Job Title: Head of Fundraising
Team:Supporter Engagement & Experience
Location: Hybrid (split between home-working and either London, Cardiff or Edinburgh)
Salary on appointment: £52,958 -£58,254 per annum
Context and purpose of role
To lead from the front, to build and embed a sustainable, long-term fundraising strategy which generates the income required to further the Ramblers charitable mission. To bring leadership and cohesion across a variety of fundraising programmes; viewing things through an audience lens, and optimising income from individual giving and legacy fundraising; income from corporate partners, trusts, foundations, lotteries and other funding channels.
Key Responsibilities
- The post holder will share accountability with the Director for delivering income targets from fundraising – a significant proportion of the organisation’s overall income.
- The post-holder will be accountable (with delegated authority) for managing all fundraising-related activities, together with fundraising income and expenditure budgets - a significant part of the organisation’s resources. They will be accountable for delivering income growth against a healthy return on investment, within budget.
- During a time of organisational change, bring exceptional leadership to a growing fundraising team. Foster a culture of excellence, accountability and teamwork, where vision is shared, service standards are exceptional and success is celebrated. Build capacity and expertise, managing the performance and personal development of team members.
- In collaboration with your Director, develop and implement the Ramblers fundraising strategy, building a strong case for support that is aligned to the Ramblers strategic priorities and vision. Build and embed a cohesive plan and pipeline to generate sustainable, long-term growth from a diverse range of income streams including appeals, committed giving, legacies, corporate partnerships, trusts, foundations and society lotteries.
- Develop and oversee the charity’s individual giving and legacy fundraising programmes, ensuring the necessary expertise, systems and data management are in place to optimise income generation from appeals, committed giving, gifts in wills and in memoriam donations from a loyal supporter base.
- Develop and embed the Ramblers supporter acquisition strategy to expand our reach and relevance. Oversee the creation of integrated, multi-channel fundraising campaigns, using a test-and-learn approach to optimise conversion rates, ROI and lifetime value, by attracting, retaining and reactivating donors.
- Ensure the charity is maximising income through charitable trusts, foundations and other grant-giving bodies, nurturing and maintaining positive relationships with existing and potential funders. Developing an active pipeline of new target trusts, crafting compelling and persuasive funding applications, and ensuring that appropriate projects are prioritised to present to potential donors.
- Ensuring that relationships with potential, new and existing corporate partners are developed and nurtured to maximise mutual value and benefit, with strong account management and innovate programmes that maximise income generation.
- Oversee the charity’s partnership with People’s Postcode Lottery, providing excellent account management, impactful communications and PR, and a strategic portfolio of lottery-funded projects that deliver and demonstrate lasting impact for the Ramblers. Complete the annual Trust application for funds.
- In collaboration with peers, use evidence-based insights to evolve the supporter retention strategy, to deepen the Ramblers’ relationship with our supporters, to increase loyalty, advocacy and lifetime value. Harness business intelligence tools, digital platforms and a single-customer view to increase donor engagement.
- In collaboration with peers, ensure the Membership Services Team continues to evolve in a new era of member and supporter care, with the right systems, processes and approach, to ensure the best possible standards of stewardship for our donors.
- In collaboration with the team, build and implement annual fundraising plans and identify required resources to support the delivery of the fundraising strategy. Create and manage financial budgets (income and expenditure), delivering plans within budget and to agreed timescales.
- Embed a robust KPI-led reporting framework to drive evidence-based decisions, measure and report on progress against plans and to demonstrate impact to a range of stakeholders. In collaboration with colleagues in the Data & Digital team, build new reporting dashboards to visualise fundraising KPIs.
- Ensure regulatory compliance is embedded across team processes and communications in areas such as the Fundraising Regulator, the Gambling Commission, GDPR (data protection), Privacy & Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), BACS (Direct Debit), HMRC (gift aid); and that the team have the knowledge, skills and qualifications to operate to required standards.
- Lead from the front as an influencer and collaborator across the Ramblers staff and volunteer network and externally, influencing funders and influencers. Represent the Ramblers across sector forums and networks, building strong peer relationships and sharing best practice. Keep abreast of external factors that might impact Ramblers fundraising

