Background The Ubele Initiative was established in 2014 as an African Diaspora led intergenerational social enterprise. Our mission is helping to build more sustainable black and racially minoritized communities across the UK. Ubele is unique in that it was built from bottom-up and is intentionally an intergenerational organisation. Over the past few years, we have designed and delivered a wide range of local, regional, national, and international initiatives which seek to create and build community wealth. We support black and racially minoritized community led organisations and groups with their community assets (physical space, organisations, and people). We use social action, community enterprise development, participatory learning & skills development, and next generation leadership initiatives.
About The Role As the Time to Shine (T2S) leader you will make a direct contribution to two key areas of work: our intergenerational leadership programmes and our approaches to capturing and recording our social impact measurements. In order to meet the criteria for the T2S programme we are seeking candidates who are unemployed or underemployed. This role is designed to be an entry level role and therefore we recognise that candidates may have limited work experience but can have a wealth of experience from other activities and we would love to hear about how those skills can transfer to this role. The T2S leader will be introduced to and have the opportunity to practice using innovative approaches to leadership development, processes and models which support Black women’s and young women’s growth and confidence building as community leaders. This experience will support your own personal development and professional understanding of some of the approaches that can be used to support leadership capability building in our sector. You will add much needed organisational capacity to both areas of work enabling us to further build our emerging body of intergenerational work for which we aim to create a model. You will also help us to bring our data to life and for our social impact outcomes to reach a much wider audience than in the past three years through, for example, being supported to develop skills in storytelling, case studies, videography, vlogs and via our social media platforms.
Main duties and responsibilities
Leadership Development
• Programme co-design and supporting implementation: Develop and implement leadership development programmes tailored to the needs of Black women. This involves co-creating curricula that address both personal and professional growth, ensuring they are inclusive, empowering, and effective.
• Mentorship Strategies: Contribute to the design and implementation of mentorship initiatives that foster intergenerational connections. These strategies should help promote the transfer of knowledge, skills, and experience between seasoned and emerging leaders, supporting holistic leadership development.
• Support the design and co-ordination of a national Women of Colour Leadership Summit – April 2025 • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify leadership development needs and opportunities. Social Impact Measurement
• Data Collection and Analysis: Contribute to refining and enhancing our data collection methodologies to ensure accurate measurement of programme effectiveness. Supporting the development of robust systems for capturing relevant data and analysing results.
• Learning and then implementing creative data collection methods and processes to enhance reach and engagement
• Impact Reporting: Contribute to creating and maintaining impact reports that communicate the outcomes and value of our programmes. Reports should be clear, compelling, and supported by data, highlighting the achievements and areas for improvement.
• Programme Evaluation: contribute to using data insights to inform programmatic adjustments and strategic decisions. Regularly evaluate programme performance and suggest improvements based on findings to enhance overall effectiveness and efficiency. General
• To attend and participate in internal and external meetings including staff meetings and meetings with key stakeholders. • To attend relevant training to fulfil the requirements of the job.

Reporting: The T2S Leader will report directly to the Yvonne Field. Engagement will include regular meetings to review progress, set priorities, and address any challenges. Check-ins and periodic performance reviews will also be part of the role to ensure alignment with organisational goals and provide ongoing support.

Weekly hours 37.5 hours per week.

Flexible Working Location We are open to applications from candidates across the UK that are willing to travel regularly. to our London office based in North London. We currently operate a 2 days per week office minimum for full time staff with Thursdays being the anchor day where all staff should attend the office.

As a key member of the Learning and Development function, you will coordinate our range of learning and development programme for our staff and volunteers.
In delivering the role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of our core training programme, liaising with a range of sessional trainers, coordinating the logistics, maintaining our learning pages on the staff intranet and send out Learning and Development e-briefings to promote internal training.

In 2021 during the pandemic, our play ‘Sugar’ was commissioned for BBC iPlayer and was programmed on Way Out TV directly into 54k prison cells.

