We are a small dynamic team and which takes pride in our forward-thinking and transparent approach and we're seeking a new Programme Manager for current and new work in Sierra Leone and Kenya.
We work with people who are marginalised by society such as through their disability, gender, age, conflict or environment. We tackle the reasons for vulnerability and exclusion, building on the self-reliance and dignity secured through economic solutions to tackle stigma, discrimination and abuse of rights.
The successful Programme Manager will manage current programmes in Sierra Leone (working with a corporate on child labour and strengthening CBOs for more inclusive governance) and support the development of new programmes in Kenya and possibly Tanzania. The Programme Manager will play a key role in the development of APT Action on Poverty.
Reporting directly to the CEO, your key responsibilities will be: supporting contract delivery and financial management, developing/maintaining donor relationships, seeking new partnerships and project opportunities, proposal development and applications to institutions.
Experience of living and working in East or West Africa, a track record in proposal development and applications to institutions, knowledge of livelihood development and rights based approaches are key areas for this role.
This is a remote role, we meet up once a month in Evesham. We will also consider applicants who wish to work 80% FTE.

Purpose of the post
To maintain the office environment and provide related services so as to enable The Scottish Bible Society (‘SBS’) staff and other users of the premises to carry out their roles in a safe and efficient manner, whilst contributing to the day-to-day operations and wider organisational goals.
Person specification
You will have a good knowledge of building services, be practical and thoughtful, be helpful and willing to support colleagues. You will also have a good understanding of regulatory frameworks and a balanced approach to their implementation. You will have basic IT skills (MS Excel and Word).
Although there is no Faith requirement associated with this role, you will respect the Christian ethos and values of SBS.
Summary of the essential duties and responsibilities of the post
1. Building Maintenance
- Organise routine and periodic maintenance of SBS property and equipment, in accordance with an approved maintenance plan, whilst supervising the work of contractors, keep records up to date and periodically arrange for recurring services to be put out to tender.
- Organise quotes for non-recurring maintenance work liaising with and supervising contractors.
- To liaise with tenants over any property issues and to carry out landlord repairs where appropriate and necessary.
- To undertake minor maintenance tasks in Bible House.
2. Office Services
- Organise and liaise with the office cleaners, pest control, waste disposal companies and other service providers as well as provide janitorial and building supplies as required.
- To organise refreshment supplies.
- To order stationery and other office supplies on request.
- To organise postal deliveries, receive goods, check for damage and match goods received with delivery documentation.
3. Health & Safety
- Act as Health & Safety Officer for SBS, maintain all necessary paperwork, report any incidents to the Director of Finance & Administration and (where applicable) to the appropriate external authorities. (IOSH Managing Safely or similar accreditation would be beneficial but not a pre-requisite).
- Act as Fire Officer for SBS, keeping SBS’s Fire Risk Assessment up to date, arranging appropriate training for staff and Fire Wardens, organising periodic alarm test, fire drills, testing smoke alarms etc.
- Ensure appropriate levels of physical security within SBS premises and to liaise with appropriate agencies over thefts, break-ins and any other relevant matters should the arise.
4. Storage Unit & Reception
- Arrange (safely and accessibly) the storage of archive documents, financial records and other materials in the storage unit.
- Participate with other SBS staff in answering the door and welcoming visitors as and when required.
General Activities
- Play an active role in the team dynamic of Finance & Administration, assisting your line-manager with assigned tasks and being a general support to colleagues.
- Develop positive working relationships across all departments at SBS.
- Occasionally host external visitors, out-of-hours, who have requested use of the premises.
- Keep a stock of appropriate tools and equipment in good working order.
- Attend staff meetings and training in relation to both the job and general business of SBS.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Director of Finance & Administration.
Working Conditions
- Normal office hours, 3 days a week, 9am to 5pm based in Edinburgh.
- Flexible working hours can be agreed, in advance, with your line-manager.

