Our challenge
The Community Fundraising Team is an integral part of The Charity Fundraising Portfolio, with an income target of £3.6 million in 2024/25 and the team consists of Community Fundraisers based across the UK. Our role is to provide fundraising advice and support to our DIY individual fundraisers, Supporter Groups, Community Organisations and Regional Corporates.
How can you help?
We are recruiting a team of Community Fundraising Volunteers to help us provide our amazing DIY individual fundraisers with the best possible experience when contacting The Charity for information or fundraising advice. We want to be able to engage with our fundraisers and respond to queries efficiently, whilst also spotting further fundraising opportunities
for our expert team of regional Community Fundraisers.
As part of a team of Community Fundraising Admin Volunteers, you’d help us to:
• Manage the Community Fundraising Team inboxes.
• Respond to our Fundraisers by their preferred choice, including phone, email etc.
• Identify opportunities for further engagement by the relevant Regional Community Fundraiser.
• Update our CRM with details of the Fundraiser, their DIY event and any action taken in response to their contact with us.

You’ll play a vital role in the Community Fundraising Team, helping us provide the best possible experience to our fundraisers.

Someone who is passionate about The Charity and our vision. You’ll also need to be:
• Proficient with IT— including CRM software & MS Outlook

About the role
As a Trustee, you’ll play a vital role in providing guidance, challenge, and oversight to ensure The Brain Tumour Charity remains true to its purpose and delivers the impact our community needs. Working alongside our CEO and senior leadership team, you will help steer our ambitious strategy for growth, advocacy, and research. You will also be a trustee member on our Finance Committee, providing essential expertise and input to help guide our income strategy and financial governance.This is a voluntary position, but the impact you will have is priceless.

Our client is a registered Charity Incorporated Organisation that aims to support and invest in young people (predominantly 18-25 years old) through their adolescent years which can be difficult because of both personal circumstances and the injustices in society. They fund work nationally, as well as having a specific focus on several counties in the South East of England. The grants they make total c. £3 million per year.

Our client is looking for a new Vice Chair to join their inclusive, inspiring and professional Board. The Vice Chair will provide support to the current Chair and additional leadership to the Board. You will bring experience of working with young people or within/around youth led organisations. This individual will be able to be an effective ambassador and will bring an understanding of boards and charity governance, ideally though a previous board role or experience in an aligned role. The Trust provides training and ongoing support, and they looking for someone committed both to the role and to continuous learning.

About Access Academia
Access Academia is the charitable umbrella which was created out of the creation of the student-led publication, the Journal of Intersectional Social Justice. When Journal of Intersectional Social Justice (JISJ) was created, there were not any expectations for the project to be any more than that: a student-led academic publication. However, as it rolled on, attention for the project widened and it began to cover other topics and get involved in other realms of knowledge sharing, activism, and content creation. The creation of the seminal Access Series on the Intersections blog springboarded the idea for the JISJ to turn into something much more than a simple academic publication. Now as we have restructured the JISJ into Access Academia, we are finalising our official registration as a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) in the UK.
Our core purpose is to Make Academia More Accessible. We plan to accomplish this by many different avenues, as obviously it is a very wide-ranging goal! The main ways we plan to do this are through encouraging Open Access academia and knowledge sharing through the Access Series, expanding the themes covered on Intersections with additions such as Mental Health Mondays and Colonialism in Subject, creating accessible content across our social media platforms which encourages truthful and accurate knowledge sharing and activism, running research events to encourage students to publish and interact with academia, covering inside stories of academia, running student engagement programmes to try and make academia less of an Ivory Tower, and much more!
What is a Volunteership?
A volunteership is a unique hybrid opportunity that combines elements of volunteering and interning. Participants commit to working with a charity or nonprofit organization for a specified period of time, fulfilling a set of responsibilities and expectations. In return, they gain valuable experience, receive a letter of recommendation, and are offered LinkedIn endorsements. Volunteership: Events & Programmes Coordinator
Duration: May to August 2025
Eligibility: Must be currently enrolled as a student
Requirements:

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate program.

Strong interest in event planning, programme coordination, and nonprofit work.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.

