What is the overall purpose of the role?

At Youth Action Alliance, our mission is to support the personal and social development (their values, beliefs, ideas and skills) of the young people living in Kensington and Chelsea and neighbouring boroughs, enabling them to increase their resilience and skills in the present, and promote their ambitions for the future.

The Staying Connected project provides weekly one-to-one and group support for young people aged 11 - 19 years, facing multiple challenges. Creating a personal action plan comprised of positive activities that promote and enhance personal development and skills, building on young people’s strengths. This engagement is via face-to-face, online platforms, mobile phones and structured group work to maintain contact with them, talking about how they are feeling and to provide advice, mentoring and signposting to additional support services.

Key Responsibilities

Programme management

• Programme Delivery: Coordinate and oversee the development and implementation of a personal and social development programme for young people aged 11-19.
• Recruitment: Engage and recruit young people to participate in the programme.
• Partnerships: Strengthen local partnerships
• Risk and Safety: Update risk assessments and conduct regular health and safety checks
• Promotion: Manage promotional activities, including social media
• Funding Management: Handle project funding, do financial reports, and manage the budget and expenditure.
• Support Services: Provide one-to-one or group support through various communication channels and help young people achieve positive outcomes
• Action Plans: Create and monitor individual action plans for participants to track their goals and progress.
• Activities: Organize trips and positive activities in line with the programme
• Administration: Manage day-to-day operations and oversee all administrative tasks related to the programme.
• Partnership Building: Seek and build partnerships with external stakeholders
• Representation and Liaison: Represent the organisation at various meetings

Staff management

• Staff Management: Oversee and guide the Staying Connected Support Worker(s) to ensure high performance and efficient delivery of the programme.
• Facilitator Management: Directly manage facilitators involved in the programme,

Reporting / grant management

• Budget Reporting: Prepare and present budgetary reports
• Data Management: Ensure the accuracy and timely input of project data,
• Performance Monitoring: Collate and present statistics on project performance
• Report Production: Generate reports demonstrating key data
• Business Development: Identify and pursue business development opportunities to build new partnerships and enhance programme delivery.

Evaluation

• Feedback Collection: Gather and document feedback on young people's experiences and progress through various methods
• Impact Demonstration: Use collected feedback to demonstrate the programme's impact and support efforts to secure future funding.
• Youth Voice Integration: Ensure that the feedback and perspectives of young people are incorporated into the design and delivery of the service

Person Specification

Knowledge & Experience

The Staying Connected Support Worker will bring:

• Minimum Youth Work and/or Mentoring Qualification Level 3
• Experience in the charity sector, the voluntary sector, or the community sector would be desirable.
• Management experience
• Experience working with children, young people and vulnerable adults
• Competent in the use of MS Word, Excel, and the ability to use databases for recording and reporting.
• Excellent time-keeper and manages own time effectively to keep to deadlines
• Excellent Literacy – you will have excellent communication skills, including writing skills.
• Have good interpersonal skills and some experience of engaging with a diverse group of people, including young people and vulnerable adults.
• Qualification of Health, wellbeing, and/or advocacy

To make this vision a reality we need an outstanding Youth Team Manager to join us on an interim basis of 12 months. As an experienced manager of a youth team provision or experienced youth worker, you will be passionate about driving excellence and facilitating young people to develop their talents. 

We offer nurture and support to working class young people (aged 11 - 14) who have faced numerous challenges and a well-meaning but often erratic education system.

Our primary focus is to design an approach that offers care, support, connection, hope and aspiration. An approach that pushes young people to believe they can be more, but first establishes the solid foundations to catch them when they fall (and they will, often). An approach that first cares about what young people care about, where adults act as mentors and provide space for safe conversations that calm the raging fears of teenage minds.

We believe that a truly motivated and committed village can raise very special children and we intend to create an environment where young people believe they can soar, with the community support, cultural development and a curriculum that supports fierce critical thinking.

This is no ordinary school or educational establishment. We have a board of trustees all aged 18 - 30 years old who have shaped the vision, created the curriculum and who will oversee the process at every stage.

About this job

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development and delivery of a 3-year train the trainer pilot programme in the chosen pilot locations in England or Scotland.

The pilot will train and equip local health care professionals, health promotion workers and local community workers with the knowledge and resources to promote breast awareness, breast screening and risk reduction messages in their own communities.

