Exeter Community Initiatives’ Transitions project aims to help people to become more independent and connected within mutually supportive communities.
We are looking for a pro-active and experienced Project Support Worker to co-facilitate the Transitions project.
This is an exciting, varied and responsible role, in which the right candidate will plan and deliver workshops, social meet ups, train, support and coordinate volunteers, and provide direct assessment and support to users of the service.
- Workshops that address various aspects of personal development and wellbeing, whilst bringing people together in a shared learning environment. This experience encourages the forming of relationships and support through the sharing of challenges, knowledge and experience.
- Volunteering opportunities where we match volunteers to individuals, ensuring that the support is tailored to the client's needs. This one-on-one involvement not only aids personal development, but also strengthens the connections within the community.
- Social meet ups and online support groups (which follow on from workshops). We bring individuals from diverse backgrounds together by facilitating social meet ups and online support groups. Our social meet ups help to break down social barriers and encourage peer support. Our online support groups offer people an ongoing support network and encourage accountability, and the intention is for these groups to evolve into self-sustaining communities, driven by the collaborative efforts and support within the group itself.
Permanent, part time role (22.5 hours per week)

PROJECT MANAGER
THE ABBEY OF ST EDMUND: A MILLENNIUM OF ENGLISH HISTORY IN WEST SUFFOLK
Thanks to National Lottery players, St Edmundsbury Cathedral, in partnership with West Suffolk Council and English Heritage, has received a Development Phase grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to conserve the Abbey of St Edmund ruins, deliver universal access through a network of footpaths, and build a heritage welcome centre within a line of listed buildings facing the town’s public space.
We are now looking for a Project Manager to co-ordinate and assist in the management of the development phase, which will last until February 2026. If we are successful in our delivery phase application, the role will continue for a further three years. We’re looking for someone with:
- Similar project management experience, at a comparable level of cost and complexity, especially working on Heritage Fund projects.
- Experience of working on projects with complex structures (we have three project partners: St Edmundsbury Cathedral, English Heritage and West Suffolk Council).
- A good understanding of audiences for heritage to enable activity planning and audience development to take place alongside the capital and design works.
Flexible working, but must be on site at least 2 days a week.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Working directly with parents/carers to help shape service- coproduction
- Leading on the recruitment and training of parent/carer volunteers
- Leading the organisation of drop-in sessions for early support
- Leading on marketing and communication through webpage development, marketing materials and social media, ensuring information is coproduced and meets the needs of families/professionals in Sheffield.
Your skills
You will hold a recognised professional qualification (degree or NVQ 4) in social work or social care, health or education. We are particularly interested to hear from applicants who have lived experience of SEND and/or experience of working with families with SEND in an educational environment, local authority, voluntary organisation.
An ability to work collaboratively with families in an inclusive way is essential to this post.

About the role
Sense has a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our Engagement team as our Campaigns Manager. This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week. This role will a hybrid position working between home and our office in King's Cross, London, with a minimum of 2 office days a week.
Sense campaigns to create a fairer society for disabled people and their families. Sense campaigns focus on the issues that matter most to the people we support, from the cost-of-living to social care. They are aimed at driving public awareness, engagement and positive change in people’s lives. We are looking for an experienced campaigner who is passionate about driving change, and able to lead organisational projects. You will play a leading role in campaign strategy for the organisation and help Sense really make an impact for disabled people and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on the development and delivery of Sense campaigns, working alongside the Head of Media & Campaigns and Head of Policy, Public Affairs and Research.
- Decide on campaign priorities and make recommendations on the most appropriate course of actions to achieve Sense’s campaigning and influencing strategy.
- Ensure Sense has a consistent narrative and that disabled people and their families remain at the heart of our campaigns, that Sense is a sector leader in terms of campaigning, and that we are compliant with new charity regulations.
- Lead on the evaluation and reporting back of campaigns to the team and wider organisation.
- Provide leadership and expertise around campaigning strategy and management to senior management and trustees.
- Be an active member of the Media & Campaigns management team, ensuring team and project plans and budgets are developed, managed and reported against.
Key skills and experience
- A passion and commitment to Sense’s purpose and values, with a genuine interest in and understanding of the issues and policies affecting our work and the individuals we support.
- Significant experience of campaigning work, designed to achieve change, that generates support and mobilises supporters.
- Demonstrable ability to develop, maintain and negotiate effective working relationships with groups and individuals with differing perspectives and agendas, and of working with other organisations on joint campaigns and coalitions.
- Detailed understanding of online and offline campaigning techniques, and knowledge of using campaign planning tools to ensure the success of campaigns.
- Understanding of the value of involving disabled people and their families at all stages of campaigning.
- Ability to project manage, including personal time management, planning, implementing, devising and prioritising multiple projects to meet agreed deadlines and targets, overseeing work across teams and monitoring and evaluating quality and impact.

Executive Director of Operations and Quality
Up to £85,000 - £90,000pa depending on experience, plus £5,750 car allowance pa.
Full time 37.5 hours per week.

FitzRoy is a pioneering national charity, committed to transforming the lives of adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs in over 100 services across England. FitzRoy have successfully faced the challenges within the social care sector and the charity has grown year on year to now support over 800 people, across 70 local authorities.
We were founded more than 60 years ago by parents of children with learning disabilities, who pioneered an alternative to institutionalised care. The Role
As we look ahead to the future, we are seeking to recruit a new Executive Director of Operations and Quality to bring the strategic thinking needed to help steer the path forward. As a visible leader, with accountability for Operations and Quality, you will navigate the ongoing challenges that exist within our environment, continue to drive forward on our ambition for outstanding quality, and first and foremost focus on enabling the people we support to realise their goals and dreams.
We are looking for a strategic and collaborative leader who can challenge and enable us to continue to be creative, agile and responsive in the delivery of our services. You will strengthen our reputation through our new three-year strategy which includes amplifying the voice of our stakeholders, and collaborative engagement partnerships with the people we support and their families. This will ensure those with lived experiences are heard and influence our decisions. You will lead teams to showcase our successes in a tangible way and ultimately drive our journey to outstanding. Development and planning for the expansion of our clinical leadership and expertise will enable our new mental health provision to become fully embedded in the organisation.
The Person
Essential Experience
- Substantial strategic leadership experience in a complex health or social care organisation.
- A proven track record of delivering significant, successful business development and growth within the social care sector at a senior level.
- Experience of leading service delivery and understanding the complexity of managing a geographically dispersed and multi-disciplinary staff team.
- Experienced in working collaboratively with a high-performing senior leadership team.
- Demonstrable experience of managing a quality agenda; driving innovation, development, and continuous service improvement.
- Experience in the delivery of strategic growth, and analysis of relevant opportunities.
- Good market knowledge of the disability and broader social care sector.
- Demonstrable experience of working at a senior level within a regulated environment.
- A proven track record as a credible ambassador.
- Significant financial acumen and experience in managing budgets.
- Substantive experience of leading impact monitoring and evaluation.

The role will require travel to our services and any other off site meeting location. Therefore, a full licence that allows you to drive in the UK is essential, as is access to your own vehicle for business travel.
