Media Trust Films bridges the gap between charities and filmmakers, creating powerful films that amplify the impact of grassroots organisations by leveraging the expertise of our talented directors, many with lived experience of the causes they’re supporting. 

We carefully match charities with experienced volunteer filmmakers who produce and direct short films about their designated charity’s work and impact. Media Trust oversees the production, guiding and supporting the charities and filmmakers as needed.

We also provide training for charities on the filmmaking process and distribution strategies for their finished film, as well as training for filmmakers on intersectional story-telling and working with people with lived experience.

Many of our films have been recognised for their creativity and high production values at the Creative Circle Awards, Smiley Charity Film Awards, Big Syn Sustainability Film Awards and Third Sector Awards. 

This year, Media Trust Films made over 40 short films for charities supported by City Bridge Foundation, Crucible Foundation, John Lyons Charity, The Mercers' Company and Santander Foundation. 

For charities that are not supported by one of the funders that we work with, we also make Commissioned Films for charities who have budget to make a film. 

About the Role 

We’re looking to recruit a Project Coordinator to join our award-winning Media Trust Films’ team. You will work closely with the Head of Media Trust Films and our team of Executive Producers and provide them with vital logistical and administrative support, ensuring all our projects are on track. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting charities to drive social change, who loves storytelling through film, revels in being part of a busy team and takes pride in being well-organised and detail-oriented.  

Place of work: Remote, with semi-regular travel to Central London for events and meetings (once or twice a month) 

Key responsibilities  

• Support the setting up of each film scheme by helping with charity research, processing charity and director enquiries and applications, helping with charity and director outreach, and supporting the team with diary and meeting management 

• Provide vital logistical and administrative support for the team 

• Create and maintain production schedules using our project management systems 

• Ensure all programme and participant data is up to date and logged in our CRM system 

• Support the monitoring and evaluation of programmes through online feedback surveys, data collation and analysis, and writing impact reports 

• Support with financial administration including processing invoices and budget tracking 

• Collect and file release forms, video files and production paperwork

• Support the marketing and promotion of the films 

• Facilitate electronic deliveries of materials to the charities 

• Ship equipment or data drives to directors and charities 

• Help the team provide solutions to accessibility issues and any barriers for participants

• Assist with any other duties as may be required on an ad hoc basis. 

What we are looking for in you 

Essential 

• Effective project management (planning, organisational and administration) skills with the ability to prioritise and manage deadlines and work across multiple workstreams at the same time 

• Excellent problem solving and time management skills

• Experience in data management and maintaining databases and spreadsheets 

• Keen attention to detail 

• Experience in requesting quotes from, and negotiating with, suppliers

Overall Duties of the Senior Supervising Social Worker will include:

• An appropriate social work qualification
• Up-to-date registration with Social Work England
• A minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience in fostering/family placements or other childcare settings
• Experience in supporting and supervising 10-12 foster families to meet the complex needs of the looked-after young people
• A proven track record in working with and on behalf of children, respecting and maintaining their individuality, and promoting their positive development.
• Experience in group work and/or delivery of training.
• Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations including the Children's Act and NMS Fostering Standards.

The Housing Advice Practitioner will by providing tailored advice and guidance through mainly remote online or phone support, as well as in person housing advice at a weekly housing advice surgery in the community. The role will include advocacy, coordination with legal services, workshops, and ensuring sustained support for families. 

This new Information and Advice Support Service is established to a) provide a light touch swift response service for less complex housing issues; and b) develop mechanisms for the early identification of emerging housing problems. 

About the role  

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and compassionate support worker to deliver housing advice and practical support to individuals and families. This role involves responding to enquiries, conducting housing surgeries, and running workshops to empower clients with the knowledge and skills to address their housing-related issues. The successful candidate will work with clients to identify their needs and offer tailored solutions to help them achieve sustainable housing outcomes. In this role, you will be working in partnership with community organisations and the council to coordinate tailored support for each client to address their housing issues. The objective of the programme is to provide advice and support to clients who have problems related to their housing and to improve wellbeing and awareness of tenancy rights and housing polices.

You will have experience of working with individuals with complex needs. We're looking for a kind, compassionate and resilient Move on Coordinator to join our Mental Health service in Islington.

Islington Mental Health Pathway consisted of one 24/7 supported living accommodations and three medium-low supported living accommodations. The Move On Coordinator will work across all services. The Move on Co-ordinator is responsible for managing and promoting Look Ahead's move on pathway across the Islington Mental Health Accommodation Pathway service, ensuring there are regular activities across all of our services that will not only build on residents' life skills but also enhance co-production within our services. The post holder will also be responsible for liaising with landlords and sourcing new move on routes for residents. The post holder will also be responsible for sourcing funding for activities both internal and externally and working with residents across our services to ensure that the activities ran are done so in a co-produced way. This will also involve liaising with and establishing relationships with agencies outside of the organisation with whom we can form joint working relationships that will help with developing life skills.

The Move on Co-ordinator will establish and promote the Look Ahead co-production model and also actively promote the move on pathway as a viable move on option to Look Ahead staff, residents and other stake holders such as local authorities and funders. The post holder will directly support new customers to move into their new accommodation and ensure support staff are fully equipped to inform customers about the move on process.

The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of housing and homelessness law and have good knowledge on the importance of co-production and the benefits of working in a co-produced manner. They will be someone who thrives on working under pressure, is a good team player and can demonstrate excellent networking and partnership.

What you'll do:

Develop links with private sector landlords and estate agents in order to source private rented stock and promote Look Ahead as a partner organisation.
Work in partnership with the local authority move on co-ordinator, creating innovative schemes to support long stayers in accommodation.
Attend and complete all relevant documentation for placement review meetings.
Maintain accurate records of service utilisation.
Develop and maintain an information resource to support operational staff in the resettlement of customers. This will include (but not limited to) Local Housing Allowance Rates, Partner Landlord and Estate Agency details and Rent Deposit Schemes. Act as the main point of contact for information and resources on the private rented sector.
