We are looking for a Senior Manager – Policy, Government & Evidence Generation. This is a key role for Youth Futures Foundation as a What Works Centre. Reporting to the Head of Public Policy, but working closely with Evaluation and Public Affairs colleagues, this is a unique role, sitting at the intersection of our policy, government relations and evidence generation work. The work of the Public Policy team will focus on the following strategic themes for the organisation:

• Barriers and Discrimination in Employment
• Place based change
• Mental Health and Wellbeing
• Early Intervention and Transition
• Apprenticeships and Vocational Training
• Employment Support Programmes

You will lead and manage our work in two key macro areas:

1. Evidence generation opportunities – Engaging with national and local government on evidence generation partnership opportunities, working with the Evidence and Evaluation team to identify new opportunities and supporting the brokerage of trials to test interventions to support marginalised young people.
2. Regional policy – Managing our policy work with regional and local government across the youth employment agenda

This role can be based at any of our hubs located in London, Birmingham or Leeds.  We currently operate a hybrid model of two-days per week in the office and three-days from home.

About the Role

We are now recruiting for an experienced Director of Operations to play a crucial role in guiding our driven and committed team as we shift our culture and infrastructure, upholding our vision, mission, principles, and values.

The post holder will work with colleagues to develop, implement and review Hibiscus’s strategy and plans, particularly as they impact our operating and finance models. They will be responsible for developing and monitoring the annual business plan, reporting progress and providing reliable structural, financial and people management. They will support the CEO in building and instilling a sense of unity and purpose into the work of the organisation, and represent the operational work to the Board. They will be responsible for the efficient running of operations and central functions, conducting risk assessments, monitoring performance and reviewing procedures, with a particular focus on overseeing the effective financial management of the organisation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for financial planning and producing financial budgets for the organisation, alongside monitoring projects from start to finish, preparing costings for funding applications, agreeing contracts and grant terms, monitoring deliverables and co-ordinating timely reporting. They will oversee the production of quarterly management accounts and yearly finance audits, and communicate the financial landscape of the organisation to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Board. The Director of Operations will play a key role in risk and compliance, with a focus on data, safeguarding, policies and procedures, and legal and statutory requirements. They will work to increase the effectiveness of our operations, whilst supporting and contributing to the fundraising efforts of the organisation. A key element of the role will be to work to integrate our workplace culture into HR processes and procedures, modelling a fair and open management approach that ensures trusted relationships are embedded throughout the organisation.

About you

The successful candidate will have significant experience of strategic financial planning and managing organisational finances. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, data protection, Charity Commission and Companies House requirements, alongside other major compliance areas. This will include demonstrable skills around change management and a strong understanding of risk management. The programme Manager (maternity cover) will play an important role in supporting the implementation of Good Neighbours UK (GNUK)’s strategy and ensuring that projects led by GNUK and implemented by field countries are managed effectively and efficiently. They will also play in important role in designing new projects. 

Excellent writing and verbal communications skills are critical for this role. Key to its success is the ability to develop and maintain good relationships with funders, partner organisations and other Good Neighbors alliance members.

This is a full-time fixed term maternity cover role for 8 months starting in January 2025. We will consider applications from individuals interested in a freelance contract.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Project management

• Support GNUK’s fundraising team to prepare funding proposals for UK and overseas projects.

o Undertake field/needs assessments for projects.

o Ensure programmes and finance teams in implementing partners are working together to develop budgets and logframes in a timely manner for funding proposals and advise on multi-project cost effective strategies to cover country budgets.

o Manage due diligence and MoUs with implementing partners

• Manage the implementation and monitoring of overseas projects ensuring project activity plans and risk registers are in place, monitor activity progress, review field country financial and narrative reports, and track key milestone information.

• Ensure compliance with internal finance, accounting, procurement policies and procedures.

• Support and build the capacity building of field country grants and programmes staff in all aspects of project cycle management.