About the Role:
As our Senior CRM Administrator, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring Compassion’s Salesforce system operates seamlessly and meets the needs of our diverse teams. You’ll be responsible for developing Salesforce, to support critical organisational activities, particularly within fundraising, while ensuring data accuracy and integrity. By managing integrations with third-party systems and internal tools, you’ll help increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our CRM system.
This is a highly collaborative role, which requires you to work closely with teams across the organisation, including Fundraising, Digital, and International colleagues. You’ll provide expert guidance on how best to utilise Salesforce, troubleshoot high-level system issues, and produce essential dashboards and reports to inform decision-making. As a key contributor to our Global Fundraising Directorate, your work will have a direct and meaningful impact on the success of our campaigns and donor relationships worldwide.
About You:
To succeed in this exciting role, you will need to have proven experience in managing Salesforce or a similar CRM system. Previous experience within an NGO or fundraising environment would be desirable, but not essential. You’ll need to be comfortable working with complex data and have a strong understanding of how to maintain data integrity across multiple platforms. You will need to have the ability to identify user needs, and deliver practical solutions, that ensure the system supports all teams effectively.
You will need to have excellent communication skills, which allow you to work collaboratively across teams and regions, helping others to use Salesforce to its full potential. With a keen eye for detail, and a problem-solving mindset, you’ll enjoy working on system improvements and integrations, ensuring the CRM runs smoothly and efficiently.

Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity are hiring for a Senior Fundraising Executive to join our Hospital Engagement team. This position is based in the hospital for 3 days per week, with the remaining time spent working from home.
As a Senior Executive, your main focus is to build relationships and connections within the hospital in order to increase the Charity’s visibility, drive income growth and referrals from patient families, visitors and hospital staff.
Salary
The salary for this position is £35,051 per annum.
Key Responsibilities
This is a varied role where you will:
- Engage and develop strong working relationships with hospital staff members.
- Roll out a patient family fundraising training programme, delivering training to staff groups, identifying fundraising champions within the hospital and increase patient family referrals.
- Collaborate with the Hospital Engagement team to recruit and relationship manage hospital staff in our Charity Champions Programme.
- Collaborate across the charity with our Grants, Brand Marketing and Communications team to coordinate charity family activity and implement a hospital engagement and communications plan.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
This role is focused on relationship building and influencing and we’re looking for someone with:
- Experience working with the public in a customer facing role.
- Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders of all levels of seniority.
- Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence. (you will need to be comfortable working with patient families in a hospital environment).
- Confident delivering presentations and training.
- Experience working with or managing volunteers.
Whilst you’ll be an employee of the Charity, this role requires you to be onsite at the hospital for 3 days per week (with the rest of the time spent working remotely).
The hospital is a large site and you’ll be physically attending different department meetings, organising events, and hosting events (ensuring branded stock is available, moving boxes, helping with event set up).
About the Team
This role sits within the Hospital Engagement function within the Community team, whose purpose is to drive the charity’s presence within the hospital to build key relationships and increase income from patient families and hospital staff.
This is a role with regular hospital contact and appointment to the role will require the individual to meet any hospital access requirements which may change over time.

About the role
The Campaign and Programme Lead: Health & Human Rights leads Medact’s work coordinating the Patients Not Passports campaign, supporting health workers and migrant communities to bring an end to immigration checks and healthcare charging in the NHS. You will work in close partnership with the Access to Healthcare organiser at Migrants Organise, and with colleagues across Medact’s team.
The role involves holding Medact’s key knowledge base on health and human rights issues. This can cover migration and health, immigration detention, data-sharing and artificial intelligence in public services, and civil liberties issues. You will build relationships across the health community and wider human rights and migration spaces, from establishment institutions to frontline worker and grassroots groups.
At Medact we have a management structure, but we organise ourselves to minimise the impact of hierarchy and make use of everyone’s skills and expertise—being part of our team means taking an active role in strategic decisions.
About you
This isn’t an entry-level role but you don’t need to have had a job in an NGO before or be a professional campaigner to be right for it. You might have worked with your local community to campaign on a social justice or health issue that you care about. Or, you might be a health worker who has seen the impact of these issues on your patients and wants to challenge the systems that drive inequality and marginalisation. You might have been impacted by the hostile environment yourself and want to take action to change it.
You’ll have a strong understanding of power and how to work with others to create pressure for change. You need to be a great communicator, able to build trusting relationships with Medact members, academics, partner organisations and community groups. You’ll have an understanding of how digital communications compliment campaigning, an eye for a good media story and the know-how to get it out into the world.

