About the Role
Reporting to the Deputy CEO this is an exciting role supporting one of the UK’s leading social investors.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about the work we do, is organised and has excellent attention to detail. Key responsibilities
1. To work closely with the Grants, Investments, and Development, Insight and Advocacy teams to ensure that SIB is well-placed to respond proactively and also reactively to business development opportunities.
2. To support the coordination and project management of existing business development projects in community energy, heating and cooling, social investment fundraising and capacity building.
3. To ensure that information is managed effectively, calls logged and tasks delegated, progressed and completed, feedback collected and meetings scheduled and facilitated across the wider business development team, particularly in relation to the CEO, Deputy CEO and Director of Investments, ensuring their input is sought in a timely way to progress key decisions.
4. To manage a calendar of events, calls and contacts across key areas of business development.
5. To take a lead (where appropriate) and/or work alongside others to create and/or deliver presentations in new and existing business development.
6. To manage (where appropriate) and/or work alongside others maintain long-term relationships with both current and new clients and partners.
7. To monitor tendering opportunities and manage and update the new business development pipeline.
8. To implement new systems to improve the efficiency of the business development processes, alongside business systems.
9. To work with the financial team to build costing models for new proposals and programmes.
10. To coordinate high quality bid responses for invitations to tender from funders, investors and other key client groups, to ensure that these are well-written and professionally presented.
11. To coordinate and contribute to a clear strategy and objectives for the business development function at SIB.
12. To attend relevant events or conferences and to keep up to date with the sector.
13. To adopt our continuous improvement and learning ethos.

Finance and HR Administrator
Contract: Permanent, full-time (subject to successful completion of a probationary period of three months)
Salary range: £26,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications

About the Role
We are seeking a full time Finance and HR AdministratorHuma to support timely processing of financial transactions, accurate accounting, consistency of financial records, supporting the year-end close as well as supporting the HR advisor with administrative tasks.
As the Finance and HR Administrator, you will become an integral part of our dedicated team, ensuring the smooth functioning of the HR and financial operations.
Duties and responsibilities
- Accounts receivable: review and issue of sales invoices, processing and uploading, and debt recovery, and follow-up invoicing queries.
- Processing direct debits and credit card expenses.
- Cash and bank reconciliation and updates of bank and deposit balances.
- Recording receipts: subscriptions, legacies, grants, gift aid & investment income.
- Reconciliation of receipts in the financial system and the CRM system.
- Ensuring accurate VAT coding and assist in the preparation of VAT returns.
- Support balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Support for ad hoc general accounting tasks as required.
- Manage the onboarding and offboarding process for employees including handling onboarding communications, HR system setup, stakeholder notifications, and IT ticket requests.
- Maintain and update the HR system, ensuring all employee records are accurate and up to date.
- Prepare internal correspondence and communications as needed.
- Oversee the HR and Finance inboxes, managing enquiries.
- Coordinate internal staff training sessions, ensuring smooth scheduling and communication.
- Maintain personnel files and general HR record-keeping.

ABOUT THE ROLE
People who work in operations have a multiplier effect, increasing the efficiency of their colleagues within the organisation by constructing processes that ensure the organisation operates smoothly and at top capacity. An excellent and more succinct description of operations management as a field comes from Gabrielle Zevin’s Tomorrow, Tomorrow and Tomorrow:
Though it took Sadie years to admit this to Sam, Marx did prove incredibly useful that summer. No, Marx wasn’t a game designer. He wasn’t an ace programmer, like Sadie, and he couldn’t draw, like Sam. But he did almost everything else for them, and his contributions ranged from the pedestrian, but necessary, to the creatively essential. Marx organised workflow, so Sadie and Sam were more aware of what the other was doing and what they needed to be doing. He made long lists of supplies they would need. He was more than liberal with his credit card—they always needed more memory and storage, and they were regularly burning out graphics cards—and he must have made fifty trips to the large computer store in Central Square that summer. He opened a bank account, and an LLC, Go, Ichigo, Go. He arranged for them to pay taxes (which saved them money in the short term by making their business purchases tax-free), and if, at some point, they needed to hire people, which he knew they would, he set them up for that, too. The Operations team provides operational support to AIM (e.g., human resource management, finance, productivity). The team also supports our incubated charities, assisting with their initial set-up after the program so they can hit the ground running, as well as ongoing ad-hoc requests and advice as needed. Added to this, Operations supports other participants in programs run by AIM(e.g., people completing fellowships with our research team). While this is less than for the Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program, it increases as these programs mature.
Our Operations team currently consists of ~2.8 FTE – our Chief Operating Officer (previous Managing Director and CTO of Founders Pledge), our Director of Operations (with a mixed background in legal services, management consulting, and scale-up operations), and a Senior Operations Manager (with a background in risk and security management in low- and middle-income countries). The team also relies on external contractors for some of its functions (e.g., bookkeeping, legal advice).

