For 40-years, School-Home Support has been working with children, families and schools to break the cycle of poor school attendance, low education attainment, anti-social behaviour, crime, low paid or no job, generation after generation. We are very proud of the work we do to support getting children and young people back into school, ready to learn, whatever it takes.

This is a new role in our People team and we are looking for an energetic and dependable People Operations & Systems Manager to work closely with our Head of People and Culture, to help implement best people strategies and practices to secure a sustainable organisational culture. You must possess significant HR management experience (3-years in similar role) to continuously track the department’s efforts and target its goals. This role reports into the Head of People & Culture and is a mixture of remote working and office based.

You will be liaising with all colleagues on HR practices and school and regional based practitioners; together with all Line Managers. Setting goals for people operations deliverables to track the department’s outputs and goals in line with our vision and values. Supervising and managing the people administrator and the L&D Advisor to manage the following:

•  Reviewing and approving necessary modifications to the people operations department’s efforts from time to time.
• Overseeing specific tasks such as the full recruitment procedure, together with the People administrator.
• Full responsibility for payroll management; together with Finance and outsourced payroll bureau.
• Responsible for all our People HR/Training/ATS systems to ensure they are managed effectively and fit for purpose.
• Responsible for employee engagement and retention, employee satisfaction, and performance management.
• Ensuring that there is a healthy environment for all our employees to work in and that the people department’s workflow is efficient and compliant, at all times.
• Ensuring that DBS management is up to date; liaising with the safeguarding teams with any updates on DBS processes.
• Updating and implementing people policies, and managing the full employee life cycle administrative requirements
• Managing all ER delivery to ensure dispute management is maintained.
• Maintaining disciplines such as legislative regulations and guidelines.
• Develop a positive working environment, encouraging a proactive approach to people's wellbeing and leading the local Wellbeing Forum initiatives
• Be responsible for and drive improvement in diversity, inclusion and engagement.
• Be accountable for talent planning, succession, assessments and HR processes that drive a high performing team
• Provide general day to day HR support on operational issues
• Supporting Group HR Projects/Initiatives

Experience & Skills:

•  CIPD qualified (desirable or equivalent experience)
• Experience in a charitable organisation would be beneficial, but not essential
• Proven experience in advising on complex ER matters
• Resilience, great influencing and communication skills
• Able to build trust, respect and openness

The Role

The ShelterBox Content Manager will be passionate about storytelling. They will have a deep understanding of our supporters and what motivates them and will be responsible for delivering an audience focused annual content plan. The purpose of the Global Brand and Content team is to help establish ShelterBox as an international household name with a proposition built on trust, understanding and affection. Engaging storytelling sits at the heart of our organisation and drives activity across multiple teams. We strive to connect our supporters with the stories of the communities we support around the world and always aim to gather content in an ethical way – listening to, and amplifying the voices of, the communities that we support.

Who are we looking for?
The Content Manager will plan and oversee the production and delivery of high-quality, response-based multimedia storytelling. They will drive our content gathering activity across all our live responses and capitalise in times of rapid onset disasters. As well as be responsible for delivering an annual content plan that supports the needs of our fundraising and communications output in the UK and around the world. Understanding how the audiences in different countries / teams may be similar or different is key. Developing creative attuned to this audience understanding is vital as is the ability to scan for storytelling opportunities for key themes or evergreen ‘always on’ content needs.

This role will also be responsible for sharing content, managing Asset Bank, and promoting the latest available content internally with team leads as well as making story suggestions for campaign ideas or fundraising products / events.

Creation of, and delivery against, an annual content strategy will be your main responsibility so you should be able to plan, juggle multiple tasks and understand your audience. It's vital that you work to understand our audiences and their needs, to design and deliver a program of activity that serves the right kind of stories, at the right time, in the right way.

You will need to set clear objectives and prioritise workload for your team and yourself and measure results. Ensuring the flow of quality content in the form of case studies, information and insights, film and photography are crucial in allowing us to take the ShelterBox story to new audiences, creating fertile soil for fundraising asks to flourish.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Oversee the gathering, managing, and sharing of great written, photographical and film content (briefing, creating, and editing)
• Develop and implement a content strategy that seeks to increase the frequency, quality and variety of case studies, photographs, video, and other content from around the world. Also supporting bespoke requests to increase awareness and support amongst specific audiences/stakeholders.
• Work with teams in the UK and around the world, to develop an annual content plan that is audience focussed and seeks out opportunities to connect supporters with our work in new and exciting ways.
• Lead focus groups and insights to ensure we understand our audience and their storytelling needs and adapt creative accordingly.
• Champion ethical storytelling internally and externally and work with Global Head of Brand & Content to develop and implement an ethical storytelling content strategy across all responses.
• Responsibility for budget management, including monthly variance, future forecasting and exploiting opportunities for investment (against KPIs/objectives) and cost savings. Supporting the annual budgetary cycle.
• Responsibility for content gathering processes, template development and overall ways of working to support content Producers workflow
• Manage the briefing, support, and management of in-country content gatherers, from a content and brand perspective. Working to ensure the continued flow of information, designed to update supporters on our relief efforts around the world.
• Working with the Training department to develop an ongoing training scheme for staff, volunteers, and specialists. Train, nurture and support a multi-layered network of field content gatherers.
• Responsible for Asset Bank (or other DAM) and its continued improvement.
• Responsible for the line management of brand and content producers, ensuring successful delivery against project work, effective support and guidance and providing direct report support
• Responsible for purchasing stock content in times of major disaster
• Lead on editorial meetings – ensuring we are developing stories to support upcoming communications needs
• Responsible for ensuring that all content producers maintain an up to date understanding of how ShelterBox operates, that they remain on top of their training requirements, and they maintain strong working relationships with the response team community and deployable IPD staff
• Manage content responsibilities for specific responses alongside Content Producers
• At times produce branded content – be that written content or video content
• Coordinate the Content team studio inventory and oversee the audit, and purchasing of AV equipment
• Support the fundraising team, and others, to tell the ShelterBox story in an authentic way
• Support celebrity content development.
• Support the provision of B-Roll for PR and media engagement.
• Support the organisation-wide strategic plan objectives
• Keep within the charity’s aims and objectives
• Some travel in the UK and Internationally may be required at times.

