The IRMF coordinates a pan-Islington network refugees and migrants’ organisations to develop capacity building support enable them serve their respective communities. The post holder should be an experienced and enthusiastic who will: -

· Deliver effective capacity building support to local RMCOs at all stages of development,

· Work in collaboration with second tier organisations to deliver organisational support to RMCOs including improving their governance and funding skills,

· Contribute to cross-organisation initiatives including bid/funding proposals, quality accreditations and projects 

· Able to build and sustain positive relationships with key stakeholders with good understanding of governance and policy issues relating the third sector

· Take personal responsibility for contributing to high quality standards in customer relations, service delivery, project management and communications

· Comfortable networking and representing the organisation,

Women and Girls Network (WGN) was established in 1987 and has spent over 30 years supporting women and girls across London affected by gendered violence. About the role

We are now looking for looking for an experienced and dynamic Housing Caseworker (Young People) to join our highly successful Advice Casework Service.

The Advice Casework Service provides trauma-informed, intersectional, woman-centred, rights and strengths-based advocacy and advice that supports survivors on their unique journey of healing and growth. The work is delivered through a commitment to an anti-oppressive, feminist framework that strives to address additional barriers and meet the diverse range of survivors needs, understanding the specific support needs of each survivor. We are passionate about social justice and being part of dismantling systems and structures which oppress survivors, and Caseworkers play a key role in identifying current issues affecting survivors in London and opportunities for change.

As a Caseworker you will work with young women (18-30) who have experienced any form of violence against women and girls (VAWG), providing medium and long-term practical, emotional and advocacy support. You will amplify young women’s voices and create a non-judgemental and creative space where survivors are free to be their authentic selves, safely explore their rights, options and impact of their experiences, and make informed choices about their future. You will manage a caseload of young women, as well as lead in delivering our one-off drop-in specialist practical support to sessions to young women as part of the Voice and Choice Project.

About you

The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing specialist advocacy support to young people, have an excellent insight into the needs of survivors of VAWG and to be passionate about delivering creative face-to-face sessions to young people. Reporting to: Head of Philanthropy in the Fundraising Team 

Location of Work: Home based. The post holder will be expected to travel to meet donors, travel to away days and team meetings in London. The role may involve some irregular travel throughout England and Scotland. Expenses will be paid in line with our Travel and Expenses policy.

Magic Breakfast is a registered charity that exists to make sure no child or young person is too hungry to learn. We provide nutritious breakfasts and expert support to primary, secondary, ASN/SEND schools and pupil referral units in disadvantaged areas of England and Scotland. Providing a daily school breakfast ensures that every child and young person feels included, equal and set up for success. Magic Breakfast works to be part of the solution to end child morning hunger for good through our campaigning, research and advocacy work with politicians and decision-makers.

JOB PURPOSE 

Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good the Philanthropy team’s role is to develop and deliver the charity's high net worth individual giving programme in line with Magic Breakfast’s strategic priorities to enable our organisational growth against our mission. 

We are seeking to grow income through further cultivation and stewardship of our potential and existing donors. Our High Value Giving teams are forecast to collectively raise £5.1m in 2021/22, up from £4.6m two years ago in 2019/20. The team includes partnerships with charitable trusts and foundations, corporate organisations, and high-net-worth individuals. 

Reporting into the Head of Philanthropy, this role will have a particular focus on ensuring that Magic Breakfast is offering the highest quality of donor care from start to finish, and building and developing our prospect pipeline.

We’re looking for a proactive person with excellent relationship building, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship skills as we seek to build our prospect pool, enhance or supporter journey and achieve our ambitious fundraising targets.

The Philanthropy Manager will have the opportunity to be innovative and creative, to create and test impactful donor journeys and engagement opportunities so Magic Breakfast’s supporters feel valued and can understand the transformational difference they are making to hungry children and their learning in the UK. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

Income generation and donor stewardship and prospect development 

• Manage your own portfolio of donors, providing excellent stewardship and strategies to uplift and secure multi year donations 

• Work with Corporate, Trusts and Individual Giving teams to identify potential major donors and high value regular givers within Magic Breakfast’s donor portfolio and implement plans to develop these relationships; 

• Work with the Head of Philanthropy and Prospect Researcher to build a Philanthropy prospect pipeline 

• Write accurate, inspiring and compelling fundraising propositions and reports for potential and existing major donors 

• Review and make recommendations for improvement of our existing donor journey, building a calendar of engaging content and touchpoints throughout the year. 

• Lead on devising, developing and organising bespoke events for donors and prospects 

• Complete timely event reviews to improve and inform future decision making and planning.

