About us
Who we are
We are a Christian charity partnering directly with 22 churches and in relationship with a number of other churches in the London Borough of Sutton. We run a number of projects designed to reduce fear of crime; alleviate food poverty; enhance well being for students in seconday schools; reduce social isolation and tackle issues of rough sleeping and homelessness.
Our culture and values
We are a Christian Charity and faith is the key driver in all we do. Prayer is at the heart of how we operate as an organiation and in our projects. All our staff our practicing Christians and many of our volunteers. We are faith based but not faith biased and many of our customers and guests are of no faith or different faith.
We want to deal with the underlying issues causing someone to need our services and enable people not to have to use them. We offer guests a holistic approach looking at practical as well as spiritual ways to support people. We do signpost to external organisations including Christian communities who offer inclusive groups and activities.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Our approach applies to recruitment and selection, training, conditions of work, pay and all other aspects of employment or volunteering. After taking into account any occupational requirement, entry into employment and any promotion or change of post within SCW is determined by personal merit and ability, as relevant to SCW’s mission and purpose.
