Job Purpose
The main purpose of this role is to support the international Girl Guide and Girl Scout Movement to improve its meaningful youth participation practice and increase its capacity to be led by girls and young women.
Key Responsibilities
Mainstream Meaningful Youth Participation

Work with the Youth Voice Volunteer Team to support capacity building in Member Organisations*, this may include:
-
Delivering workshops about meaningful youth participation.

Creating tailored action plans with Member Organisations.

Developing resources to support meaningful youth participation projects at national to local level.

Collaborate with different WAGGGS teams to embed meaningful youth participation into event planning and delivery, for example:

Ensuring youth participation is happening throughout the planning and delivery process.

If an event is aimed at young people, supporting the programme to be relevant, exciting, accessible and learner-led for the participants.

Champion intergenerational leadership** to make sure everyone knows they have a part to play in a Movement led by girls and young women.

Put the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion into action by not taking a ‘one size fits all’ approach to work.

Apply intersectionality and be aware of the global, multilingual context of WAGGGS in all areas of work.

Take the time to understand cultural context and local barriers and the different experiences and perspectives on youth participation young people may have in different contexts, before deciding your approach and be prepared to adapt along the way.

Support Young People in Governance

Monitor and evaluate the implementation of existing recommendations produced by youth-led research into young women in governance.

Assess what is needed to continue to grow WAGGGS’s meaningful youth participation practice in the governance space.

Collaborate with the WAGGGS Governance Team to put into action recommendations.
Ensure Meaningful Participation of Girls and Young Women

Support the participation of girls and young women in WAGGGS activities across the organisation through, for example,

The role
We’re seeking a Volunteering and Participation Coordinator to join our fantastic Volunteering and Participation team!
As our organisation grows we want to ensure we are consistently providing a great experience for volunteers and lived experience participants, right through from recruitment and onboarding, to providing support and enabling them to be ambassadors for the charity once they move on.
We have brought the areas of volunteering and participation of people with lived experience in our work, together in this role and team. We see these areas as having some points of distinctions, and also that many of the approaches and policies underpinning them are the same. We want to prioritise the same enabling and impactful approach, which values diversity, in both.
PCUK has made a commitment to diversifying and building the participation of people with lived experience across all levels of our work. We already do lots of great things, but we are committed to doing more and to ensuring that people with lived experience are regularly involved from the start in shaping projects and working alongside staff with learnt experience and in meaningful ways.
We are a new team and you will work closely with the Volunteering and Participation Manager to introduce new processes and resources, and the People and Culture Administrator who handles volunteer and participation enquiries. This is an exciting time to join, with lots of opportunity to grow the diversity of the volunteers and participants involved, as well as the range of opportunities they are involved with. You will recruit and onboard volunteers and participants directly and create new ways to keep them engaged and updated with the charities work and further opportunities. As well as work with colleagues across different teams to develop new roles and opportunities for volunteers and participants.

This is a part time role (17.5 hours per week) which can be worked across 3 or 4 days, working from home and from our office in central London. Job summary
We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Education Coordinator, passionate about community-based learning to join our small and friendly team. The Education Coordinator will be responsible for the delivery and development of all aspects of the work of the adult and family learning programme and will have the opportunity to develop other provision at the centre. Our adult learning programme supports over 250 local adults each year through a range of programmes designed to improve their English language, digital and maths skills and increase their employability and involvement in the community. Our family learning programme supports over 200 children with online after-school classes in Maths, English and Science. You would also be responsible for coordinating 6 teachers remotely to deliver weekly online after-school classes for Year 3 to Year 9 in all three subjects. We also deliver a range of informal family learning provision across our Family Programme services to over 1000 users, and some of these programmes may be included in our Adult Education offer and so you will be required to support with the administration of these activities.
The Education Coordinator will be based at our centre at 2 Thorpe Close W10 5XL and will have responsibility for working with the heads of departments, tutors and education administrator, to plan and deliver the learning programme. The successful candidate will have a full UK teaching qualification in the Further Education sector, and delivery of FSE/ESOL at various levels would be desirable; have excellent leadership and inter-personal skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; be highly organised and efficient.
The salary is £33,500 per annum and in addition to bank holidays we offer 25 days’ annual leave, additional Christmas time leave, a pension scheme, cycle to work scheme and a comprehensive training programme.
The employment is subject to a probational period of twenty-six weeks from your start date of employment with Nova, during which time you will be required to demonstrate to the leadership team’s satisfaction your suitability for the position in which you are employed.

Responsibilities/ Core duties:

To organise, administer and develop all aspects of the learning programme and achieve given targets for retention, achievement, pass rates and other set KPIs in all curriculum areas, including Adult Education and children’s after-school classes delivered by our Family Programme.

To organise appropriate accreditation in each curriculum area and ensure that the requirements of the awarding body/ies are met as an internal verifier, and ensure that all paperwork meets the required standard of the awarding body/ies.