Supported by a public health development officer, train the trainer (1 based in England and 1 based in Scotland), who you’ll also line manage, you’ll lead on the development and delivery of the in-person programme, including marketing materials, resource packs and ongoing support for trainees. You’ll also identify opportunities, agree timescales and associated logistics for training delivery within the pilot areas.

We’re looking for someone who is experienced in leading on the development and delivery of insightful and engaging workshops or public health focused projects, to a range of audiences from health or community-based organisations. The right candidate will have a good understanding of health inequalities, the challenges they present to health behaviours and outcomes, and be passionate about addressing these challenges. About the role:

We are seeking a Head of Operations to work with the CEO and senior leadership team to manage a broad scope of operational functions, including workplace governance, people management, digital support, data and risk management. The Head of Operations will be a collaborative and hands-on professional with project and people management skills, a track record of operational change management, and the ability to inspire colleagues in new ways of working that ensure the efficient day-to-day running of the Foundation - driving system, quality and process improvements.

Title: Senior Administrative Manager

Location: Haywards Heath, with a preference for 1-2 days per week in the office

About the role

The primary purpose of the Senior Administrative Manager will be to support the NTD (Neglected Tropical Disease) Department in functioning effectively and efficiently. This role involves coordinating administrative and support systems, procedures, and sub-teams essential for the management of the NTD portfolio.

Background

Sightsavers’ NTD directorate oversees projects funded by various donors to control and eliminate five PC-NTDs: onchocerciasis, lymphatic filariasis, trachoma, schistosomiasis, and soil-transmitted helminths in 28 countries. These projects are executed by country office teams, ministries of health, and partners, with operational and technical support from the NTD Department.

Principal Accountabilities 

• Oversee the creation and renewal of requested consultancy agreements with Human Resources, ensuring appropriate procedures are followed and records are kept updated.
• Manage the contractual organisation of the team of internationally located technical consultants and work with the relevant Global Disease Advisor to coordinate all aspects of support missions undertaken by the them 
• Ensure professional meeting support for all external NTD meetings with donors and international partners as requested by the NTD SMT.  This includes logistics, room bookings, agendas, slides, recording, virtual participation where required and minute documentation and distribution. 

• Assemble information as required for presentations, communications and reports, and manage internal document storage systems (Microsoft SharePoint and Teams). 

• Support the Grant Directors and IFT to compile key donor milestone reports and ensure a fully functional and accessible external ShareFile system for key donor groups where required

• Support communications both within the NTD Department team and with external stakeholders through dissemination of newsletters and maintaining contact lists. 

• Using all members of the admin team, coordinate the support for all regular internal PDU calls (recurring invites, agenda sharing and minute taking).

• Provide travel support to the SMT and Grant Directors where requested. 

• Manage/supervise NTD Dept Coordinator

• Undertake additional ad-hoc administrative duties as required.

The Head of Fundraising & Communications will operate as an effective member of the Leadership Team, reporting directly to the CEO and acting as the strategic lead for the charity’s fundraising and communications activity.

Person Specification:

• Experience of working in a communications role/closely with communications teams to maximise the opportunities to engage externally and increase support/awareness.

How would you contribute to Cycle Sisters’ mission? 

Cycle Sisters has grown hugely over the past few years, with an expanded range of programmes and activity. We are keen to continue this journey of growth and have just finalised a new strategy for 2024-2027 which prioritises reaching more women and girls, and ensuring our financial sustainability.

The Fundraising Lead will play a critical role in supporting our ‘sustainability' strategic priority to ensure Cycle Sisters can access the resources it needs to keep making a difference.   This post-holder will lead on growing Cycle Sisters’ unrestricted income, with a focus on community fundraising and corporate partnerships.

The post-holder will need to be an excellent networker, confident in representing the organisation externally and able to motivate a range of stakeholders to financially support Cycle Sisters’ work.

What would you be doing?

Below is a list of responsibilities which provide a broad outline of the role.   This is not an exhaustive list as Cycle Sisters is a small team which requires flexibility.

This is a new part-time role and we will work with the successful candidate to develop a workplan which is realistic within the hours available.   There will also be support from other team members on some of the areas of work.

General responsibilities 

• Develop strategies to achieve income targets across the areas outlined below 

• Ensure all fundraising initiatives are properly planned, delivered, monitored and evaluated.   All activities should be conducted in adherence to best practice, Cycle Sisters’ ethical policy and charity law. 

