The Development and Alumni Office is a small, dynamic team responsible for building a culture of support for Goldsmiths, whether that is through philanthropy, volunteering or advocacy. The Alumni Relations and Regular Giving programme aims to build relationships that inspire alumni, colleagues and friends to support Goldsmiths through donations or volunteering. Through our multi-channel regular giving campaigns, we seek donations via single gifts, monthly direct debits and legacy gifts.
About the Role
This role will work closely with the Head of Alumni Relations and Regular Giving to implement the individual giving and legacy fundraising programme that will increase funds raised to support education at Goldsmiths.
The postholder will responsible for the project management of and writing copy for individual giving and legacy fundraising campaigns, and donor stewardship communications, via email, web, social media, and/or direct mail.
About the Candidate
You will be able to demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach to identifying new opportunities and developing ideas. You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to project manage fundraising campaigns and build personal relationships with alumni donors. You will be skilled in writing engaging fundraising copy for email, web and print. Ideally you will have experience of individual giving and/or legacy fundraising from the Higher Education or Not for Profit sector. However transferrable skills from exceptional candidates looking to move into the Higher Education sector are also welcomed.

We are now seeking to add to the growing department through the newly created position of Legacy Manager. This role will focus on promoting and administering legacies, working with potential and existing legacy givers and helping to ensure legacies left to the Royal Ballet and Opera are administered sensitively and recorded robustly.
Our ideal candidate will be able to handle sensitive and sometimes difficult conversations in an empathetic and diplomatic manner. They will have excellent communication skills and will be confident operating in a small team with a growing remit. They will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience of working with Legacy giving and administration
- Experience of databases and MS Office (Access, Word and Excel)
- The ability to promote RBO legacy giving and gain knowledge of products and services in a relatively short period of time
- Consistent high level of customer care and responsiveness
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with a logical and methodical approach to work
Possession of or interest in working towards an ILM (Institiute of Legacy Management) qualification will be highly regarded, as will a working knowledge of CRM systems (we use Tessitura) so please do reference this in your application.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Planning:
• To provide expertise and collaborate with the Senior Development Manager to develop the legacy marketing acquisition strategy and tactical plan to grow the pipeline of legacy pledger base.
• To collaborate with the Senior Development Manager to develop the mid-value programme strategy and tactical plan to deliver £200,000 gross income annually and identify donors for our major-donor pipeline.

Campaign delivery:

We are looking for a new member to join our legacy and in-memory team, within its Individual Giving department. This role will help to manage and test legacy marketing campaigns with the aim to grow the size of the charity’s legacy Enquirer and Considerer base using various channels such as social media, direct mail and telemarketing. This role will also work on recruiting enquiries about the charity’s Pet Promise scheme and recruit new in-memory and tribute fund supporters. Although the role is strongly weighted to legacy marketing, the post-holder will also manage Woodgreen’s mid-value programme, creating a brilliant opportunity for an existing legacy fundraiser to broaden their professional remit.
The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, able to deliver campaigns on time and within budget. They will need to make decisions based on sound evidence, and will always demonstrate an attitude to learn-and-adapt campaigns. They will also have strong communication skills, able to champion legacy and mid-value giving, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders.

You will;

Join Operation Smile UK as our Senior Acquisition Manager and make a difference in the lives of children. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and drive recruitment of regular givers and cash givers to grow income and supporter volumes, in a multi-channel programme including Door to Door (F2F), digital fundraising channels, DRTV, cold mailing and door drops.
- Manage relationships with agency partners executing acquisition campaigns on behalf of Operation Smile UK for the betterment of the acquisition programme.

- Monitor and report on budgets and assist in building future expenditure and income targets. Work as part of the Individual Giving team to reach strategic targets.

- Collaborate with the Senior Database Manager to develop and implement essential Power BI dashboards. Proactively request ad-hoc data analysis to track key acquisition metrics and inform strategic decision-making.
- Introduce new acquisition channels and develop existing ones within KPIs to manage risk and keep fundraising up-to-date within evolving channels.
- To ensure that campaigns are where possible integrated or co-ordinated thematically, creatively and/or by target audience to maximise impact.
- To lead in the training of external agencies, effectively communicating the work of Operation Smile to key representatives.