To oversee volunteer tutors to include monitoring, feedback and follow-up and ensure the line managers are assigned for specific subjects, including volunteer online classroom assistants or teachers for the Family Programme.

To maintain a Tutor Area on Share Point with examples of best practice and practical tips and advice for both Adult Education and Family Programme.

To oversee internal and external data input and use data on enrolment, retention and achievement to monitor and plan provision.

To monitor and report on Children’s classroom attendance and learning progress in our Family Programme classes.

To attend staff and trustee meetings, as required.

To prepare and present the annual and termly quality assurance and learner progress documents (eg. SAR – Self Assessment Report).

To oversee examinations across the organization and work with the exam boards in meeting their standards and requirements.

To maintain and develop our links with other organisations within the local area and London-wide.

To market and promote courses and services in order to attract potential learners through local schools, public organisations and community networks.

To deliver agreed elements of the learning courses and prepare syllabuses, evaluate individual lesson plans, schemes of work, sessions and courses.

To be available to cover, or arrange cover, to ensure all planned classes and courses go ahead.

To encourage students to extend their engagement in the community and to play a full part in the activities of the charity.

To create/ collate and manage calendar of events for Education, organise trips, workshops and talks for adult learners.

Experience of internal verification and observation of teaching. This role is within our Evaluation Practice. The evaluation team works with schools and organisations, analysing the impact of programmes and interventions to help them do more of what works and less of what doesn’t. We work with more than 1,400 schools and 70 education organisations, serving more than a quarter of million pupils. This includes helping our partners to design high-quality research projects, delivering them, and providing systems and tools for data collection, reporting and impact benchmarking.
The Opportunity
The School Engagement Coordinator is a new role working across ImpactEd Evaluation. The role will work directly with schools to deliver national research projects, support their onboarding to our School Impact Platform, and lead communications and data collection for our partnerships. The role would be a good fit for someone with experience or interest in the school sector and research and evaluation.
Day to day your role is likely to be a mixture of:
- Supporting new schools we are working with through their onboarding and data collection processes and monitoring progress
- Working with school leaders and teachers to implement research in their setting - for example on projects like our Understanding Attendance research
- General support for partnership delivery and administrative tasks working with different team members
- Standardised reporting and data analysis – this will require good attention to detail and working with Excel and MS Office Suite
About You
We are looking for some of the following attributes, though you might be more experienced in some areas than others, and we are open to a range of backgrounds:
- Understanding and experience of the UK education system
- Experience of working within an administrative or customer service/partner focused role
- Able to communicate clearly and persuasively, both written and verbally

The Democracy Development Coordinator will work within the Community Engagement department to develop KCLSU's democratic practices, policy and procedures.
Areas of work will include:
- Project manage the delivery of KCLSU Elections (electing Student Officers and Community Leaders)

The role:
Working as part of a small team, the Conference Organiser and Business Development Coordinator responsibilities include but are not limited to:

The SCTS Meetings team is responsible for organising and delivering the SCTS Annual Conference for all categories of professionals including Consultants, Medical Practitioners, Nationally Appointed Surgical Trainees, Trust appointed doctors and Nurses and Allied Health Professionals.
The team work flexibly from home and on site at least one day a week (but more will be required for initial training) at our office based in the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Central London.

As the Peer Mentor Coordinator (Young Women & Girls), this is an exciting time to join Advance while we embark on our journey to reach even more young women and girls aged 13-25 in need of support. You will project manage the mentoring service and recruit, support and develop Volunteer Mentors in their roles. Working as part of an innovative and newly-funded service, you will also work closely with the Maia Service Manager to capture and share feedback and learning from the project, using this to inform the ongoing development of Advance’s ways of working with YWG and disseminating findings widely across key partners and networks.
About You:
To be successful as the Peer Mentor Coordinator (Young Women & Girls) you will need the below experience and skills:
You will be able to project manage the Maia’s Service’s peer mentoring programme, liaising with keyworkers and partner agencies to successfully establish and run a peer mentoring programme across six boroughs.
You will be able to effectively engage and recruit women with lived experience to act as Volunteer Mentors for the YWG engaging with the Maia service.
You will be able to develop resources and deliver a training package to Volunteer Mentors, including sessions on key topics such as safeguarding, data protection and confidentiality, building relationships and maintaining boundaries, active listening and risk and crisis management, as well as specialist workshops focused on the challenges facing YWG, including violence, abuse and exploitation and contact with the criminal justice system.
You will have experience in developing and maintaining links with partner agencies (statutory and non-statutory, including children and young people’s and women and girls’ voluntary services) across the six boroughs, raising the profile of the Maia service and developing specific referral pathways for Volunteer Mentors and the YWG they support where appropriate.
You will be knowledgeable and have a strong understanding of the challenges facing vulnerable young women and girls, including the impacts of domestic abuse, exploitation, mental health and contact with the criminal justice system, and of the practical and emotional support needs specific to this group, including education, confidence and relationship-building.

ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for a Research Coordinator to join us at NUM to support our Sex Workers Evaluate Reporting Violence (SWERV) research project!
SWERV is a research initiative between health researchers at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and National Ugly Mugs (NUM), in collaboration with Brunel University. Together, with the meaningful involvement of sex workers across the UK, we will evaluate how membership and engagement with NUM services affects sex workers’ safety, mental health and wellbeing.
About NUM:
National Ugly Mugs (NUM) is an award-winning charity with a mission to ‘end all forms of violence against sex workers.’ NUM provides a mechanism for sex industry workers to report crimes and harm they experience and share this information within their communities to warn others of potentially dangerous individuals and situations.
We have a dedicated casework team of industry experts who support sex workers to further access criminal justice remedies and other services as determined by victims/survivors to cope and recover from crimes they experience in the ways they choose. We also host a range of other projects in racial justice, mental health, drop-in support (Scotland), and vocational exploration.
About the project:
The SWERV project is a multi-year research collaboration between NUM and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. We will study how NUM’s alerts, the NUMchecker, reporting and casework (‘interventions’) affect sex workers’ safety and mental health, through five work packages A-E. We will interview sex workers who have and who haven’t used NUM, and service providers, about their views and experiences of NUM’s services, to understand who benefits from the interventions, how and why (‘qualitative process evaluation’ – work package B). We will ask new NUM members, and sex workers who aren’t members, to fill in a questionnaire twice, six months apart. The questionnaire will ask about violence, safety strategies, and mental health, to compare the experiences of sex workers who do and don’t use the alerts and the NUMchecker (‘impact evaluation’ – work package C). We will estimate value for money, by calculating how much the interventions cost to run and comparing this to no intervention, in terms of preventing violence against sex workers and improving their quality of life (‘economic evaluation’ – work package D). We will use the information to understand how NUM’s services work in different places and for different people, depending on their circumstances and the wider environment. We will take the ‘DEPTH’ approach which involves ‘dialogue’ workshops with sex workers and practitioners to design the research and recommendations together (work packages A and E). Together, we will use what we learn to recommend how to improve community-based violence prevention and survivor support services ‘by and for’ sex workers.
Person Specification
A successful candidate should:
· Have demonstrable experience and understanding of sex work, sex worker rights and self-determination, and be in good standing with the sex worker rights and sex work research communities in the UK
· Have a clear understanding of how intersecting factors including criminalisation, stigma, systemic racism, gender, disability, poverty, mental health and access to resources influence sex workers’ lived experiences, how they may engage with services and research, and their access to public services and police protection
· Be familiar with all aspects of the charity sector, the work of National Ugly Mugs and other sex worker-serving and sex worker-led organisations.
· Have knowledge of systemic racism as it operates within the UK and be embedded within an anti-racist and anti-oppressive framework, whether this be through previous work, activism or personal life experiences
· Have experience leading or coordinating projects and a comfortability with qualitative and/or quantitative data collection (e.g. surveys, interviews, focus groups) and management, including participant recruitment.
· Have experience of organising and/or delivering events/workshops/outputs to share research/practice with communities and seek their input/feedback
· Have commitment to participatory research principles
· Have a commitment to NUM’s core principles of Sex Workers First, Quality Support and Learning and Innovation
· Possess strong written and verbal communication skills

- Conduct research, create, and prepare materials and topic matter for groups or pods.
- Provide service users in group settings with structured information at different phases of their recovery
- Following groups or pods, analyse progress and identify service user concerns by participating in debriefings and evaluations with co-facilitators.
- Design seminars that are specifically tailored to the needs of the service users, covering topics like relationships, anger management, and sleep issues.
Experience Required:
- Possess a thorough awareness of substance abuse issues or have previous experience working in a related field.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication abilities as well as strong IT abilities.
- Possess a solid working understanding of mental health services, interventions, and best practices.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills, be a helpful team player, and be able to collaborate with a variety of individuals, organisations, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Capacity to successfully manage change while putting the interests of service consumers first

The Schools and Youth Engagement Coordinator will support the delivery of our Trees in Schools Programme and Youth Programme.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Trees for Schools programme aims to transform urban school grounds into leafy green oases for both the children of today and for future generations. Our award-winning work in schools is delivery-focused and involves transforming school grounds into greener and healthier places to be. Specialising in innovative design, high-quality planting and landscaping, and inclusive engagement of the school community.
This role involves creating and maintaining tree-planting projects, climate-adapted gardens and food-growing projects with pupils and supporting teaching staff to embed outdoor learning through trees and green spaces into the school curriculum. The coordinator will deliver school tree planting and educational workshops and other activities.
The coordinator will also support the delivery of our growing UK wide youth programme, engaging young people through educational workshops, tree planting, maintenance events and remote youth advisory and research panels.

We seek an individual who is happy to work hands-on outdoors in all weathers at a variety of locations, and over some weekends, with TOIL (time off in lieu), as well as being comfortable working indoors in an office environment.
