About us
Who we are
The IRC's impact at a glance
The International Rescue Committee responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and gain control of their future.
Thanks to the generosity of IRC supporters, more than 23 million people benefited from IRC programs and those of our partner organizations in 2015—nearly 5.5 millionmore individuals than we were able to reach in 2014.
What we do
The mission of the IRC is to help people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover and gain control of their future.
Where we focus
The IRC will put in place high-impact, cost-effective solutions that help people affected by crisis. We'll also use our learning and experience to shape humanitarian policy and practice in ways that improve the lives of more people worldwide.
Our culture and values
The IRC Way describes the three core values of Integrity, Service and Accountability, and the undertakings that flow from them:
Integrity
We are open, honest and trustworthy in dealing with clients, partners, co-workers, donors, funders and the communities we affect.
Accountability
We are accountable—individually and collectively—for our behaviours, actions and results.
Service
We are responsible to the people we serve and the donors who enable our service.
Equality
We strive for equal outcomes for all clients and colleagues by promoting equitable access to opportunities and services.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
IRC UK takes seriously its responsibility to promote diversity, equality, and inclusion as an organisation, including through the recruitment processes. We welcome applications from all candidates, including individuals with first-hand or indirect experience of conflict or displacement, women, people of colour and those from other under-represented groups, such as persons with disabilities.