• Work in partnership with the wider fundraising teams to provide excellent supporter care to all event attendees and stakeholders. 

• Support the Head of Philanthropy to build relationships with senior volunteers to garner their support with hosting and supporting events to connect us to, and unlock, their networks. 

• Use our CRM database (Salesforce) to log KPIs, project and reconcile finances and manage supporter relationships 

• Use KPIs to adapt strategies and drive activity 

• Be responsible for ensuring an up-to-date bank of engaging content and materials for existing partners, including but not limited to, commissioning video content, compiling reports and building case studies. 

• Scan the external environment for trends, insights, ideas and best practice that could benefit the High Value Giving teams and Magic Breakfast’s work, making recommendations for improvements and leading on opportunities as they arise.

Internal 

• Work with wider Fundraising team to help create and deliver cross departmental  events, and identify referral opportunities (to Trusts and Corporates) 

• Develop strong relationships with Service Delivery and Policy and Engagement colleagues, involving them in meetings with donors where appropriate to strengthen those relationships and engage them further 

• Work with Service Delivery to identify, plan and co-ordinate school visits for donors and prospects 

Financial processes, reporting and due diligence: 

• Ensure all donations are thanked and recorded in a timely way, and logged accurately on salesforce 

• Support Head of Philanthropy in accurately forecasting philanthropy income for each financial year, and ensure forecast income is updated monthly. 

• Contribute 

•  to the philanthropy budget and goal with wider awareness of org and F&D goals 

• Work with Prospect Researcher to ensure all due diligence checks on donors are completed, and that they meet our criteria in our ethical fundraising policy, flagging any risks upwards for resolution. 

General 

• Contribute to team meetings, sharing best practice and supporting team members where necessary 

• Help to maintain a positive working environment; keeping the vision of Magic Breakfast at the heart of everything we do 

• Uphold a culture that keeps children and young people at the heart and encourages openness, collaboration, bravery, compassion and a solutions-focussed approach

PERSON SPECIFICATION 

Knowledge and Experience 

• Experience planning and managing meaningful donor cultivation and stewardship events to achieve strategic objectives 

• Experience delivering Gala or large special events with proven financial results 

• Experience of managing income and expenditure budgets 

• Experience of working with external event operations crews and contractors

• Experience of management of event and volunteer staff

About the FCLP

upReach’s Future Charity Leaders Programme (FCLP) is a graduate programme combining delivery work (supporting our Associates) with exposure to a range of aspects of charity management. 

As a Programme Coordinator on the FCLP you will be delivering personalised employment-focused support to a cohort of approximately 80 Associates, helping transform their lives by equipping  them with the necessary skills to secure a top graduate job. During a typical week, you should expect to be working across a range of projects including 1:1 undergraduate coaching, group workshops, webinars (we refer to them as Video Forums), partnership management (both with university partners or employer partners) and more!

In addition to this, the programme offers the opportunity to develop skills in key areas of charity management by participating in 3 rounds of six-month rotations. After your initial 18 months and the completion of 3 six-month rotations, you will have the opportunity to undertake an apprenticeship to further develop your leadership skills.

Throughout the programme, you will receive dedicated internal training developing your leadership skills building your confidence in the role.

Through our partnership with The Circle Line, you will be part of a supportive peer group, offered regular personal development training workshops online and in-person on their '12 Tools for Life'. You will also be able to choose your own practitioner to support you with 1:1 sessions throughout the programme to help you unlock more of your unique potential.

What will I be doing?

The FCLP is a fast-paced but rewarding role. Programme Coordinators spend 80% of their time (4 days per week) working directly with associates to enhance their career knowledge and skills and 20% (1 day per week) on a charity management rotation (or an apprenticeship after 18-months). No two days are the same, but your responsibilities may include:

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with Associates, helping them to achieve their career goals 

• Developing and delivering professional development-focused support

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join SJA’s Bid Team, managing and producing tender responses across a variety of business areas including Commercial Training, First Aid and Health & Safety Supplies, Events, Urgent & Emergency Care, and other services. The role of the Bid Manager is to support the organisation in achieving revenue targets, business growth and strategic objectives through managing the Bid process and ensuring completion of high-quality tenders within the stipulated timeframes. Every win helps us to support and deliver more lifesaving initiatives throughout the country.

You will maintain and develop a bid library, tender pipeline and supporting processes, sharing best practice and learnings from bids which are won and lost whilst also analysing trends from tenders and recommending improvements or change to optimise the number of bids for which we can tender.  