EXAMPLE OF THE WORK YOU'LL BE DOING

After an initial brief, independently organise the entire lifecycle of an event at our office expecting between ~15-50 people to attend. You would know the goal of the event, some parameters like the budget, and would have some light assistance from other staff or external partners with whom we’re co-hosting the event.

Effectively acting as an office manager/all-rounder for AIM’s London office. This means overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure smooth functioning, including managing office supplies, coordinating with service providers and contractors, and promptly triaging and resolving issues as they arise. Additionally, it means implementing and improving office policies, such as policies around hotdesking, inviting and vetting guests, meeting room usage, etc.

After supporting another department with their work, you realise that a series of manual steps they take could be made much more efficient by creating an automated workflow using Airtable and Zapier. You follow a user-centred design process to collect information about requirements, must-haves and nice-to-haves and then build a prototype to later test and refine.

Entirely oversee our managed accommodation for staff and program participants, responding to booking requests and changes, ensuring seamless check-in and check-out procedures, and promptly responding to requests or issues.

Knowing AIM’s internal policies and ensuring they’re being followed. For example, reviewing expenditure at the end of the month and checking adherence to our Financial Controls Policy, touching base with staff to check whether they have a professional development plan in place.
ABOUT YOU
This role will likely suit an early to mid-level operations generalist, but we’re also very interested in hearing from more senior operations specialists as there is room for future growth in responsibilities within the organisation depending on competency and expertise. We would also be keen for talented recent graduates applying for this position as many areas of responsibility can be learned by a quick learner fairly fast.

APPLICATION PROCESS
Our application processes aim to be highly predictive, time-effective, and informative for you. Our process consists only of stages that our best evidence suggests are predictive of success on the job (such as test tasks) rather than more common but less predictive stages (such as cover letters). ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial management
● Lead the setting, tracking and reporting of budgets and fundraising targets
● Maintain accurate records of income and expenditure on a cash and accrual basis
● Manage bookkeeping for the charity, including invoicing and bank reconciliations
● Keep accurate records of funding allocations, especially restricted and unrestricted income
● Work with our accountant to produce end-of-year accounts and prepare for audit
● Build strong relationships within The Economist Group finance team to support with financial management and compliance
● Ensure the charity remains tax compliant, including managing quarterly VAT returns and reviewing funding contracts
Operations, people and governance
● Build and maintain operational processes across the organisation which support the successful delivery of our work globally
● Support the team to accurately monitor and evaluate their progress towards targets
● Work with senior leadership and hiring managers to continually improve the recruitment and onboarding process
● Line manage the Programme Officer and support them to deliver programme and admin support
● Work with our company secretary to prepare annual accounts
Data management
● Manage GDPR-compliant data collection and storage, with accurate and up-to-date data to report on key targets
● Manage the presentation of data so that it is clear and accessible
● Build strong relationships across departments in The Economist Group to support with data management and legal contracts
● Work with team members to create and deliver comprehensive data metrics and collection plans and track progress towards KPIs on projects
● Work with our Head of Design and Product to lead on an upcoming digital transformation project including choosing an appropriate Customer Relationship Management system (CRM)

Main Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fundraising Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be a core member of the Central Team, working closely with the Marketing Team to develop and deliver the income stream for the charity with fundraising strategies that support StreetVet’s mission. This role will have budgetary responsibility and will involve building a donor database, donor and fundraiser stewardship, organising fundraising events, and securing grants and sponsorships.

Responsibilities:
Fundraising Management and Development
• Work with the Head of Marketing to develop and implement a balanced and realistic fundraising strategy, which builds on StreetVet’s strengths and maximises income for the charity.
• Deliver an integrated fundraising programme, which includes corporate partnerships, individual giving, major donors, trusts and foundations, legacies, community and events.
• Ensure all fundraising activity is compliant with GDPR and relevant fundraising regulation and that all data is accurate and maintained efficiently.
• Work with colleagues across StreetVet to proactively identify fundraising opportunities in line with our ethical fundraising policy and procedures, prioritising relationships where our values are aligned and we can achieve the biggest positive net gain for the human/animal bond and animal welfare.
• To maintain and develop the donor CRM platform including building supporter journeys to enhance donor experiences and maximise income for the charity.
• Work with the Head of Marketing to ensure that all opportunities to promote StreetVet and develop our fundraising and supporter engagement experiences are explored and maximised.
• Manage all aspects of finance and reporting relating to fundraising, including annual budgets, monthly reporting and re-forecasting. Provide monthly reports and updates on all fundraising activities and income streams
• Work with the Head of Marketing, internal colleagues and external stakeholders to create impactful storytelling and supporter engagement opportunities to maximise revenue streams.

Role Summary
ProVeg International is a global organisation made up of 12 national non-profit teams, each of which responsible for local fundraising, supported by an international fundraising team focused on major opportunities, international, and core funding.
The role of the Grant Writing Manager is to provide excellent and compelling fundraising content of all kinds, whether internal cases for support, proposals, applications or reports in order to support the goal of at least doubling our global income from around 15 to 30 million dollars in the next three years.