Event Planning & Execution:

Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of monthly charity events. This is a minimum of 1 online event per month.

Work closely with team members to ensure events are organized efficiently, within budget, and aligned with the charity’s mission.

Manage guest lists, invitations, and event communications.

Annual Research Programme Coordination:

Support the coordination of the charity’s annual research programme. This is currently an annual programme, the Social Justice Research Fellowship, running in 2025 from June 2nd - August 8th.

Assist in organizing logistics, outreach, and scheduling for research participants.

Ensure that resources and materials are available for programme participants.

Track the progress of the programme and report on key milestones.

Contribute to planing and logistical initiatives surrounding expanding the provisions of research programmes, including brainstorming and coordination for potential new programmes.

Healthwatch Haringey is the independent ‘people’s champion’ for health and social
care in the London Borough of Haringey.
We actively seek out the views of the public and patients on all matters relating to
health and social care, e.g. their experience in hospital, interim care, at the GP or
dentist, and collate those together to produce impact statements and reports.
With this evidence we seek to campaign for and change for the better the way
health and social care services are designed, delivered, and improved.

whenever appropriate as one of its leading ambassadors.
As well as line managing the Healthwatch Haringey Manager, you will be responsible
for the strategic development of the organisation, the setting of priorities and the
delivery of statutory and contractual obligations.

The Housing and Welfare team is a fast-paced team which works to make sure that all of our clients have safe and comfortable accommodation and are able to access any benefits to which they are entitled. People seeking asylum are restricted in the benefits they can access, if any, and their legal status determines whether or not they can engage in employment and what statutory accommodation is available for them, so the Housing and Welfare team is vital in helping HBF’s clients to navigate this system. People recently granted refugee status and those who have experienced exploitation are also at high risk of destitution, homelessness and unsuitable accommodation.
As a very busy team, our casework volunteers are invaluable, supporting the staff team on anything from liaising with statutory bodies and voluntary agencies, to drafting grant applications for individual welfare needs. To be able to meet the enormous demand for welfare and housing support, we ideally need to have volunteer support throughout the week.
Main tasks and activities
· Assisting clients to access asylum support, community care, housing, mainstream benefits, charitable support (etc.), within the remit of prevention of homelessness and destitution;
· Maintaining contact with clients within the remit of prevention of homelessness and destitution;
· Liaising with statutory bodies (Asylum Support, DWP, local authorities), solicitors and voluntary agencies to ensure client needs are met;
· Referring clients internally and externally as appropriate for specialist help with issues that fall outside the remit of the housing and welfare casework service, including health/therapeutic services, referrals to immigration/housing/community care solicitors;
· Maintaining accurate and timely client records and follow-up work;
· Other administrative duties as required, including database management and filing.
Skills and experience needed
· Understanding of, and commitment to, the objectives of the Helen Bamber Foundation;
· A demonstrable empathy for our vulnerable clients, including people seeking asylum, refugees and survivors of torture and trafficking;
· Some knowledge of the challenges facing vulnerable clients including people seeking asylum, refugees and survivors of torture, trafficking;
· Some experience in a casework and/or advice role;
· Some knowledge of the rights and entitlements of people seeking asylum and refugees;
· Some knowledge of mainstream benefits, housing, social care;
· Ability to keep up to date with legislation, case law, policies and procedures relating to welfare, housing and immigration;

We are a very small, registered charity (number 1164078) who are looking to maintain and grow our current service offering.
We provide counselling support, for children and young people who would not normally have access to the help they need by offering funded counselling to children and young people within 35 local, surrey-based schools on a bi termly basis. We usually offer a counsellor for 3 hours per week, although this can be more depending on need and the size of school, as well as the age group that the volunteer counsellors need experience in.
We offer some part funded counselling on a self-referral basis for those who do not have access within their school environment or for those above school age. We currently support approximately 45 children, young people and their caregivers on a weekly basis.
We are looking for another Student/Volunteer Counsellor to join our small passionate and perfectly formed team working in Surrey.
Role Description
You will provide at least 3 counselling sessions to 3 separate children and/or young people per week at one school per term. You will then move to another school to continue supporting children on a similar basis for another term. We ask for your commitment to this (as a minimum) for one academic year. You may commit to more if you can. The schools will be either based in and around Tadworth, or in and around the Byfleet/Woking area.
The Matthew Hackney Foundation will provide bi-weekly supervision with our counselling lead who is a qualified and accredited child and adult therapist.