Collaborating with the local team and supported by the national fundraising team, you will develop strong fundraising relationships, inspiring and empowering local volunteers, both as individuals and groups, across the area and including those within the Methodist Church, to raise funds and enable those who choose to use their services to thrive. This will include supporting those who wish to fundraise In Memory and utilising MHA’s fundraising products.
You will:
- Demonstrate your experience of delivering successful community fundraising including recruiting, supporting and motivating volunteer groups and individuals, and community fundraising supporters.
- Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with a variety of audiences via a variety of methods (email, phone, in person, etc) with outstanding presentation, interpersonal and networking skills.
- Be able to create and maintain effective working relationships with people at all levels including a variety of stakeholders internal and external with positive financial outcomes.
- Work to targets, plans and budgets, having strong financial acumen including budget setting, forecasting and reporting against targets
- Be a team player, with the autonomy to work under own initiative, prioritise workload and ensure deadlines are met.
With strong IT skills, and ideally knowledge of supporter databases, Raiser’s Edge, or similar you will have an awareness of Fundraising Regulator Codes of Practice and best practice community fundraising. An understanding of faith communities, including specifically the Methodist Church and its importance to community fundraising would be beneficial.
Please note that you will need a valid driving licence and access to a car as regular travel with occasional overnight stays will be mandatory for the success of this role, as will be the ability to work flexibly outside core working hours.

As the Production and Facilities Manager, you will be at the heart of our operations, ensuring that our annual order for the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal is fulfilled to the highest standards. You will also oversee Health & Safety and Facilities management for the organisation, our premises, and office tenants.
Responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing all aspects of the production process, ensuring products are delivered on time and to quality standards.
- Leading and developing a production team of 17 staff, managing staff performance, and offering support, coaching, and mentoring to help everyone reach their full potential.
- Taking the lead on health and safety for the factory, visitor centre, and commercial properties.
- Overseeing facilities maintenance, ensuring that all buildings and systems (fire safety, ventilation, heating) are regularly tested and compliant.
- Coordinating work experience schemes, corporate volunteering, and other initiatives that engage the wider community in supporting veterans.

The Advance Specialist Prison & Probation Advocate will support women within the prison setting, provide pre-release support, focused on Accommodation, Finance, debt & benefits, Family & significant others and Social inclusion including ‘through the gate’ support.
This exciting new role will be based in HMP Bronzefield and will support in developing referral pathways for women and work in partnership with different departments and services within the prison as well as those in the community. You will co-design an action plan with women accessing support, enabling you to support them to address their accommodation, finance, debt and benefits and health needs and any risks in relation to the interventions identified, as they prepare for release. The role will involve a combination of casework-based approach with delivery of programmes and courses, along with a signposting and advice service for the women in custody.
You will have demonstrable experience and understanding of working with women in a challenging multi-agency environment, ideally working with prisoners and/or their families.
You will build strong relationships with the Pre Release teams to ensure clients are able to maintain or access suitable accommodation, finance, benefits and debt, family and social inclusion support including negotiating terms on behalf of the women. Ensure that interventions are responsive to and meet the needs of women from diverse and minoritised backgrounds. This, together with referrals to wider partner organisations in the community, will ensure additional support needs are addressed post-release and continuity of support exists.

About You:
To be successful as the Advance Specialist Prison & Probation Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:
Knowledge and experience of the criminal justice system obtained through academic study, experience of working in the criminal justice system (or closely associated social system).
The ability and experience as a caseworker delivering gender specific and trauma responsive interventions which support resettlement and rehabilitation of female adults in the criminal justice system whether in the community or in prisons.
You will possess excellent organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work in a prison environment whilst remaining calm.
Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of managing a caseload including maintaining and updating records, remaining focused on action plan goals, and keeping to deadlines
You will have the ability to complete trauma informed, support and action plans in collaboration with the woman; to support in addressing their multiple and individual needs and enable them to engage with services, which will result in timely and prescribed outcomes being achieved.

