporate Partnerships is responsible for leading, empowering and enabling a dynamic, growing and ambitious team to maximise the potential of both cash and gift-in-kind income streams. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic, mission-led focus and alignment across new partnership development and management whilst also playing a critical role as part of the wider Fundraising & Development leadership and Magic Breakfast core management group.

In recent years, our existing corporate fundraising programme has developed and grown and includes a volunteering programme that engages with over 200 volunteers a year. Our portfolio includes long-term strategic relationships with companies including Heinz, Amazon and New York Bakery Company as well as newer partnerships with companies such as Marriot Hotels. As the Head of the team, you will provide senior and strategic support to help deepen the impact of our many multi-faceted relationships whilst championing innovation and creativity throughout. You will also oversee the development of a targeted pipeline to ensure there are clear strategies for identification, cultivation, and stewardship and that partners are aligned with Magic Breakfast values and our Ethical Fundraising Policy.

To enable the success of the partnerships team, the successful candidate will work closely with other departments across the organisation to build effective relationships and identify and deliver opportunities for partners to deliver on and engage with our strategic objectives and campaigns.

As a member of the Senior Fundraising Leads and Core Management Group, the post holder will also show exceptional leadership, role model our core values, and support the development and delivery of the major giving and wider fundraising strategy, and the in-year management of our organisational objectives and KPIs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy and Leadership

• Support the development and delivery of a new Fundraising & Development strategy, identifying and contributing specifically to sustainable and ambitious growth from corporate partners in line with the charity’s financial ambitions and strategic objectives

• Lead in convening colleagues to ensure the organisation can make empowered decisions and continue to grow in an informed and sustainable manner.

Income Generation and Donor Stewardship

• Manage a high-performing corporate fundraising team, providing leadership and support to set and implement an effective corporate fundraising strategy raising £3,400,000 in cash and £1,500,000 from GIK in 2024/25 with a focus on multi-year investment.

• Increase cash and gift-in-kind income from corporate partners by:

• Building the capacity of the new business function to grow a robust and diverse multi-year pipeline of prospects and support them in on-boarding new high value partnerships

• Building the capacity of the account management function to effectively steward, uplift and retain our existing partners, maximising added value opportunities for mutual benefit.

Reporting, Budgets and Financial Management

• Manage all aspects of the Corporate Partnerships team budget.

• Lead on the data capture and reporting on all corporate management cash and gift income via our Salesforce data base, reporting as necessary on opportunities, risk and any changes to forecast or projected income received.

• Conduct effective annual planning and budgeting in close collaboration with colleagues from across the organisation, setting, measuring, and reporting against agreed budget, KPIs and objectives

Core Management Group

• Lead the Corporate Partnerships team in line with Magic Breakfast’s values, supporting and managing them in line with Magic Breakfast’s policies and procedures. 

• Develop the team’s collective capability through career development plans, which identify training opportunities (formal external training as well as via project allocation and involvement with external partners)

• Take an active role in setting, delivering, and evaluating progress against Corporate Partnerships team strategy and goals

The Senior Finance Manager will lead the financial accounting, reporting and control activities within Mary’s Meals UK and to ensure they are carried out efficiently, effectively and in line with good practice. You will be responsible for the maintenance of accurate financial records, for the integrity of the accounting system and for compliance with regulatory requirements with regard to accounting records and reporting.

This is a full-time, permanent role that can be based anywhere within the UK.

Principal duties include:

• Provide leadership, management and coaching to the Finance team.
• Ensure quality control over the completion and recording of financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Develop, implement and ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.
• Develop and maintain an ongoing system of internal controls.
• Ensure appropriate controls are adhered to in order to manage all financial risks.
• Oversee cash management of several currency bank accounts.
• To be responsible for the provision of weekly financial updates, month end close process and the year-end financial close process.
• Produce Annual Financial Statements in line with Company Law, UK Charity SORP and Auditing requirements, and liaise with external auditors.
• Supply all year end analysis and schedules to the external auditors as required in the Audit Deliverables document and to run the year end audit process.
• Prepare the Quarterly Income and Expenditure Forecast for MMUK for review and approval by Senior Management.
• Prepare the Annual Budget and all related analysis for MMUK for review and approval by Senior Management and the Board.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant Charity, Company, and Taxation legislation by keeping up to-date with developments in accounting standards and recommended practice.
• Liaise with the Fundraising departments to maintain accurate records of restricted funding, and to provide financial information for grant applications and reports.
• Proactively manage the monthly cash transfer process to facilitate timely and appropriate transfer to Mary’s Meals International.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely production of high-quality monthly Management Accounts.
• Oversee the monthly payroll processes including supply of information to payroll bureaus and authorisation of payment by bureaus.
• Maintain and update employee information for online submission of Group Pension Scheme and other providers of employee benefits.
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship with Mary’s Meals International Finance team and be responsible for the provision of necessary information.
• Represent Mary’s Meals UK at external finance meetings and events as required.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Fundraising Engagement Manager with great personality and team ethic to join our Regional Fundraising team.

This is a role of variety, opportunity and innovation, and we are looking for someone who embraces change and constantly strives to achieve more.

You will maximise income for Young Live vs Cancer by coaching our supporters to reach their goals, whilst seeking out new fundraising opportunities for your geographical area. This role sits within the ‘Regional Engagement’ team and we need someone with natural customer service skills who wants to deliver an excellent experience to all of their supporters. Your team of supporters will range from volunteers and individuals, to groups and local corporates.

The North & East of Scotland is an area filled with some of our most committed supporters but there is still so much opportunity to grow corporate support across the counties. Our Social Workers support families from hospitals across the region, and our Home from Home, ‘Ciaran’s House’ in Edinburgh, enables families to stay close to their loved one for free during treatment, so building relationships with these teams are a must.

