As a Grant and Community Fundraiser, you will play a pivotal role in our Fundraising team, helping us secure the funding necessary to sustain and enhance our vital services, primarily in the Bedfordshire area. You’ll be at the forefront of our Business Development strategies, identifying and capitalising on new funding opportunities to support our capacity-building initiatives and strategic ambitions. 

The role offers flexible working arrangements, including the option to work from home, coupled with in-community engagements. Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9 - 5/5.30, hybrid working with travel across our services, which are based around London, Brighton, Kent, Essex, Luton, Bedford, Liverpool, and Nottingham. For this position, most of the travel will be within Bedfordshire. This role will be based from our Penrose Synergy office in Luton.

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience in a similar role with similar responsibilities, this can include in a fundraising and/or sales capacity which has direct transferrable skills.  
• IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, advanced knowledge in Microsoft, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability and willingness to travel to various services and locations for visits and events
• Ability to carry out research and lead on outreach and partnership building initiatives in various locations which can include locations of rural communities
• Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities within a fast-paced environment
• Understanding and/or practical knowledge of the social and societal marginalisation that can be attached to people who experience multiple complex disadvantages

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

FUNDRAISING

• Be a point of contact for fundraising, ensuring a positive experience for funders and managing financial transactions to agreed fundraising policies and processes.
• Develop a regional Grant Programme, focusing on unrestricted income and feeding into fundraising management reporting. 
• Identify, research, and communicate income and partnership opportunities, working proactively with colleagues across the Group to scope fundable initiatives that provide added value. 
• Work alongside the team to develop high-quality grant funding applications, cases for support, and budgets. Complete the end-to-end process, ensuring all applications are thorough and competitive.
• Oversee grant reporting and invoicing, ensuring prompt fulfilment in line with all grant agreements and reporting requirements, liaising with relevant teams across the Group. 
• Plan, implement and manage various campaigns and activities, which may include but are not limited to local events, national events, outreach, and fundraising opportunities.

PARTNERSHIP BUILDING

• Attend networking events to build engagement and partnerships with local and national organisations.
• Build a rolling calendar of charity of the year application deadlines. Provide excellent stewardship, using innovative ways to keep all parties engaged and informed of relevant news and updates by SIG.
• Support partners in fundraising endeavours and signposting to new and existing opportunities.

What we would like, but not essential:

• Previous experience in writing successful grant applications to Charitable Trusts and Foundations
• Previous experience working in a customer-facing role
• Professional Qualification in a relevant discipline which can include Marketing, English, Business Management
• Experience in a similar size organisation and/or charity sector organisation
• Confidence in presenting to varying audiences
• Proficiency in navigating online and offline fundraising tools and systems
• Knowledge of Health and Social Care, Best Practice, and the support needs of vulnerable people within society

Fauna & Flora’s Scotland team is actively working to develop ways to offer further in-depth support to the community groups we work with to address the barriers that they identify and are looking to build our input in the terrestrial sphere, including taking part in conversations around rapidly developing nature finance mechanisms, and increasing our stakeholder network. This is an exciting stage for the team, as we further develop aspirations around land-based community conservation, as well as support the Coastal Communities Network (CCN) on their journey towards independence as a community-governed network. 

This internship is a valuable learning opportunity for someone with an interest in community-led conservation in Scotland. You will work across the Scotland team, engaging with colleagues within the wider Eurasia regional programme and relevant cross-cutting teams, as well as locally-based partners and contacts. You will gain knowledge of the current conservation context in Scotland, increase your understanding of project development within small teams, build your networks and support the planning and running of workshops and events. More specifically, you will play a key supporting role in the development of our work in Scotland through: desk-based research on community-led conservation, updating stakeholder mapping, network research, supporting key meetings, and a review of Scotland’s national and international nature obligations. There is also the opportunity to support the organisation and delivery of the CCN annual gathering in October 2024 and planned community workshops later in the year, as well as to engage in national policy consultations.