This role is responsible for ensuring that CAFOD has strong, well researched and robust policy positions across our core advocacy areas, including – but not limited to - climate, debt, food systems and aid. We have an exciting opportunity to join our Edinburgh Skylight as a Receptionist/Administrator in our Crisis Skylight Edinburgh Team. You will be there to welcome people who are homeless seeking advice and start the process of helping them to end their homelessness.
You will support the team to manage a busy working environment, welcoming and supporting a range of people including new Skylight members, current members, staff, Crisis volunteers and visitors. You will provide administrative support for this fast and responsive service to those newly presenting as homeless. You will also carry out administration and housekeeping functions relating to the customer service and facilities management of Cranston House. This role is based onsite with no option for homeworking.

To be successful in this role you will be highly organised with experience of working within a reception or administrative support role, as well as experience providing a high standard of customer service. We are looking for someone who understands the issues faced by homeless people and is excited to learn about the ways we can support them. You will be able to deal with challenging situations and individuals with a range of needs, to reach a positive resolution through a calm and confident approach.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work successfully with disadvantaged or socially excluded groups and individuals. - Experience supporting donor-funded projects and contributing to proposals for donors (particularly USG-funded projects; experience with EU-funded projects a plus).

The Children's Society is clear on the impact it wants to create for young people - directly through our services for young people and through our systems change and influencing work at all levels in society. The Director of Research, Evaluation and Impact is part of the Leadership Team at The Children's Society, a Senior Leader within the Youth Impact domain. The Youth Impact domain is where all of our service delivery for young people and a lot of systems change activity takes place.
The Director will lead the Research, Evidence and Impact Team who have a vital role in ensuring that The Children's Society retains a clear and authentic understanding of young people's lives, with a focus on what is most important to building or preserving wellbeing. Our charity has been at the forefront of research on children's wellbeing for 20 years, alongside conducting child-centred studies on adolescence, risk and vulnerability (e.g. on Child Exploitation), and child poverty, exploring the issues that jeopardise young people's safety, health and opportunities. We have a track record for innovation (e.g. developing a validated and widely used 'Good Childhood Index') and work with academic partners and other organisations who share our vision of a society built for all children.
The Team are also responsible for overseeing and supporting the range of external evaluations that The Children's Society commissions to evidence the effectiveness of our direct services. Collating and sharing learning so we deepen our understanding of what interventions and support is effective for young people, or contributes to creating wider systems change for young people in our society.
Our collaborative culture at The Children's Society means that we closely work with colleagues who lead lobbying and political campaigning activities, as well as external communications and messaging, bringing together compelling evidence to drive change - in public awareness and attitudes, and in policies and systems - that can improve young people's lives. We also work closely with colleagues in our services across the country - sometimes to study the issues they see in their direct work with young people and families, and sometimes to support them when they commission independent evaluations or learning exercises.
The Research, Evidence and Impact Team's work is also pivotal to two flagship reports that The Children's Society publishes every year - The Good Childhood Report and our Annual Impact report. The role holder will be responsible for leading both these pieces of work, as well as the continued development of The Children's Society's Impact Measurement Framework.
This is a newly formed Director role that will become an active member of our Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the Executive Director of Youth Impact. It is a strategic, national role. With your energy, enthusiasm and passion to make a difference in young people's lives, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic research, evaluation and impact programme to drive forward the achievement of our goal - leading a team of experienced researchers to help you achieve this.
Key responsibilities will be to:

-Leading external research and impact partnerships, working collaboratively across the sector - growing opportunities for research and impact.
-Lead the annual production of the Good Childhood Report and Annual Impact Report.
You will be expected to represent the organisational externally, at the highest levels, with a wide variety of people and organisations. These could be researchers, supporters, politicians, civil servants, funders, media, partners - the list is endless. The effective verbal, written and visual communication skills you have will be important here. You are likely to be required to undertake media and public speaking - a good track record here will be encouraged. You will play a crucial role in developing and managing strategic relationships.