You will be driven and self-motivated with the ability and proven track record in producing high quality and timely tender submissions. A team player with excellent communications and writing skills you will also possess the ability to prioritise, plan and coordinate projects accurately and assess financial risk as an essential part of this role.

• Experience in managing, writing, or coordinating bids, tenders, proposals, or grants 
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise work to tight deadlines

About the Role 

Manage the Bid Management process, ensuring all bid documents meet deadlines and have undergone appropriate levels of scrutiny. Chairing and organising bid kick off meetings with internal stakeholders. You will need to feed the information into the Bid Writer in a timely and organised fashion and ensure all bids are of consistent high quality to meet the customer or commissioner’s expectations.

• You will also, where required, need to lead on writing, creating and preparing expressions of interest, prequalification questionnaires, ITT responses and standalone proposals and presentations working closely with operational/technical specialists within the organisation & ambulance operation to ensure excellence in quality, accuracy and presentation
• Lead on the creation and support bid presentations; including the preparation through to participation of delivery to key decision makers
• Maintain the Bid library working with functions and the operation to collate relevant, up to date supporting information for proposals, ensuring its accuracy and accessibility
• Complete the bid/no bid tool and agree with relevant key stakeholders to ensure any tenders are aligned with both the relevant departments strategy, operational capability e.g. skills, vehicles and capacity

About the Role

The Assistant Reserves Officer is one of our team managing and developing the Trust’s nature reserves for people and wildlife.  Your work place includes internationally recognised wetlands and woodlands along with nationally important meadows, chalk grasslands and heathland across Hertfordshire and Middlesex.

You will need to have strong experience in practical habitat management, including the use of power tools and machinery, such as chainsaws, brush cutters and BCS mowers. You will have experience of working within a dynamic team and leading volunteers. You will need to have a keen interest in wildlife and preferably a knowledge of the habitats in our area.

No two days are the same as an ARO at HMWT; you will get the opportunity to utilise and develop your practical habitat management skills across our nature reserves including tree felling, coppicing, scrub clearance, hay cutting and pond/ditch management. You will also undertake the maintenance of site infrastructure; assist with the management of livestock; and perform surveying and monitoring of habitat/species, tree safety and infrastructure. These tasks will be delivered working closely with members of the nature reserves team; our volunteer wardens and our practical conservation volunteers.

Willingness to travel throughout our work area and flexibility to work occasional irregular hours is required for this post.

Union Chapel has been running an important project to assist asylum seekers resident in Islington contingency hotels.

With funding made available by Islington Council, we provide wraparound support in the form of orientation workshops; health and wellbeing; information relating to the asylum process; ESOL classes; social activities and befriending.

Union Chapel is a church with a strong commitment to social, economic, racial and climate justice. Union Chapel is located in Compton Terrace, N1 but the bulk of the work will take place either in the hotels or in premises close to them in Kings Cross.

The post holder will work closely within the Church team and alongside the Margins staff, especially with our Social Justice Worker.

This post is part time – 3 and ½ days per week.  Some early evening work may be required.

Run regular ESOL classes and organise new groups according to students’ needs

• To provide advice and casework at OISC Level 2/3 on immigration, nationality and asylum law.

Specific Duties

• Manage a complex caseload across the field of immigration, nationality and asylum law.
• Adhere to casework procedures as outlined in LRMN’s policies, the OISC and / or Solicitors Regulations Authority (SRA) standards and the Advice Quality Standards (AQS).
• Interview and advise clients regarding immigration and asylum law procedure, and practice in a sensitive and professional manner.

About this vital role

Our Pantry project will support and engage with individuals and families providing them with positive empowering support to address issues such as wellbeing, housing, debt, and employment.  People using the Pantry pay a weekly subscription and, in return, are able to access an abundance of affordable, nutritious food and added support. 

The Pantry Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day running of the Pantry, including carrying out and complying with all health and safety procedures and policies, ensuring stock is stored and managed in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations and providing nutritional and meal planning support and where needed healthy eating plans.

As well as supporting, managing and working alongside a team of volunteers, you will also positively support clients with a range of practical issues, including benefits and debt advice and wellbeing, provide emotional support around areas such confidence building and developing resilience, plus develop and maintain relationships with partner agencies.  Managing the completion of all new client inductions, including Initial Needs Assessments, Risk Assessments and Action Plans, and promoting the service within the local community, arranging promotional events as needed, are also key duties.

• Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene and Advice and Guidance Level 3 qualification
• Knowledge of food storage and hygiene best practices, including stock rotation principles
• An understanding of variety of cooking techniques and the ability to advise others on how to cook on a budget
