Summary of the role:
The Policy, Advocacy & Public Affairs Officer is responsible for developing and implementing advocacy strategies that advance the organisation’s mission, influence public policy and help achieve strategic priorities. This role involves engaging with policy makers, building relationships with key stakeholders, researching and writing policy positions, planning advocacy campaigns and supporting public affairs initiatives. The Policy, Advocacy & PA Officer will work closely with the Head of Communications to ensure that advocacy and public affairs efforts are integrated into the organisation’s broader communication strategy.
About the Role:
- Identify key policy issues and opportunities for targeted advocacy campaigns to achieve organisational goals.
- Conduct stakeholder mapping to identify key influencers, decision-makers and partners in the public policy space.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of stakeholders and ensure regular engagement with them.
- Maintain relationships with government officials, policymakers, and other key stakeholders in the public sector.
- Provide updates on legislative, regulatory and policy developments/changes that impact the delivery of our advocacy approaches.
- Execute public awareness campaigns that raise the profile of the organisation’s advocacy issues and educate audiences on key issues aligned with strategic priorities.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Law, or a related field.
- Experience in advocacy, public affairs, or a related role, preferably within an INGO or nonprofit organisation.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to conduct policy analysis and develop evidence-based advocacy materials.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in public affairs strategies, government relations, and coalition building.
- Passionate advocate with a commitment to social justice and the organisation’s mission.

Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities
Administration:

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2024 we embarked on our new 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.

Title: Senior Practitioner Psychologist (internally this role is known as Senior Skylight Psychologist)

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. About the role
We are excited to offer this new role which is an opportunity to support our two London Crisis at Christmas teams. There is the Crisis at Christmas team who lead on the set up and delivery of our hotel and day centre delivery in the capital. This is a huge and innovation operation, supporting hundreds of people out of rough sleeping. It also involves huge numbers of volunteers. The postholder will be working alongside the Crisis at Christmas team and Christmas Case Management Team to develop this post. You will form part of the local Leadership team, supporting the implementation of Psychologically Informed Environments (PIEs). You will support the delivery of our work to members by offering training and leading reflective practice for staff and providing direct services to members at times. You will be working alongside the Christmas team to plan how we ensure our service offer is psychologically and trauma informed as well as developing and delivering training for volunteers and staff and supporting the delivery of our services. You will be joining a part-time Psychologist working into the Christmas Case Management team, as well as several Psychologists who are also based in the London Skylight.
You will also be a part of a national psychology team made up of a Lead Clinical Psychologist, two Regional Lead Clinical Psychologists, and seven Practitioner Psychologists as well as one Assistant Psychologist and Trainee Clinical Psychologists on placements.
We are committed to ending the homelessness of more people using our direct services, including people with complex needs. To do this, we are seeking either full-time or part-time Practitioner Psychologists to work with us to develop a new and innovative role supporting our Christmas teams.

About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Digital Product Designer to join our in-house team and drive the design and development of innovative digital products. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating user-friendly, visually appealing, and functional web experiences. In this role, you will lead the User Experience (UX) design process from ideation to implementation, ensuring products meet user needs and business objectives.

- Design and prototype engaging digital experiences using tools like Figma and other associated design software.

Here at Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, we provide specialist palliative care and end-of-life support to over 750 babies, children, and young people living with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, as well as approximately 3,000 people, including families, siblings, and carers, across the East Midlands. The Research, Evidence and Impact Team has a vital role in ensuring that The Children's Society retains a clear and authentic understanding of young people's lives, with a focus on what is most important to building or preserving wellbeing. Our charity has been at the forefront of research on children's wellbeing for 20 years, alongside conducting child-centred studies on adolescence, risk and vulnerability (e.g. on Child Exploitation), and child poverty, exploring the issues that jeopardise young people's safety, health and opportunities. We have a track record for innovation (e.g. developing a validated and widely used 'Good Childhood Index') and work with academic partners and other organisations who share our vision of a society built for all children.

THE TYPE OF PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are currently looking for two early career researchers / evaluators who can make a key contribution to the delivery of research, evaluation and impact projects for The Children's Society. You will be joining a team of experienced researchers to work across a varied and exciting range of projects. The Purpose of the Role
As Director of Communications, UK, you lead IRC UK’s core communications strategy with the objectives of growing our profile, influencing policy, driving income, and protecting our reputation. Role Overview:
The Product Development Officer will be responsible for designing and producing innovative, dynamic STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) content for Cambridge Science Centre. Reporting to the Head of Exhibitions, this role requires a creative approach to developing exhibits, shows, workshops, and activities that are interactive, age-appropriate, and engaging for a diverse audience. This role enables vulnerable people with mental health needs to maximise independent living skills and opportunities for social inclusion as wells as manage their tenancies. The purpose of this role is to support customers developing the skills needed to move on to other appropriate accommodation with lower levels of support and greater levels of independence.
This role involves early and late shifts as well as occasional weekend and bank holidays.

What you'll do:
Undertake key-working responsibilities for a caseload assigned by the Team Leader/ Manager
Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs and potential risks and agree levels of support and actions
Create support/action plans for providing appropriate services based on the assessment and reflecting the services and resources available
Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation
Support individuals to manage their prescribed medication
Develop and maintain links with all key agencies and service providers in the local community
Empower customers to ensure they receive the service and benefits they are entitled to
Carry out H&S and Fire Safety checks in individual rooms as well as communal areas of the building
Identify and report appropriately any Safeguarding concerns
Promptly report and follow up maintenance issues
Undertake all administrative work and keep accurate and comprehensive tenant/customer records to professional standards
Encourage and enable tenants to pay their rent and to ensure that rent accounts are managed effectively in conjunction with the Housing Management team
Ensure that referrals are chased proactively so that properties which can be used to house those in need are filled as efficiently as possible

Main areas of responsibility
Focussed on the Coronation Food Project (CFP) Hubs across the Head of Commercial Development will lead the strategic direction and operational execution of commercial initiatives and activites.
This key leadership role includes identifying growth opportunities, developing partnerships, optimising revenue streams, and ensuring alignment with overall business and charitible objectives.
The ideal candidate will combine visionary thinking with pragmatic execution to drive sustainable long term growth, focussed on income diversification and generation alongside raising awareness of the programme with key stakeholders.
The key focus of the role will be:
- Identifying, planning and implementing commercial based strategies and a framework to diversify income steams to support the development of a sustainable of Hub network.
- Successfully deliver an ambitious growth strategy across new partnerships.
- Working collaboratively with the Hub Development teams, delivering a seamless strategy, focussing on partnership management, strategic business planning and maximising income value.

Job Title: Rise Community Events and Travel Assistant
Location: Rhodes House in central Oxford, hybrid working

We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Events and Travel Assistant to join the Rhodes Trust, Oxford. This role will provide logistics support for planning and delivery of the 2025 Rise Residential Summit and additional Rise events. These events will consist of learning experiences designed to: leverage expertise from the Schmidt entities and the Rhodes Trust Partnership Programmes network; build communities of practice and foster cross-collaboration; and maximise the impact of nearly 400 Rise Global Winners as they work together to solve humanity’s most pressing problems. In this role, the Assistant, Rise Community Events and Travel will work closely with the Manager, Rise Community Events, the Learning & Impact team, the Support Services team, and other individuals within the Rhodes Trust and the Schmidt entities.
