Shooting Star Children’s Hospices provides specialist care and support to families who have a baby, child or young person with a life-limiting condition, or who have been bereaved. About the role

A full time position has become available for an 18 month fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave position. This is an exciting opportunity to join the SPACE (Specialist Paediatric PAlliative CarE) service with a practice development opportunity. The post holder will join the team as a Band 6 and with support will gain clinical competence and leadership skills around complex symptom assessment, management and End of Life..

The post holder will provide holistic care and support to Children and Young People (CYP) with life limiting conditions and their families as a key member of the SPACE service.  This care is provided in the community, hospitals and at the hospice, the post holder will be required to work in all settings but will primarily be based at the hospice.

The opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and engaging candidate to join our team at Standing Together. If you are someone who shares our passion to improve the lives of survivors and victims of domestic abuse then we would love to hear from you.

The Health Trainer will take on a range of responsibilities to support the Training & Development Manager with delivery, design and development of a broad suite of training packages to commissioning services from across the health sector. The right person will have a passion for delivering online training and feel confident to facilitate health training independently. The role will sit within the Health team at Standing Together and will be managed by the Training & Development Manager The role will be supported by our Training Coordinator who will provide the administrative and coordination support for all training.

The role holder will clearly communicate to learners and support health practitioners to identify and respond to domestic abuse as part of a Coordinated Community Response. Training delivery will be a mostly virtual using Zoom and delivered using Mentimeter, but some in room delivery may be required going forward. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is confident to use these platforms to deliver online training or who is open to gain the skills they need to do so.

About the role

Richmond AID is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic person who can lead our multidisciplinary team Inclusion Team. The team currently has 6 direct reports and services include: BuddyUp, Spade gardening service, Mental Health Peer Support service, Connect to Tech digital training, Campaigning and peer group activities. 

There is a variety of skills and experience within the team which will require someone to use a flexible management approach, directing support to where it is needed most. We are looking for someone to not just manage these services, but to lead their development and widen our coverage across the borough of Richmond. This will predominantly involve supporting the people involved to be leaders of their own projects, improving delivery models, ensuring projects meet targets and quality standards. Some of the projects are also delivered in partnership with other organisations so an understanding of the responsibilities of contract management is essential. We have recently started a campaign project and experience of running effective campaigns would be an advantage.

About you

You will have strong leadership skills with experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team. You must be committed to the value of participative community engagement, have a great understanding of the needs of diverse communities, and a passion for social justice and supporting Disabled people.

You must have experience of service delivery, monitoring, evaluation and report writing and setting SMART outcomes for your team. You will know what it takes to set up and manage a project and ensure it meets the intended outcomes. Additionally, you’ll be confident in participative strategies and tools such as facilitating groups, arranging events, developing surveys, gathering views and responding to consultations.

You will be skilled in managing group dynamics and supporting your team to have boundaries with clients. You will also have experience of managing Safeguarding issues.

Ideally you will have experience of campaigning work, with a track record of delivering innovative digital campaigns that have led to real change.

About Richmond AID

Richmond AID offers 25 days annual leave plus eight bank holidays or pro rata of this for part time roles. Normal office hours are 9am to 5.15pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 5pm on Fridays. The Health Trainer will take on a range of responsibilities to support the Training & Development Manager with delivery, design and development of a broad suite of training packages to commissioning services from across the health sector. The right person will have a passion for delivering online training and feel confident to facilitate health training independently. The role will sit within the Health team at Standing Together and will be managed by the Training & Development Manager The role will be supported by our Training Coordinator who will provide the administrative and coordination support for all training.

The role holder will clearly communicate to learners and support health practitioners to identify and respond to domestic abuse as part of a Coordinated Community Response. Training delivery will be a mostly virtual using Zoom and delivered using Mentimeter, but some in room delivery may be required going forward. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is confident to use these platforms to deliver online training or who is open to gain the skills they need to do so.

About the Service

Our Nightlight Service is proud to provide urgent support, crisis intervention and emotional support to people experiencing a mental health crisis in Hertfordshire as an alternative to statutory pathways.

We provide support to adults across Hertfordshire 7 days a week, 365 days a year through our helpline, crisis centres, crisis cafes and a weekend Crisis House. We aim to provide a safe space for people in crisis to talk and feel supported, be listened to without judgement, access relevant support with problem solving and facilitate access to external services when necessary. As a member of our team you will work closely with service users in crisis by using a person-centred approach as to ensure that each individual is supported with dignity and respect.

The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s (HMN) Nightlight Mental Health Crisis Services are:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire.
• To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by Herts Mind Network and other third sector and statutory providers.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To provide an alternative pathway to people in distress and crisis to support better outcomes and reduce the demand on statutory crisis services and emergency services.

At the Crisis Cafes we promote and enable people to access support in a way that suits them, whether that’s through talking to someone or simply by providing a safe space to have time alone or engage with trained staff.

About the Role

Mental Healthcare Support Workers are key members of staff delivering the Nightlight Mental Health Crisis Service, taking part in a rota covering 7 days per week, ensuring the delivery of quality crisis support services and instilling Hertfordshire Mind Network’s values throughout the crisis cafe and helpline provision. Working closely with other staff (bank staff, volunteers), coordinators, team leaders and Crisis manager to ensure services are of the highest quality and support the continued growth and development of the service.