We are seeking a special individual who can help us reach more of this UK audience and catalyse a growth in new supporter recruitment. At GCT, we truly believe that regenerative tourism can be part of the solution for conservation and this role will also drive stronger connections with tourism businesses and other targeted corporates to grow GCT’s income, donor recruitment opportunities and also to disseminate messaging to influence more sustainable practices in the Galapagos tourism industry.
Reporting to the CEO, the Membership & Regenerative Tourism Manager will drive the development and implementation of three key GCT strategies: Membership, Corporate fundraising & Regenerative Tourism. The role will line manage the Individual Giving Fundraiser who is responsible for managing GCT’s contact database and membership/corporate fundraising administration.
What you’ll deliver:
Membership
· Working with the Individual Giving Fundraiser you will oversee a growth in GCT’s membership (targets to be agreed upon appointment) whilst ensuring our strong record of supporter retention is maintained, ensuring our members feel a valued part of protecting Galapagos.
· Working with the Individual Giving Fundraiser and Communications team, you will develop and deliver high quality communications to members and tourism contacts, growing recruitment and ongoing engagement.
· Working with the Individual Giving Fundraiser you will manage GCT’s contact database (CRM) and will refine GCT’s membership, supporter and corporate data tracking processes, reporting monthly and quarterly indicators to the Senior Leadership Team and Board.
· You will ensure robust administration of membership, supporter and corporate income, with an ‘all-hands-on-deck’ attitude during busy income processing times.
· You will lead promotional activities for legacy gifts, stewarding legacy pledgers.
· You will support the Senior Philanthropy Manager in donor relationship management, ensuring a strong donor journey at all levels.
· You will provide strategic input to the CEO for ongoing membership, tourism and corporate fundraising strategy delivery and development.
Corporate Partnerships
· Working with the CEO and Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will review and relaunch GCT’s corporate membership/ sponsorship scheme in 2025 linking with GCT’s 30th Anniversary.
· Working with the Senior Leadership Team you will support the development and implementation of GCT’s first Galapagos Regenerative Tourism Partner initiative (aiming to generate c. £50K per year towards regenerative tourism work).
· You will continue recruitment and cultivation of GCT’s corporate partners from the travel industry and other industries, ensuring partnership deliverables and income targets are met.
· You will support the Senior Philanthropy Manager with logistics, promotion and fundraising strategies for the GCT cruises.
Regenerative Tourism
· You will stay informed of tourism news from Galapagos and trends for UK tourists including attending relevant networking events, updating the wider GCT team on a quarterly basis.
· Support GCT’s position on the Galapagos Regenerative Tourism Working Group.
· Ensure opportunities to share regenerative tourism messaging are optimised to increase industry uptake of biodiversity and local community positive solutions.
General
· Stay informed of existing and new fundraising legislation and guidance from the Fundraising Regulator, keeping the Senior Leadership Team updated of any changes.
· Support for GCT events such as our annual Galapagos Day.
· Ensure GCT’s fundraising and contact data management policies are kept up to date and implemented across the organisation.
· To support other team members as required at busy times.

Desirable:
o Experience working in the charity sector and particularly in environment/conservation or the tourism sector will be an advantage.
o Evidence of fundraising and/or marketing skills e.g. a qualification or training course is desirable.
o Spanish language ability is an advantage but not critical to this role.
o Confidence in public speaking to a variety of audiences and experience facilitating workshops is beneficial.
Place of work: GCT offices, central London (UK) with potential for occasional national and international travel; based in London office at least 2 days per week, option to work from home up to 3 days per week. Purpose of Role
The Individual Giving Manager will play a critical role in advancing our organisation's mission through leading the planning and delivery of our year round Individual Giving (IG) portfolio. Responsible for the strategic development, implementation and delivery of the IG portfolio, this role will grow the volume and value of our individual giving audience, through a management of a diverse portfolio of products and propositions including, but not limited to, cash, regular giving, legacy, and mid value.

Plan and deliver strategically aligned Individual Giving acquisition and retention activity, focussed for the relevant target audiences by:
Leading the development of the IG strategy and plans, proactively identifying growth opportunities and mitigating against risk to prioritise activities, setting clear and realistic objectives, KPIs and budgets based on capacity, expertise, insight and team aspirations to deliver a balanced IG portfolio including:
Championing and taking a data insight led approach to IG activity, critically analysing data and use insight to inform strategy and campaign optimisations
Proactively seeking insight and learnings for the IG audience, using this to inform strategic and operational activity development, and sharing with wider colleagues as relevant.
End-to-end project management of IG appeals, activations and campaigns, from initial planning and stakeholder engagement through to implementation, reporting and analysis.
