Blesma – The Limbless Veterans is the national charity and membership association for limbless serving and ex-service men and women and their dependants.
We help all wounded Servicemen and women who have lost limbs, the use of limbs or eyes, to rebuild their lives by providing well-being support and rehabilitation activities.
Blesma campaigns for our veteran’s rights and looks after individuals and their families by offering a comprehensive welfare system and financial assistance programme. The Activities and Events Administrator plays a vital role at Blesma, contributing to a small, dynamic team that delivers an engaging program of sporting and social activities to support Members' rehabilitation and well-being. This role will work alongside the Head of Activities on the Fulfilling Pathways programme, funded by the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme, to provide therapeutic activities. Key duties:

Programme Coordination: Serve as the primary contact for the Fulfilling Pathways programme, assist members, and introduce new members to the activities programme.

Your Roles and Responsibilities, but Not Limited To:
- Lead, develop, and support staff you manage by offering advice, guidance and an inclusive working environment.

- Set appropriate budgets and oversee, manage, and monitor these, to ensure the targets are achieved.
- Work with the Community Director and funding officer to identify and submit relevant grants, funding applications, and tenders/bids for commissioned work.
- Secure funding and increase unrestricted income streams to support on-going programme delivery and sustainability of the department.
- Oversee the implementation of a robust, high-quality data capture process to ensure the department can evidence impact and social value of its programmes through a variety of methods such as reports, case studies, testimonies, media articles, and feedback surveys.
You Must Have:
- Significant experience of line managing, leading and developing staff and volunteers creating a strong team culture and inclusive working environment.
- Success in building relationships both internally and externally, working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
- Proven experience of working at management / leadership level.
- Experienced in project management, ability to prioritise and manage multiple workstreams and completing priorities.
- Sound experience of setting and managing budgets.
- Proven track record of securing funding for projects or initiatives including local, regional and national funders through partnership work and / or bid writing.
- Ability to identify trends and analyse data to inform decision making.
- An experience of leading, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and safeguarding.
- A level 3 (‘A’ Level or equivalent) qualification or higher in a health-related subject, or other relevant subject area.
- A full and valid UK Driving Licence, as well as access to a vehicle for work.
- Influential communicator with a range of audiences, and the ability to use a range of different mediums, with written skills to an excellent standard.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure, meet deadlines and have an attention to detail.
- Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and relationship management skills to build and maintain strong professional relationships and connect with partners priorities.

You Ideally Would Have:

The Public Engagement Officer position is a public-facing role, based in the IOP’s London building at 37 Caledonian Road, and therefore the role holder will be on-site in London when needed to deliver the role’s requirements, particularly. - Ensuring that the IOP meets its strategic ambitions by engaging with diverse audiences around the UK and Ireland with a particular focus on communities around the IOP’s London building in Islington
- Supporting IOP Members and other volunteers to be relatable physics role models for young people

- An undergraduate degree in the physical sciences or equivalent knowledge and confidence in physics to underpin the successful delivery of this role

- Excellent presentation skills, particularly for audiences of young people

How will I be working?
The ’base’ location for this role is the IOP’s building at 37 Caledonian Road, near King’s Cross in London and regular attendance is needed to deliver the public engagement programme, especially during the summer period (June-September) when the peak of our activity takes place. At other times, depending on other commitments and the requirements of the role, the role holder has the flexibility to choose how they work under the IOP’s How We Work initiative.

Overseeing Build Up’s pipeline of new projects and working with our fundraisers and partners to bring them to fruition will be central to your role.
Who you are
We’re looking for someone who can work flexibly across projects, balancing immediate and longer term priorities. You’ll have people management experience and be able to delegate and provide extra support when needed. Build Up’s partners include both informal groups and local authorities, so we need someone who’s comfortable setting up effective working relationships with organisations of all sizes. We don’t expect applicants to have design and construction expertise – full supervision is provided by other team members.

Young people are often excluded from decisions about their communities, especially in areas of regeneration. At Build Up, we’re working to change that by supporting young people to design and build community spaces. We bring young people, builders and designers together, equipping young people with the tools and agency to have ownership over their neighbourhoods.
Key details
Salary: £41,926-47,008 FTE (£33,541- 37,606 pro rata for 4 days)
Hours: 4 days (30 hours) per week (flexible)
Benefits: 32 days plus public holidays (pro rata), 8% employer pension contribution.
Location / work pattern: We expect the successful applicant to work in our Elephant and Castle office at least 2 days a week. The role will also involve in-person site visits and meetings throughout the week.
Start date: 1st July (flexible)

Your Responsibilities:

- Facilitate Hands-On Learning - Deliver functional skills equivalent to GCSEs, co-producing lessons with students to make learning practical, engaging, and relevant to their personal growth.
- Safeguard & Empower - Ensure the safety and well-being of young people by implementing safeguarding policies, building trust, and guiding them away from exploitation, crime, and negative influences.
- Build Strong Relationships - Provide tailored 1:1 and group support in schools, homes, and the community, fostering authentic connections that inspire and uplift.
- Signpost & Connect - Identify when young people need additional support outside our remit and effectively direct them to the right services.

We are looking for a Societies Development Coordinator to provide accurate, consistent and innovative support to the 400+ clubs and societies, committees and volunteers. They will support the delivery of a variety of student led events and activities, empowering and enabling student leaders. This role will put students’ experience at the forefront of everything we do, focusing on providing excellent management of stakeholder relationships, problem solving and risk management with student activities.
The role is a full time and permanent contract. This role is based at our Bloomsbury campus with flexibility to work from home on a 40/60 basis (40% working from the office).

Role Summary
We are seeking a creative and dynamic Marketing, Media and Events Officer to join our team. You will be working closely with the PR & Marketing Manager to create engaging content for the company website, social media, blog and email.
The marketing lead will also be responsible for in house events, managing and booking advertising as well as maximising local PR opportunities through good copywriting and relationships on the ground.
Key responsibilities
- You will support the PR & Marketing manager with the implementation of the marketing plan.
- You will ensure the integrity of the business’ brand(s) Leeds Jewish Welfare Board and Leeds Kosher Kitchen and deliver a high-quality approach consistent with the brand positioning.
- Crafting engaging content for our website, blog, social media, and email marketing, including the creation of video content.
- You will maximise local PR opportunities, including the creation and circulation of press releases, cultivating key relationships, and maximising the impact of events.
Requirements
· 2+ years of experience in a marketing-related role
· Strong copywriting and proofreading skills
· A confident and creative communicator
· Experience with Mailchimp, WordPress, and social media tools
· Knowledge of AI-powered content creation to enhance marketing strategies
· Organised, detail-oriented, and full of ideas!
· A confident, enthusiastic and accurate communicator both verbal and written.