• Liaise with external organisations (NGOs, community groups, researchers and consultants) to deliver GNUK’s projects.

• Monitor project budgets and expenditure.

• Prepare periodic narrative and financial reports for GNUK and donors.

• Undertake periodic field visits for purpose of monitoring projects.

• Ensure project exit plans are in place and closure of projects in keeping with donors contracts.

Programme development:

• Contribute to the development of GNUK’s mid to long term strategy, 3-year business plan and annual work plans.

• Participate in GNUK’s annual budget development process.

• Support the implementation and monitoring of GNUK’s programme activities.

• Keep up to date on external changes to the economic, social and political context in the UK that could impact GNUK’s work.

• Support the organisational risk management process.

• Support the rollout of GNUK’s marketing/communications strategy.

• Liaise with GPC on project implementation and programming requests

• Prepare periodic reports for GPC and donors.

Safeguarding

• Ensure the role of Safeguarding focal point for GNUK

• Prepare GNUK’s annual safeguarding reports

• Support GN field countries and GNUK partners to develop and put in place safeguarding policies and procedures.

• Oversee the adoption and application of GNUK’s safeguarding policy in projects.

• Promote and adhere to all GNUK’s policies, procedures.

About the role 

Role purpose 

The main purpose of the programmes team is to grow, develop and deliver all aspects of the day-to-day relationship management of: 

• Schools and colleges running the Career Ready programme

• Local employer supporters, corporate partners supporters, other key local stakeholders and networks 

Each Regional Manager is responsible for a local patch of schools and colleges and a portfolio of employer partnerships. Regional Managers are also responsible for building and maintaining a local network of employer supporters and seeking opportunities for new employer support. 

This role will work with partners across the Greater Manchester region.  The schools and colleges the Regional Manager will support are currently Oldham College, Pendleton 6th Form College, Salford City College and Eccles 6th Form College. 

There will be opportunities to be creative, as well as being autonomous in how you run and develop the programme with the Career Ready schools and colleges in your area.

As you will be regularly required to attend different locations in the Greater Manchester area in order to deliver your role, we ask that candidates live within a 25-mile radius or approximately 30-minute travel time of one of the centres (Schools and Colleges) they will be working with.

Salary and Benefits 

Salary: £34,500 - £37,000 FTE, Pro Rata for part time hours. 

This role can be offered on 28 to 35 hours per week, permanent, remote with regular travel across Greater Manchester.

Role Purpose

The Senior Accountant will be part of the Khalsa Aid Management Team and will report to the CFO.  You will provide financial leadership in all financial areas including production of monthly accounts; financial controls; general accounting; budgets; financial planning and analysis; policy management and adherence; compliance; risk; exchange rate management; key business and financial processes; cost management and auditing. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the organisation’s financial health, compliance and efficient operations. 

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Operational Management

• Preparation and approval of all financial reporting materials and metrics; including monthly Business Performance Report, KPI’s, and Management Accounts, Project Aid reporting as well as annual financial reports
• Oversee budgeting, and the implementation of budgets, setting goals.
• Present operational metrics to monitor progress on the efficient spending of KAI Charity Aid funds. Implement a programme of timely corrective actions where necessary thereby implementing best in class practices
• Ensure that financial records and systems are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and are compliant with Charity reporting requirements
• Ensure compliance with organisation policies and procedures, a robust controls environment is in place and that approval processes are adhered to
• Manage cash flow and exchange risk including proactive working capital management and accurate cash forecasting
• Direct all financial, project-based, and departmental accounting including foreign operations

Team Management

1. Day-to-Day Financial Operations:
   • Monitor bills, invoicing, donations, and other transactions.
   • Oversee the work of the Finance Assistant.
   • Register invoices from suppliers and service providers for payment.
   • Handle various donation platforms (e.g., JustGiving, Enthuse, Worldpay, Donorbox).
   • Post and review month-end journals, accruals, and prepayments.
   • Process purchase orders and bills.
   • Answer supplier and donor queries.