The London Programme Coordinator will be responsible for managing a caseload of up to seven partner schools, attending and coordinating weekly tutoring sessions, developing relationships with pupils, school staff and volunteer tutors and collecting data for monitoring and evaluation purposes. This role plays a crucial part in overseeing the quality of face to face and online tutoring sessions to ensure effective and impactful programme delivery.
Duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for the delivery of Action Tutoring’s tutoring programmes in partner schools, whether online or face to face. This includes working closely to manage and effectively communicate with all key stakeholders: schools, pupils and volunteer tutors; leading weekly face to face and online tutoring sessions; leading on reviewing and improving programme delivery, using data to reliably assess programme performance.
- Responsible for overseeing the quality of both face to face and online tutoring, engaging in quality assurance processes, and providing feedback to volunteer tutors to ensure effective and impactful delivery.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in partner schools, including members of the Senior Leadership Team and subject teachers.
- Update and maintain Action Tutoring’s database, including collecting data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, such as attendance records, baseline and interim assessments and end of programme surveys. Reporting regularly on key performance indicators.
Qualifications and experience criteria:
- Experience working with volunteers and/or young people
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Evidence of ability to prioritise and manage administrative tasks

You will indirectly support young people by ensuring that our Newcastle Centre operates safely and efficiently. You will be responsible for managing delivery space, facilities compliance and controlling office equipment and supplies. Having previous administrative experience is beneficial but not essential.
To be successful in this role, you must have a good understanding of the challenges young people within our target groups face, to assist them when they arrive in our Centre. In this role no two days are the same, you get to be involved with many different functions of the Trust and interact with everyone who works in the Newcastle Centre, this is why planning and organisation skills are a must.

In this role you will support the Hertfordshire sexual health team by assuming overall responsibility for the ordering and monitoring of stock and other resources, by posting free condoms each day to young people via our online service, posting and by accurately maintaining client management systems and electronic databases required for the programme to function. Job title: Employment and Engagement Adviser
Location: Hybrid, contracted to work at our Manchester or Birmingham office at least 2 days a week.

We are excited to pilot a new type of Employment Adviser role in our Services team, focusing on building relationships with local employers to support our job-ready clients in securing employment.
You will build networks of local employers and collaborate with our Employment Advisers to help clients with intensive job searches and applications, while managing your own caseload of work-ready clients.
We are seeking candidates with experience in engaging employers and knowledge of the local job market, including finding hidden opportunities.
The primary focus of your role will be helping individuals facing employment barriers, especially those who have experienced forced migration, find paid work. You will manage a fast-paced caseload, providing one-on-one support to clients online, by phone and in person to help them reach their employment goals.
In addition to direct client work, you will assist the team in identifying job opportunities and work with the Senior Services Manager to develop key employer relationships. You will also coordinate your clients access to volunteer-led support, scheduling mock interviews and practice sessions.

Since 2011, we have offered safety, support, advocacy, and empowerment to survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, and stalking. One of the core ways that we do this is through our DVA Car™ service and Helpline service.
Our DVA Cars™ provide a service whereby every Friday and Saturday night, the project worker works alongside a police officer, attending reports of domestic abuse offering support to victims.
Our Helpline operates Out of Hours giving victims somewhere to call when other services are closed. The aim is to offer independent support and advice to victims and survivors during that window of opportunity: the moment they make the choice to reach out for help.
The candidate will be passionate about supporting survivors of domestic violence and abuse and wants to play a pivotal role in helping victims at the point of crisis. You will be working as part of a collaborative and passionate team, all dedicated to helping women feel seen, heard, and understood.
Whilst experience and knowledge of domestic abuse is a benefit it is not essential - it is more important to us that we find the right person who can truly support and guide our clients.
This role comprises of two parts.
Part one:
· To provide an out-of-hours, face-to-face crisis response to incidents of domestic violence working alongside officers from Hampshire Constabulary.
Friday or Saturday: 17.00hrs – 03.00hrs
Part two:
1. To work office or home-based completing follow-on referral work from the above and support with the day to day running of the office.
Monday – 5hrs (between the hours of 8am -5pm)

The project support officer will support the brilliant work of our Wilder Landscapes team, a small but very active team within Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s conservation department. A lot of the team's work is off-reserve and project based, working with farmers, landowners, communities and projects beyond our nature reserves to protect and restore nature.