Purpose of the role:
We are looking for candidates with experience of supporting individuals with barriers to work into paid employment. Within this role you will carry a significant responsibility, managing a caseload of clients from a refugee background and supporting them in securing meaningful employment, training, and education opportunities.
You will provide one-to-one personalised support, delivering quality Information Advice and Guidance (IAG), alongside ongoing support to ensure your clients have all the skills they need to get into work. This involves working with clients to produce individual action plans with clear goals and actions to overcome identified needs and barriers and provide a clear pathway towards the labour market.
You will work with clients online and by phone, as well as in person to monitor their progress towards their goals. Complementary support will be delivered through our volunteers who are trained in delivering employment advice, and you will book weekly appointments for clients, allocating time slots according to availability and the volunteer’s specialty.
You will also work with specialist referral partners to support clients to overcome complex barriers to employment. We offer a strong team environment, where your ideas and drive will be welcomed and where you as an individual can make a real difference to people’s lives.

A fantastic Sports Charity focused on supporting athletes financially via a range of programmes is seeking a new Head of Finance on a full-time basis. The salary offered is £55-60k per annum. The position is permanent, however the organisation may also consider an interim option for candidates immediately available.
The role is offered on a hybrid basis with approximately 3 days per week required in the office in London Bridge. You will manage a team of 2 (Office Manager and Finance Assistant) and the position reports to the CEO.
The position is predominantly focused on finance and you will be responsible for management accounts, budgets, reporting to funders, and full completion of the annual statutory accounts in line with Charity SORP, and all tax matters. The role also covers the management of the outsourced IT function and some HR tasks such as recruitment and being the point of contact for the outsourced payroll bureau.
The charity has around 25 staff and is predominantly funded by grants, trusts and foundations. They have strong reserves and are also growing their fundraising capability. Turnover has increased from around £5 million to £15 million in recent years.
The role would best suit a fully-qualified accountant with demonstrable experience of restricted fund accounting and charity SORP accounting in a similar sized not for profit organisation. The organisation aims to increase it’s funding and variety of programmes over the coming years, so the role represents the chance for growth and progress.
Duties will include:
-Prepare timely, accurate and insightful financial reports and management accounts for trustees and senior staff
-Provide commentary and analysis of the charity’s financial position and identify potential financial risks and mitigations.
-Identify cost efficiencies and opportunities to generate income through improved fund management.
-Lead the charity’s budget setting and financial oversight process.
-Lead and support the development of project budgets for fundraising and grant reporting
-Liaise with budget holders as necessary, identifying and resolving any significant variances.
-Lead the annual audit process and work with the Senior Management Team to produce annual accounts.
-Supervise all regular financial processing and ensure all financial procedures and policies are relevant, up-to-date and adhered to.
-Supervise preparation of monthly payroll and associated HR administration including holiday and absence reporting.
-Manage the Finance Officer and Officer Manager
-With the Office Manager, ensure that the office environment is safe, secure and compliant with health and safety legislation and supports effective working.
-Manage the relationship with all utility suppliers, the office landlord and other relevant parties.
-Take responsibility for the charity’s IT infrastructure, liaising with external providers and relevant internal staff colleagues to ensure that it meets the needs of the organisation.
Candidates requirements:
-Professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with significant post-qualification experience
-Prior experience in a senior level finance role managing an entire finance function
-Significant experience of financial planning and analysis; the ability to simplify complex financial information where necessary.
-Charity accounting experience, including the preparation of statutory accounts, and preferably SORP compliance.
-Restricted fund accounting experiene
-Experience leading an end-to-end external audit process.
-Familiarity developing, improving and implementing financial procedures and controls

You will identify and implement innovations to improve our events and other activities, manage relationships with funders who support these programmes and contribute to funding proposals. You will also engage with the wider grants, programmes and policy teams work, connecting in relevant researchers and sharing your expertise in career development support. About the role
The Development Manager is a new and important role at The NewBridge Project, which will support the effective management of fundraising and reporting across our work.
You will support the development and implementation of a fundraising strategy and evaluation framework, and work alongside a small and committed staff team to understand, evaluate and champion our work through compelling written reports and applications to new funders.