Key responsibilities:

• Management contracts, staff and resources: You will ensure all programmes are delivered within budget, and you will oversee contracts and reporting, producing convincing reports that show impact and delivery of KPIs.
• Oversight of networks delivery and performance: You will oversee programme planning and network management. You'll map out community groups, service and business partners and set up project activities and events, including training and workshops for network partners and key partner staff.

This role will require flexibility regarding working hours, including evenings and weekends when required. Overview of the role

The new role of Senior Fundraising Officer offers a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious fundraiser to join our successful Development Team and play a key role in helping us grow the reach and impact of our coaching programmes for young people.

We are looking for someone with experience in raising funds from trusts and foundations, corporate donors or high-net worth individuals. Our ideal candidate will be an excellent writer with experience in drafting grant applications and reports. They will also be interested in advancing their fundraising career in a collaborative team, with coaching and personal development at its heart.

As Senior Fundraising Officer, you will work flexibly across all our income streams, securing grants and stewarding relationships with trusts and foundations, corporate partners, statutory agencies, and high-net worth individuals. You will bring excellent research and writing skills in relation to the highest standard of application and report writing, as well as ensuring outstanding stewardship of our established portfolio of funders.

You will develop strong relationships internally to facilitate a collaborative approach to fundraising, working closely with our team of Business Partnership Managers, who coordinate 'Ready for Work' activities with our corporate partners and their foundations, as well as developing funding applications and reports alongside our delivery and impact teams and our young people.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working with healthy pressure within a supportive team culture and will be able to maintain a high level of productivity, pace and resilience in what is a challenging funding environment. About the role
The NextGen Community Producer will play an integral role at Youth Music shaping and developing our support for young adults, particularly helping them to close the gap between learning and earning in music.

You’ll join us at an exciting time as we look to scale up and enhance our community engagement efforts. Building on the foundations established in phase 1 between 2021-2024, your focus will be on increasing participation, and fostering a more cohesive and active community. Your innovative strategies and passion for supporting young creatives will be key to driving deeper connections among members, and creating a compelling offer for the community.

Day-to-day you’ll be programming national events, workshops and networking opportunities; brokering progression opportunities though Youth Music’s industry partners, and recruiting to paid freelance creative roles. The job will involve managing a variety of relationships with young people, playing a central role in developing and leading the NextGen community strategy, and supporting the development of a new brand and user journey for NextGen community members.

Key responsibilities
Programme Development

• Act as the day-to-day lead and point of contact for the Youth Music NextGen Community, representing their voice internally and externally.
• Devise and implement a clear strategy for the continued growth and development of the NextGen Community, with support from the Engagement team.
• Deliver impactful programmes of activities and support that will progress young people into creative careers, broaden their networks, increase their confidence and create access to new opportunities.
• Develop and grow the NextGen Community brand and visual identity, ensuring a clear offer and user journey for those taking part in Youth Music funded projects, and other potential new members.
• Increase the role the community plays in designing and delivering the NextGen programme, aligning with Youth Music’s wider aims and values around youth voice.
• Increase interaction between NextGen Community members.

Events

• Work with the events team to develop, grow and manage our programme of regular NextGen Community events across the country to bring the community together and showcase their talent.
• Develop and manage our programme of events in London in partnership with Young Guns Network (YGN), taking place in the offices of our music industry partners.
• Grow attendance at all NextGen events, working with our Comms and Marketing team to increase awareness and build the profile of the event series.
• Programme and manage all events within set budgets.

Partnerships

• Build and leverage relationships with partners and networks to enhance the offer for the NextGen Community (such as events, performance opportunities, workshops, studio time, content creation, and exclusive offers etc).
• Manage relationships with key corporate partners (such as Levi’s) to support delivery of the NextGen Community activities.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of potential partners to approach, and support wider fundraising efforts within the team.

Recruitment

• Lead on NextGen recruitment for NextGen Community Events and the Youth Music Awards, with support from the Engagement Coordinator. e.g. Create briefs for NextGen roles and be their main point of contact.
• Support recruitment for any other Youth Music or partner opportunities created for the NextGen Community. (e.g. gigs, festivals, activations, focus groups, etc).
• Develop the NextGen talent pool, finding new ways to promote and manage this.
• Create and source relevant national music-related opportunities for Youth Music’s ‘opportunities board’.

NextGen Fund

• Support the marketing and promotion of the NextGen Fund.
• Contribute and support NextGen Fund decision panels.
• Work with our Comms team to ensure that content created through the NextGen Fund is showcased on Youth Music’s social and digital channels. E.g. Sound of the Next Generation playlist.

Demonstrate Impact

• Work with the Insights Team to listen and act on feedback from the NextGen Community. This will be via monitoring, research and consultation that informs the ongoing development and design of the NextGen offer.
• Prepare and present reports on the plans, activities and impact of NextGen Community.
• Share our learning internally and externally at panels, conferences, and through written pieces.

Systems and processes

• Capture NextGen membership on Salesforce so that we have a clear understanding of who is in our community.
• Work with the Database Administrator to improve our systems, processes and user journeys.
• Work with the Comms and Marketing team to ensure the Youth Music website represents and serves the needs of the NextGen Community.

Other

• Ensure all activities are delivered in line with Youth Music’s values with inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility at their core.
