The Legal team at Citizens Advice provides in-house legal support to national Citizens Advice staff, to enable the charity to maintain its reputation as a trusted charity partner. We do so via: enabling the delivery of legally compliant, efficient and cost-effective services to our clients; ensuring a common understanding of, and acting upon, our legal obligations and responsibilities as a charitable company; and contributing to the operation of our internal controls and management of legal risk. Our aim is to help Citizens Advice achieve its aims and objectives through offering legal support across the many different areas where the law and our organisation’s operations meet.
You’ll have a key role in advising and supporting national staff on a range of legal matters across a variety of workstreams, including in relation to our funding and governance arrangements, brand protection and business development opportunities. You’ll also support in the delivery of legal change projects, and building organisational legal awareness and capability through the delivery of guidance and training for staff via a variety of mediums.

You will be responsible for:
- Providing a high standard of stewardship for supporters, nurturing existing supporters, thanking donors, and supporting charity events, such as our supporter reception.
- Developing our charity fundraising appeals
- Developing and promoting the challenge events portfolio.
- Keeping the fundraising pages updated, helping to design and produce fundraising materials (flyers and fundraising packs).
- You will be working closely with the Fundraising and Development Manager and will be required to support the wider Communications team where needed with additional fundraising activities.
This position is home-based with occasional travel for fundraising events.
Initially a 12 month contract, but with the possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.
A driving license isn’t essential. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for events.
The successful candidate will be IT literate, an excellent communicator, highly organised with a strong attention to detail.
A background in fundraising is required, although this could be from voluntary work. An understanding of ME/CFS is desirable.

Stewardship
- Monitoring the fundraising inbox, acting as a first point of contact for a wide range of supporters and enquirers.
- Developing individual giving income through enhanced communications, great stewardship and supporting on fundraising appeals.
- Nurturing our regular givers and looking for ways to grow our regular-giving donor base.
- Completing thanking processes efficiently for donations.
- Developing and managing tools and resources to support fundraising events such as sending out t-shirts, posters, flyers, donation boxes and fundraising packs when requested.
- Liaising with the communications team to create promotional materials to advertise events through the website and social media channels to increase engagement.
Administration
- Keeping accurate records of all prospect and supporter interactions on our CRM system, Raisers Edge NXT.
- Optimising fundraising and donation opportunities at key charity events, researching and recording information.
- Supporting the Fundraising and Development Manager as and when needed.
- Working with colleagues across, communications and services teams to ensure a smooth flow of information to support fundraising promotion and engagement.

The Information Governance team are the champions of Data Protection and Information Governance within Alzheimer's Society. The team’s overriding objective is to enable all areas of the Society to use information appropriately whilst achieving the Society’s overall aim of creating a world without dementia.
The newly created Senior Records Management Officer role is an exciting opportunity for the role-holder to develop and implement standards and processes for the management of organisational records in compliance with applicable legislation and standards. You will help the Information Governance team to establish a culture of effective records management and support the Society in measuring and maintaining the quality of its records.
Working closely with the other members of the Information Governance team, you will develop a process framework for managing hard copy and electronic records within the Society, propose improvements to the Society's record management systems and be the first port of call for handling records management queries from within and outside the Society. The role
This important role sits within our Supply Chain and Logistics team, responsible for processing offers of surplus food from our food partners into our network of Regional Centres and the wider community. This role is essential in ensuring that the food we are offered reaches the thousands of charities and community groups we support across the UK.
The role is a combination of customer service provision and supply chain coordination with a strong data focus. You will analyse varied datasets to decide how food is distributed across our Network to ensure optimal and sustainable distribution. You will also be responsible for continuing and championing the high levels of customer service we provide to the food industry and our network of Regional Centres.
You will work closely with FareShare’s food suppliers, transport partners, and our Regional Centres to identify and overcome operational challenges to distribution. Main areas of responsibility
Food Industry Customer Service
- Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring offers are responded to and processed within agreed service level requirements
- Work closely with the Food Commercial Managers, providing feedback and reporting on service issues and attending meetings and site visits as appropriate
- Assist Food Team with insight and feedback from food businesses, capturing key account information in our CRM system
Regional Centre allocation
- Adhere to the requirements of the Network Service Level Agreement
- Work with the Supply Chain and Logistics Manager to match food supplied to Regional Centre needs, always working to maximise surplus redistribution and minimise waste
- Ensure that offers are allocated in an efficient and timely manner according to network needs and agreed priorities to maximise social impact of surplus food
- Using our CRM system, maintain timely records of accounts, allocations, offers and case management
- Maintain high standards of customer service to the Network and Operations teams and develop respectful and effective working relationships with the Regional Centres.
- Build your understanding of our Network and your relationship with Regional Centres through a programme of regular site visits in collaboration with the Network Development Managers
- Work with the Network Development Managers and Food Supply & Services Managers to identify opportunities to maximise and grow redistributed food volumes
Logistics and transport
- Work with Commercial Managers and hauliers to implement best practice processes and reduce costs for FareShare whilst maximising acceptance of food
- Work with hauliers to plan transport requirements and ensure that we are able to meet network demand
- Work with Regional Centres to coordinate and plan routes for internal FareShare logistics
- Reactively solve transport issues throughout the working day
Data and analysis

Managed by the Head of Operations, the role works closely with colleagues across UKHIH and Elrha to manage a portfolio of key relationships, grants and service contracts to a high standard. Citizens Advice Hounslow is a well-established charity operating in the London Borough of Hounslow, supporting over 15,000 clients a year. We have an exciting new opportunity in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support to provide welfare advice to support to people affected by cancer and those who care for them.
This post is funded by Macmillan Cancer Support and is aimed at assisting clients on the phone and in person from our offices and outreach venues including local hospitals.
Role purpose:
To provide welfare benefits advice, casework, and assistance in accessing other financial sources, to maximise the income of those living with cancer, their families, and carers. This may include disability benefits and other sources of financial support such as grants and help with health and travel costs.
Training
Successful post holders who are new to cancer, will be provided with Macmillan specific welfare benefits community of practice and learning opportunities once in post.
Delivery locations
A key aspect of the project is to deliver an outreach service at the West Middlesex Hospital, our offices in Hounslow and the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, with regular sessions to be covered by the team of advisers. Clients will also be seen in person for appointments at our offices, while telephone advice and video appointments can be done working remotely.
Main responsibilities
- To provide welfare benefits advice, casework, and assistance in accessing other financial sources to maximise the income of those living with cancer, their families, and carers.
- Assist clients to challenge benefits decisions.
- Liaise and negotiate with other statutory and voluntary organisations to progress the client’s case and ensure they receive all assistance available.