About The NewBridge Project
The NewBridge Project is an active artist-led community that supports artists, curators and communities through the provision of space for creative practice and an ambitious artist-led programme of exhibitions, commissions, artist development and events.
Our programme builds solidarity with the people around us, and is community-centred, experimental, collaborative and socially conscious at its heart. We work with our studio members, the wider artistic community and our neighbours to create a programme that responds to their needs and those of the local environment.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Fundraising
- Work closely with the Director and Programme Director to oversee the review, development and delivery of our fundraising strategy.
- Undertake research to identify potential new sources of funding from a variety of sources.
- Support and where appropriate lead on the writing of funding applications for core and project funding.
- Develop written case for support documents (such as case studies, needs-based analysis) that can be used for a variety funding applications.
- Input into the development and ongoing review of an ethical fundraising policy, in line with NewBridge’s values and ethos
- Work closely with the Director, Programme Director, and external evaluators, to embed and implement an evaluation framework into all strands of NewBridge’s work.
Funding Management & Reporting
- Oversee NewBridge’s obligations to funders and partners, through the production and submission of reports across multiple grant/reporting platforms. At present this includes:
- Arts Council England
- Newcastle University
- Newcastle Culture Investment Fund
- North East Combined Authority - Skills for Growth Project (see more detail below).
- Manage and update reporting and evaluation timelines, working with staff to ensure we meet external deadlines.
- Manage, update and prepare up to date budgets for funders and partners when necessary.
- Write reports on progress/delivery for funders and partners, that demonstrate impact and progress against outlined objectives
- Work with Communications Producer and relevant staff to ensure funders and partners are correctly credited across communication platforms and public spaces where appropriate.
Management of North East Combined Authority Reporting & Operations.
- Lead on quarterly and annual reporting for North East Combined Authority, this will include:
- Processing quarterly financial claims
- Revising budget/cashflow on quarterly basis
- Submitting written progress report, and updates on key performance indicators and milestones
- Work with project partners Newcastle University, including;
- Preparation for bi-monthly steering group meetings and monthly operations group meetings, including:
- Scheduling and set up for in-person, hybrid and online meetings
- Taking and sharing meeting minutes and follow-up actions from above meetings
- Leading on the assembly and dissemination of papers for meetings.
- Gather necessary information from university to be inputted into reports/evaluation.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Work in collaboration with team at NewBridge to capture qualitative and quantitative data on audiences, participants and collaborators (including social impact reporting, equalities and diversity monitoring, environmental impact, and audience data).
- Lead on evaluation administration, including review and implementation of systems for recording data/feedback and completing data entry.
- Attend events and activity at NewBridge in order to support with monitoring and evaluation.
- Work with external evaluators where applicable – at present this includes working with Ortus Economic Research to evaluate our North East Combined Authority Skills for Growth project.

We are looking for a Partner Centre Project Manager who will manage all aspects of TLC partner projects. The Partner Centre Project Manager will be responsible for delivering the objectives outlined in the strategy and managing the training/mentoring programs for partner centres.

Transplant Links is a small, flexible, and highly motivated team comprising a CEO, Director of Medical Activities, and Project Administrator. The Partner Centre Project Manager will report directly to the CEO, and collaborate closely with the Director of Medical Activities, working with over 50 NHS volunteers.
The Role
As we have expanded our global reach we need a Partner Centre Project Manager to develop and implement training programs in our partner centres worldwide. Primary responsibilities include project management of partner centres coordinating their training and resource allocation, and stakeholder communication (healthcare institutions, supporters, HCPs). This involves organising missions, where a team of UK volunteers travels to facilitate living donor kidney transplants in situ. These missions will be led and supervised by the project manager.
The Partner Centre Project Manager also assesses and addresses the evolving needs of partner medical centres, ensuring that the training programs remain pertinent and customised to the specific requirements of partner centres. They will monitor the program’s expenditure within agreed budgets and ensure compliance of the activities and expenditure with TLC policies, whilst also taking the lead on program reporting to supporters. Crucially, they will be responsible for liaising with local program leaders (doctors, nurses and hospital managers), volunteer HCPs from the UK and stakeholders in the field (often Health Ministries and hospital management).
Primary accountabilities include: the completion of missions within a given time frame; abiding by the policies and procedures in place to ensure the safety of TLC volunteers and staff; identifying and managing risks within programs and proposing mitigation strategies; moving each partner centre through the phases of development as per the strategy; assessing prospective partner centres; progress reporting and communicating performance; managing budgets and resourcing requirements

Role Requirements - Candidate Specification
We invite applicants with strong leadership qualities and an appetite for solving complex problems to apply to join our team.
