Some of the things you would be responsible for as a Community Manager:

• Responsible for the admission welcome including assess new referrals, interviewing potential Companions, welfare and care of Companions, their integration into the Emmaus Community and the wider community at large, developing a sense of extended family.
• Lead and implement a culture which provides confidentiality, promotes professional boundaries, protects data, and safeguards Companions, Volunteers and staff.
• To manage support relating to Companion’s needs regarding their daily living requirements, physical and mental health, safety and personal development.
• To assist and encourage Companions to move into independent accommodation where appropriate
• Ensure that effective Safeguarding systems are in place and maintained, acting as the organisation’s Designated Safeguarding Person, with delegated responsibility for policy development, implementation, and reporting.
• Working in partnership with the Retail Manager, facilitate, encourage, and support companion engagement and training within the social enterprises to ensure they are viable businesses.
• Assist the Multi Site Property and Facilities Manager in the upkeep and maintenance of the Community, to ensure that it provides a pleasant and comfortable home for the Companions, whilst adhering to health and safety requirements.

The Deputy Contract Manager is responsible for the operational management of our specialist customer focused support services across the service. Working in partnership with stakeholders, external agencies and our Commissioning Team, you lead your Team to offer high quality support to customers who experience severe mental health diagnosis to maintain their tenancies and empower people to live their best lives and move to independence. Responsible for Safeguarding our Customers, you will promote sector best practice and legislative compliance to keep our customers safe within their environment.

The role provides direct line management, leadership, coaching and support to Support Workers, Specialist Support Workers and Night Support Workers, ensuring compliance with current legislation, contractual requirements financial regulations and Look Ahead Policy and Procedures.

You will ensure that your teams meet all statutory requirements and that all support is delivered in compliance with CQC expectations and Look Ahead's policy and procedures. You will take responsibly alongside the Service manager for maintaining compliance with the regulations and ensure that the appropriate notifications are made where necessary.

This role deputises for the Contract Manager and/or Area Service Manager and may when required.

The shift pattern for this role is 5 x 8 hour shifts per week, depending on service needs.

About the role:

• Provide psychotherapy sessions on outreach to female clients
• Flexible approach to meeting vulnerable female clients
• Deliver specialised outreach psychotherapy to female clients in the five boroughs we operate - Hackney, Tower Hamlets, City of London, Newham and Redbridge. A day per borough.
• Work collaboratively with Street Outreach Response Teams and other specialist agencies
• Offer both formal psychotherapy sessions and informal support, adapting to clients' needs in terms of scheduling and locations.
• Conduct street shifts alongside the commissioned Outreach Service, introducing and promoting our service to potential clients
• Support individuals transitioning into emergency, temporary, or long-term accommodation
• Support women who are rough sleeping
• Support females’ rough sleepers who are placed into our Severe Weather Emergency Provision (SWEP) during designated winter days/nights. 
• Provide support for Housing First clients in their tenancies.
• Provide support to female clients in their hostel accommodation

• Promote the service to individuals currently rough sleeping through joint shifts with Reset (drug and alcohol treatment service).

Assistant Manager

PLUS is delighted to be able to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to progress their career into a junior management role supporting a registered service manager to meet the challenges of supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex health conditions at one of the following, supported living or registered service

You will support the line manager of the service with the day to day service provision to meet service users’ aspirations.  Your role will be to guide and assist support worker staff and be responsible for the day to day provision of the service as directed by the Registered Manager. You would be required to ensure the smooth running of the services within the legal requirements of CQC and any commissioner requirements. Sutton Community Works (SCW) is a Christian charity in South London. Sutton Foodbank is one of our faith in action projects and we are looking for a dedicated manager to oversee the smooth delivery of this amazing project supported by almost 100 volunteers!

Our vision is for our faith in action projects to contribute to a safe and flourishing community in Sutton.

Our work focuses on areas including food poverty, young people, rough sleepers and homelessness. In all our work, our ethos is to love God and others in all we do and say, ensuring people feel seen, heard, understood, and helped.

Sutton Foodbank has been helping people in food crisis since 2009, and supported nearly 4000 adults and children in 2024. We are open 5 times per week across 4 different venues and people are referred to by referral partners across the borough. Details of our sessions can be found on Sutton Foobank website.

Sessions are run by our dedicated volunteers who come from local churches; and our dependable warehouse, restocking and transport volunteers always ensure food gets safely to where it is needed.

People visiting the foodbank come from a vast variety of backgrounds but all have faced difficult life experiences. Beyond food, we also want people to access support to improve their situation, so we commision Citizens Advice to come to the foodbank sessions to help people maximise their income and provide advice on topics such as housing, debt and benefits.

And as a Christian project we underpin everything with prayer, and actively offer prayer to our clients too. The genuine care and compassion from our volunteers helps to build trusting relationships so we can more effectively listen, pray and signpost people to other support. 

As our Foodbank Manager, you can use your leadership experience, excellent communication and organisational skills and Christian faith in a way that makes a real difference in people's lives.

Salary: £32,000 per annum (plus 5% pension commencing from successful completion of probation period).

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Working Pattern: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5:30pm. Occasional weekend or evening working required, depending on the needs of the Foodbank and of SCW.

Annual Leave: 28 days per annum, including bank holidays

Location: Work is expected to take place in a mixture of locations within London Borough of Sutton, including the office (Highfield Hall, 320 Carshalton Road, SM5 3QB), Foodbank venues and Big Yellow Storage (Kimpton Park Way, Sutton, SM3 9QS). Occupational Requirement: This role involves offering and participating in Christian prayer with members of the public and volunteers, leading devotions and group prayers, and providing pastoral care and faith-based leadership to Christian staff and volunteers. It is therefore an occupational requirement for the post-holder to be a practicing Christian.

Role purpose is to:

• Manage smooth and safe day-to-day delivery of Sutton Foodbank, supporting volunteers and clients and ensuring food stock is sufficient and managed safely (65%)
• Maintain and increase capacity of the service coordinating food drive activity, maintaining excellent relationships with food donors, volunteers and other external organisations, and assisting with onboarding new volunteers (25%)
• Contribute to the ongoing development of Sutton Foodbank, by delivering operational activity which aims to decrease people’s need to return to the Foodbank (10%)