The South East London Suicide Bereavement Service is a collaboration between South East London Mind, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, and Mind in Bexley. The service provides vital emotional and practical support to adults and young people who have lost a loved one to suicide. You will be joining a supportive team who share a passion for working with people during some of the most difficult experiences of their lives.

We are looking for a compassionate, reflective and resilient individual to fill the key role of Suicide Bereavement Support Worker. Your primary responsibilities will be to deliver one-to-one emotional and practical support and co-facilitate occasional bereavement support groups. This role involves building relationships with people from all walks of life and managing your own caseload. You will have ownership over your work, while being supported through regular supervision and reflective practice.

With experience providing emotional support, including to those who have experienced bereavement, you will be an excellent communicator with good assessment and support planning skills. You will also be highly organised and able to manage a busy and varied workload. The ability to adapt your approach to a wide variety of people, ensuring that support is inclusive and sensitive to service users’ cultural and religious backgrounds, is essential. This role involves meeting clients in the community, including carrying out home visits. Although it is possible to fulfil the travel requirements of the role by public transport, this would best suit someone with access to their own mode of transport, such as a car or bicycle.

Within this role, and in close collaboration with the Head of Operations you will ensure high quality administrative support across GH50/50, setting the entire team up for success. This is a crucial role that will ensure that things run effectively and efficiently in support of our mission.

This is a brand new role for GH50/50, therefore we are looking for a bright, self-starter who can work with the Head of Operations to shape the role; providing recommendations to the organisation on administrative processes and own their projects from conception to delivery.  You will play a pivotal role in supporting the charity's administrative and strategic initiatives as we enter a new phase of growth. We foresee that the successful candidate will enjoy variety, will be highly organised and will have a can-do attitude.

Job Responsibilities:

o Support the Head of Operations in the smooth and efficient running of the GH50/50 office.

o Collaborate with the Head of Operations to source and roll out a new organisation-wide management system for GH50/50, ensuring thoughtful integration into our current working practices.

o Organise the Co-CEOs calendars, including scheduling meetings and appointments.

o Support the Head of Operations to prepare and manage correspondence, reports, and documents as required.

o Alongside the Head of Operations, maintain effective office management and administrative procedures.

o Manage and triage the organisational email account

o Monitor and update the organisation-wide contact database

o Ensure compliance with data protection and ethics legislation, including being up to date with GDPR requirements (training can be provided).

o Coordinate support to the team on basic financial management tasks, including expense claims and other reporting.

o Arrange and coordinate internal and external meetings, including managing calendars, conference call logistics, venue booking and wider meeting preparation tasks, preparing agendas, and minute-taking/dissemination of actions.

o Attendance at internal meetings across all work streams to increase information sharing and keep a sense of organisations objectives

o Coordinate the distribution of board and trustee and advisory group(s) meeting materials and invites.

o Support the Head of Operations to improve the ease of filing documents through our current system - SharePoint.

o Own the planning and organising of certain events, including launches, roundtables and conferences. This will include event management and travel booking, when required.

o Flexibility to take on additional administrative tasks as and when needed in support of the charity.

Skills and Qualifications:

● A keen self starter, who is passionate about the GH50/50 mission and where they can have impact.

● Experience in working with or for academic institutes for research organisations would be beneficial, as would experience working with a remote team with globally based stakeholders

● Excellent organisational and time management skills.

● Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with high emotional intelligence.

● Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with HR and financial management systems.

● Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative professional relationships with a wide range of partners across diverse contexts, including whilst working remotely.

● Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

● Knowledge and understanding of the charity sector.

Role responsibilities 

• Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme 

• Match students with volunteer tutors 

• Monitor student attendance to tutorials and devise innovative solutions to encourage attendance 

• Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university

applications 

• Upload information onto the Salesforce database (training is provided) 

• Monitor the impact of tutorials, and intervene as appropriate 

• Build and manage relationships with volunteer tutors to ensure they have a positive

Based at Disability Solutions HQ (North Staffordshire Medical Institute in Hartshill), the successful candidate will have proven successful experience of working in the welfare benefits advice sector and will have an excellent working knowledge and experience of the welfare benefits system.