Candidates should live within North & East Scotland, in one of the following counties: Aberdeenshire, Angus, Clackmannanshire, Dundee, Edinburgh & the Lothians, Fife, Highland, Inverness, Moray or Perth & Kinross. About the role

The Senior People Advisor works within the People and Culture team to provide staff with advisory support across the whole employee lifecycle from onboarding through to offboarding and ongoing HR support, which reflects and highlights our organisational culture and values. The role is supported by the People team who operate across the globe and work collaboratively to ensure our culture, people and processes are well aligned. The role will lead on providing advice on employee relations issues to all employees and people managers in their regions.

You will also ensure that staff who are hired and/or paid through PEOs receive the same positive, welcoming and nurturing experience as staff who are employed directly by Sunrise.

You will work closely with the Learning and Development Director and People and Culture team to assist in the design and delivery of areas that drive culture and transformation across Sunrise. This will include overseeing and utilizing our LMS system and supporting leadership development, JEDI, core compliance related areas and any other areas identified as part of learning needs analysis. You will also support the evaluation of our programmes, tools and techniques for delivering learning.

The role will also lead on developing the curriculum for our organisation wide onboarding programme and materials.

Key Responsibilities

Provide generalist people support that will include areas such as:

• Employee/industrial relations - providing support, advice and guidance on a range of issues including conflict management and working with and escalating when required to our people and culture lead(s)
• Providing onboarding support and coordinating issue of contracts and any updates to employment for specific for regions that you support
• Providing local hiring support working with the Hiring Advisor as needed, this may include coordination support, quality assuring our process and providing advice to hiring managers.
• Being first point of call to responds to queries /requests for your regions and escalating as appropriate to People and Culture Lead(s)
• Support the implementation of the JEDI strategy within the regions you work in

Managing communications between PEOs and Sunrise and their HR leads for Europe based staff (Remote, Safeguard,Velocity) with some support for North American based staff including:

• Facilitating employee life cycle to facilitate pre-boarding, payroll changes, onboarding and offboarding including exit interviews.
• Providing the PEO with guidance and updates on employee relations issues e.g. performance management, grievances, workplace health & safety, etc. by investigating issues, evaluating potential solutions and assisting in implementing agreed-upon actions via the PEO.
• Working with PEO’s to seek advice and expertise on labour law legislation and related risks, to ensure that alignment between Sunrise and PEO HR practices is balanced with compliance to local legislation.

Specialist areas will include:

Learning and Development

• Work with the Director of Learning and Development and People and Culture Leads to design, deliver and implement opportunities that are aligned with learning needs
• Work with Managers to regularly evaluate learning needs analysis and seeking input from L&D Director to design solutions where appropriate
• Support with sourcing, design and delivery of compliance related resources and learning for the organisation
• Utilize our learning management system to support learning activities and development and maintenance of the LMS
• Oversee and develop our approach to onboarding globally and lead on the design and implementation of the curriculum, ensuring regular updates are made as we grow
• Evaluate the effectiveness of learning activities working with the L&D Director to develop a consistent framework

Other

• Leads and/or participates in HR-operational related projects, e.g. Intranet, HRIS, program reviews, etc
• Works with P&C Leads to provide relevant data and reports for board and organisation reporting

Required skills, knowledge and experience

• A working knowledge of, and experience in a people advisory role, in particular contemporary HR practices and related regulatory/compliance requirements.
• Prior experience (equivalent to 5 years of experience) and success in designing and delivering learning interventions with experience of remote content design and delivery.
• Knowledge of and experience of applying learning theories and best practices
• Experience of managing commercial partnerships and relationships with third party suppliers
• Experience of designing and delivering learning experiences globally taking into consideration JEDI and cultural differences.
• Experience of using learning technologies, learning management systems and/or virtual learning environments.
• A high level of emotional intelligence, with advanced communications and engagement skills (rapport building, influencing and trust building).
• Advanced level organisational, time management and administrative skills. Operational focussed project management experience, including competence in using project management tools (ideally Asana, or similar)
• Well developed experience of managing issues and conflict management, troubleshooting and problem solving skills, together with a positive, collaborative approach.
• Experience of facilitation and coaching and implementing coaching programmes (Essential)

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.) is a long-term (chronic), fluctuating, neurological disease that causes symptoms affecting many body systems, more commonly the nervous and immune systems. M.E. affects an estimated 250,000 people in the UK, and around 17 million people worldwide.

Action for M.E. is the only charity in the UK providing direct support to children and adults with M.E. We provide vital support services, campaign for change and invest in ground-breaking research to help put an end to the ignorance, injustice and neglect experienced by people with M.E. 

We are looking for an empathic and resilient individual to join a friendly and well-established team of part-time, remote-based Information and Support Officers, on a 12-month contract. The purpose of this role is to provide a holistic, client-centred, effective and efficient Information and Support Service to people affected by M.E. We do this primarily via outgoing calls made in response to triaged voicemail messages, and also via email.

You can choose to be home-based anywhere in the UK, work from our Bristol office, or a hybrid of the two.

Our Information and Support Service team has a deep understanding of the issues affecting people with M.E. and their family and carers. Some of our clients come to us in considerable distress so this work isn’t always easy, but it can be incredibly rewarding and is valued by our clients and the wider organisation.

You will need experience of working in a service providing information, advice, support or advocacy by telephone and email (or proven transferable skills). You will be experienced and confident at working with people in distress, and identifying and escalating safeguarding concerns, with the courage and emotional resilience to set and maintain realistic boundaries.