• Represent the organisation externally including networking, delivering presentations and speaking at events 

• Work with the Communications & Media Lead to create compelling fundraising messages and materials for a range of audiences 

• Work collaboratively with other team members in Cycle Sisters to maximise all opportunities for fundraising 

Individual Giving and Community Fundraising 

• Oversee event/challenge fundraising, liaising closely with volunteer fundraisers to maximise income and ensure fundraisers feel valued and appreciated 

• Work with the Communications & Media Lead to ensure donors feel valued and appreciated 

• Develop and implement a regular giving strategy, helping us to progress donors from one-off to regular giving

• Work with the CEO to develop a “membership” scheme to generate regular income from Cycle Sisters’ participant network with incentives and benefits for members 

• Work with an external agency to secure income through digital fundraising 

Corporate Fundraising 

Working closely with the CEO: 

• Develop relationships with existing corporate partners, ensuring partners feel valued and are receiving regular updates

• Research and identify new corporate fundraising prospects.  Develop relationships through networking and representing Cycle Sisters externally.

• Create tailored packages to secure in-kind and financial support from corporate partners 

• Develop ideas for earned income services for corporate partners e.g. led rides

Governance Manager

CAFOD, one of the 15 member agencies that make up the Disasters Emergency Committee, is the official aid agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales and stands alongside vulnerable communities across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

CAFOD is seeking a Governance Manager to temporarily support our Leadership & Governance team. Reporting directly to CAFOD’s Director and managing the Leadership & Governance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring effective governance, strategic leadership, and strong Trustee relations during this interim period. This is a part-time position requiring two days of commitment per week for approximately six months.

Key Responsibilities

During the period of cover, some of the key responsibilities include:  

Governance & Strategic Leadership 

• Providing oversight of CAFOD’s Governance work & assisting in the further development and funding of CAFOD’s governance. 

• Identify emerging trends in governance and ensure that learning is reflected in CAFOD’s work and proposals. 

• Working with the relative department heads to advise the Leadership Team on the likely impact of new initiatives on CAFOD’s current strategy.

• Ensuring CAFOD’s work is in line with Charity Commission requirements and ethical standards are maintained.

 Engagement & Reporting  

• With the Leadership and Governance Officer and L&G Assistant, to support the Director of CAFOD in managing the relationship between the Board of Trustees and Leadership Team. 

• Ensure that all aspects of the Leadership Team and Board meetings are organised and conducted effectively in line with CAFOD’s governance principles. 

• Providing strategic guidance and support to CAFOD’s Trustees and Leadership Team 

• Developing a plan for the production of CAFOD’s Annual Trustees Report, and project manage its delivery.

• Assist with the external communication of CAFOD’s governance work with key donors and supporters.

Team Leadership  

• Providing management/mentoring to the Leadership & Governance Assistant where applicable.

• Working with the Leadership & Governance Officer in planning a governance work programme for 2025. 

• Provide guidance and oversight of all critical projects and support the team to deliver its objectives on time and to budget. 

• Overseeing the recruitment and induction of trustees to CAFOD’s Board.

Safeguarding

Person Specification 

ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience of leading areas of governance alongside building strong professional relationships with trustees.

• Experience of direct governance work in a registered charity

• Experience in being responsible for all governance activity, including liaison with the Charity Commission and servicing a Board of Trustees 

• A collaborative and supportive management approach, with experience in managing staff especially in a small team setting.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced interim Advice Service Manager to join our client's team. We are seeking to improve the support this role provides to the service we deliver to local residents. Establishing a sustainable structure will enable us to meet increasing demand in a more efficient manner to the people who need our help the most. This is an interim post for 6 months with scope to becoming permanent.

• A new permanent Head of Advice is being recruited to join the organisation and we will want them to focus on understanding and developing the advice service and contributing to a management review of advice in their first few months. We will therefore need an experienced ASM to ensure capacity for day to day planning of supervision and service is in place.
• We have already identified that the Head of Advice role is too large for one person without additional advice management being in place.
• We are growing our volunteer team as we need to build a volunteer team for the relatively new contract to deliver services into the Slough area. This requires focussed effort to ensure supervision support is in place to both manage the existing volunteer advisers and coach and grow new volunteers. Additional supervision capacity is being sought to assist this.
• This role will primarily be office based but there are opportunities for some hybrid working each week.