2. Banking and Reconciliation:
   • Enter payments in the bank for authorization.
   • Complete and check bank reconciliation for various accounts using XERO.

3. Cash Flow Management:

• Technically and managerially competent with impact awareness of specialist areas including accounting, controls and governance, audit, ethics and risk management
• IT literate – Microsoft, finance and management accounting systems, ERP systems
• Experience in XERO and Gift Aid will be an added advantage

Emmaus Oxford is looking for a Charity retail Deputy Store Manager to join our retail management team running our large charity superstore in Cowley Oxford. Emmaus provides housing support and meaning occupation in our social enterprise to up to 28 ex-homeless men and women [known in Emmaus as Companions].  As well as providing retail management the role also involves coaching and training companions and working closely with our team of Progression Workers and Learning & Development Manager. Emmaus collects donations of furniture and household goods from across Oxfordshire and these are sold in our superstore in Cowley and through our online sales business. Proceeds from sales make a major contribution towards our housing & support service. The role is Fulltime [37.5 hr per week] will involve some weekend working and key holding responsibility. We have 12 years’ experience delivering 1:1 tuition, working with schools and Local Authority partners across the country, reaching hundreds of pupils annually. 

As a member of the Fair Education Alliance, we believe in providing meaningful educational provision to students whose needs may not be best met within a traditional classroom environment, those who aren’t currently accessing education, or who benefit from additional 1:1 support. We work with over 200 qualified teachers to provide academic, subject specialised and individual tutoring and mentoring for children of all ages.    • Provide oversight to ensure that administrative tasks are completed efficiently, supporting smooth client interactions and consistent follow-through.

   • Work with other leads like allocations and recruitment to ensure we can fulfil referrals

   • Foster a strong working relationship between bid writers and recruitment to ensure we can find tutors and go for the right bids. 

5. Bid Management and Process Improvement

   • Oversee the preparation and submission of tenders and bids, working closely with administrators to ensure high-quality and timely submissions.

   • Continuously review and improve internal processes to optimise bid management, client onboarding, and service delivery.

   • Report on bid submission performance, review client feedback to continuously improve. 

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Detailed knowledge of the UK Education Sector.

• Proven track record in client relationship management, with experience in sales or partnership development roles.

• Strong communication skills, particularly in face-to-face and telephone interactions, with the ability to build rapport quickly and maintain long-lasting relationships.

We are looking for someone to join our team as HR Operations Manager. The HR Operations Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the employee lifecycle and employee experience here at Battersea, developing and aligning HR practices with Battersea’s strategic objectives. 

The role ensures the efficient and customer focused functioning of the department’s daily operations, with oversight of the resourcing team and leading on policy review and development, the continuous improvement of people processes, HR compliance, and budgeting and contract management. It will also lead to the development, coordination and delivery of key projects which enable the delivery of our People Strategy.

The ideal candidate will be Level 7 CIPD qualified (or equivalent through experience), with experience in a HR management role, successfully leading, managing, motivating, and developing a high performance team.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference, and dedicated to achieving excellence.  This role seeks a highly skilled and experienced manager with a background in supported housing to lead across the organisation in quality assurance and regulatory compliance.  We are looking for a strong and capable team player to work alongside our Operations Manager and group of Registered Managers across our residential care homes for older people and housing communities for women and young people.  As a line manager for our community leads, previous people management experience is essential.

Working to help Keychange deliver the best support to our service users, this will be a varied role, including ensuring that our services comply with regulatory requirements, overseeing the delivery of our quality assurance framework, empowering our registered managers to deliver the highest standards of care and support, and assisting our Director of Operations in the smooth daily running of all operations across our nine community sites.

You have an in-depth understanding of charity finance regulations and VAT implications (particularly TOMS) and proven experience in financial reporting, forecasting, cash flow management, budgeting, and controls. You have strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with an eye for detail and high standards.