Key criteria required for the role;
Qualifications:
You will be a fully qualified Counsellor, Therapist or Educational/Clinical Psychologist or studying towards one of these professions at the following levels:
Diploma or degree in Counselling (minimum of Level 4 or above). You will need to have achieved your certificate of competence to practice or be working towards this. You must also have completed your NCFE levels 1 – 3 in counselling skills (or the equivalent).
Degree, MSc or MA in Counselling, Counselling Psychology or Psychotherapy - if you are in your first year you will have relevant experience of direct work with children.
Experience:
Counselling training must have, or have had, a therapeutic and personal development component rather than being purely theoretical or research based (as with Distance Learning courses). Examples of this include: role play, creative work with art, TRIAD techniques.
Preferably will have experience of working with children aged 4 – 16 gained through volunteering, caring for children or through a background in a caring profession such as nursing, social work or as a health visitor.

A passion for supporting the mental wellbeing of children & young people.
Willingness to make a minimum commitment to practice in school one half day per week (term time only) for one academic year.

Are you a proactive fundraiser and looking to support a small charity? The mission of the Trans Legal Clinic is simple; we provide free and accessible legal help to transgender and non-binary people in need. Our overarching vision is a society where all people have access to the legal resources required for gender self-determination and where gender diversity is not just accepted but embraced, with trans* people equipped with the necessary legal tools to navigate the world in their affirmed gender.
Service Introduction
The Casework department is the core of our organisation, working directly with clients by offering them support and advocacy. We have assisted over 70 clients since October 2023 and will be re-opening our referrals in January 2025 to new clients seeking our support.
Our Casework department is divided into four teams. Each team constitutes of a Specialist Caseworker who oversees 5-15 casework volunteers. Our four teams are:

Discrimination
Gender Recognition: legal transition and healthcare advocacy
Gender-Based Violence: domestic abuse and hate crime
The Gender Recognition team supports clients to navigate their social and legal transition, including assisting clients with changing their name via deed poll and updating identifying documents such as driver’s licenses and passports as well as obtaining Gender Recognition Certificates. You will also provide a healthcare advocacy service supporting clients to accessing gender-affirming care by direct liaison with healthcare providers including GPs, GICs, and private providers, ensuring that fair and supportive processes are followed.

Be fully aware of safeguarding issues and lead on client risk management within the service.
Update the Gender Recognition client database to ensure client records are updated within agreed timeframes and that they accurately record interventions and demonstrate progress.
Liaise with our team of solicitors when requesting advice and guidance on a case.
Reach out to organisations that specialise in gender recognition, legal transition, and gender affirming healthcare, to collaborate and share knowledge and resources.
Teamwork
Lead the Gender Recognition team by supervising caseworkers.
Support caseworks by setting clear objectives and holding team and individual supervisions regularly.
Set and moderate team performance targets.
Attend department meetings and contribute to discussions.

Research
Create and deliver training for current and future caseworkers in the Gender Recognition team.

Mind in Kingston is a local charity that supports people with mental health issues, and campaigns to raise awareness about mental health in Kingston and surrounding areas. We are affiliated to National Mind but operate independently in the Borough of Kingston upon Thames and surrounding areas.
The Information, Advice, Signposting & Referral Service is designed to provide enquirers with empathic advice, information and/or signposting.
Volunteers are extremely valued within our team and a vital part of our service delivery. We encourage and welcome people with lived experience of mental health issues to apply to volunteer with us; this could be personal experience relating to yourself, a family member or a friend; or in a professional capacity working with people with mental health issues.
We care about everyone’s wellbeing and as an integral member of our team, volunteers receive support to ensure they are trained and skilled up in their roles that they may take further in their career aspirations. They receive regular supervision and development opportunities as well as be part of our volunteer awards programme to recognise and celebrate their achievement and contribution to our community. Main purpose of the role:
