About the role
Here for You is Breast Cancer Now’s personalised referral route to all of our services. 
There are 2 roles, both of which are responsible for making initial and follow up calls to primary and secondary breast cancer patients. 
We’re expanding our team due to demand and to continue to  ensure patients get calls within service level agreements. And to provide timely and trusted information and support to people diagnosed with breast cancer. This involves responding to safeguarding issues, collecting data, and deliver excellent information on the phone. 
The role also involves collaborating with colleagues focusing on the Here for You expansion and integration, as well as working with colleagues across the primary services, secondary services and personalised support services. The role also liaises with our Helpline team.

About you 
For both of these roles, we’re looking for enthusiasm and people with strong communication skills (especially on the phone) and who have experience of working in a fast-paced and people-facing environment. The right candidates will provide quality phone calls and be willing to adapt and innovate. We’re looking for team players, who understand the importance of co-production and who are motivated by providing information to breast cancer patients. You’ll bring excellent verbal and written communication skills and thrive on creating an inclusive work environment and working across multiple teams.

This role will be our first dedicated fundraising position at One World Together. As the Head of Individual Giving you will be responsible for:

• Designing a nation-wide community building stragegy to grow our Global Citizens membership and Solidarity Fund;

• Deepening our Global Citizen donor journey and building long-term relationships with our members and other supporters;

• Organising One World Together virtual, in-person and/or hybrid events;

• Supporting the development of our ongoing ‘business for good’ campaign and working with the broader team to pursue other forms of fundraising as they arise;

•  Managing a community-building and fundraising budget.

The Values, Skills, and Experience We’re Looking For

• 2+ years experience in leading, designing and implementing local or national fundraising community building strategies and demonstrable understanding of their reach and/or impacts;

• An understanding of and experience in developing long-term supporter commitment through regular giving and partnerships with donors;

• A strong experience of managing fundraising campaigns through different social media platforms and digital marketing strategies;

• An understanding of how to reach different segments of the population with fundraising messaging, including young people;

• Experience with CRM software (we use Beacon) and Mailchimp for managing campaigns and donor communications;

• Project-management experience, including planning and budget management;

• A strong commitment to our values of trust, solidarity and equity – and an understanding of why these are so important in a fairer funding system;

• Exhibits a motivation for innovation, action and a belief in a better world – and the role of collective action in achieving this;

Fundraising Officer

Salary: Up to £28,000.00 Per Annum, Plus Desirable Benefits

Full-Time, Permanent Position

Based at Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve

This is a newly created and pivotal role in The Aspinall Foundation’s small fundraising team. The Fundraising Officer will be responsible for the delivery and implementation of the charity’s key adoption fundraising programme and supporting the effective running of the Department as a whole.

Within this role, you will work closely with the Head of Fundraising to lead and manage key fundraising initiatives, including adoption programs, lottery communications, and a variety of in-person and virtual events. Responsibilities include improving donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship across multiple channels, while also supporting community fundraising and merchandise efforts.

The candidate will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to develop compelling fundraising materials and maintain strong relationships with donors and volunteers. Additional duties include ensuring compliance with fundraising regulations, monitoring budgets, and providing administrative support to the Fundraising Team as needed.

The successful candidate will possess excellent IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and have prior experience using CRM databases. While knowledge of GDPR and previous experience in the charity sector are preferred, they are not mandatory. Contract details:

Role Description

Mission of the role

Support the overall income generation of the organisation through developing three income streams: mentor programme sales, grants from trusts and foundations and corporate donations.

Structure and remuneration

• Days: 4 days per week (32 hours)

• Location: 2 days/week from office in Kennington, option to work from home for the other two days

• Management: Managed by Founding Director

• Salary: £38,000 pro-rata 

• Holiday: 33 days pro rata, plus Christmas office closure

This role is an income generation role with a focus on corporate giving, grants from trusts and foundations and sales from our mentoring programme.

Role Responsibilities 

Corporate Giving

• Identify and research potential corporate social responsibility (CSR) partners aligned with the organisation's mission.

• Support Founding Director to develop relationships with corporate partners to secure funding

• Create compelling partnership proposals, including staff volunteering opportunities, to prospective corporate partners, ensuring that volunteering opportunities within corporate partnerships are supporting the impact of our programmes

• Maintain and nurture relationships with partners, ensuring mutual benefits and long-term collaboration.

Trusts and foundations

• Identify and research grant opportunities from foundations, local councils, and other funding bodies.

• Write and submit high-quality grant applications, including all required documentation and follow-up reports.

• Maintain a grants calendar to track submission deadlines, reporting requirements, and renewal opportunities.

• Prepare reports for funders and stakeholders where appropriate

Sales from Mentoring Programme

• Identify and engage prospective clients, especially in areas identified as target sectors based on trends in mentee interest

• Create marketing materials to effectively communicate the value of the mentoring programmes.

• Manage the sales pipeline, from initial contact through to closing deals and onboarding new clients.

• Maintain and nurture relationships with clients to ensure long term relationships

• Organise talks and create marketing materials to recruit mentors from within client companies in line with our programmes calendar

General

• Maintain presence on LinkedIn

Fundraising Lead

We’re looking for an experienced Fundraising Lead to join an important charity that exists to help Surrey’s unpaid carers, aged 5-95 to help people feel more in control of their lives and less alone.
 

Position: Fundraising Lead

Location: Burpham, Surrey

Hours: Part-time, 30 hours per week

Salary: £25,875 for 30 hours per week, full-time equivalent salary is £31,051

About the role:

The Fundraising Lead will be responsible for building and maintaining corporate partnerships that increase income and diversify funding. The post holder’s primary focus will be community organisations, businesses and other bodies.

You will support the organisation to deliver services and support for unpaid carers. You will be engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, and drive fundraising efforts, community engagement, gifts-in-kind, volunteer engagement and awareness raising.

Purpose: you will be the key resource within a small fundraising team, with responsibility for applying and securing funding to cover our core costs, as well as grant applications for specific community activities and building projects. As the only paid member of this team, you will take the lead in researching, applying for, and reporting on grant application progress with charitable trusts and other potential funders, in line with our fundraising strategy. You will also be a member of our Operations Team, which meets weekly to oversee the day-to-day efficient running of The Hub.

Contract: 2-year contract initially, subject to successful completion of a 4-month probationary period.  

Hours: 8-12 hours per week, to be agreed upon appointment. Within reason, we are flexible about when these hours are worked throughout the week, although we would expect the successful candidate to regularly attend the weekly Operations Team meetings on Tuesdays, in person.

Background:

The Leatherhead Community Hub (LCH) was established in July 2020, as a dedicated community centre in North Leatherhead. LCH provides opportunities for people to come together socially and build community, as well as giving our partner organisations a permanent base from which to offer critical support and services to local residents, including the local Foodbank and Community Fridge. Our mission is to create a safe, welcoming space at the heart of the community, where people of all ages can connect, learn, have fun, and find the support they need to thrive. The Hub attracts around 3,000 visitors a month to our café and the many other community activities and events run by LCH, our partners and other local groups.

LCH has a yearly budgeted turnover of over £200,000 (2024/25), excluding funds raised for a major building project. Just over a half of this amount is from the café & tenant rental income, and the remainder is from grants & fundraising activities (including a 3-year grant from the National Lottery).

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Researching potential funding opportunities, with a particular focus on charitable trusts and local authority grant schemes. (Other members of the fundraising team will take the lead in fundraising from local businesses, schools, and churches).
• Submitting a regular flow of small and larger grant applications to meet core costs and match other identified funding needs, with support from the rest of the fundraising team.
• Attending monthly meetings with the fundraising team, including setting the agenda and updating the rest of the team on progress towards our fundraising targets.
• Maintaining a database of past, current and prospective grant applications, as well as digital copies of all grant applications, award letters, etc.
• Monitoring and fulfilling the reporting requirements of successful grant applications, ensuring that we are collecting information on outputs/outcomes set out by funders.
• Attending weekly meetings of the Operations Team, to keep in touch with what is going on at the Hub and identify future funding priorities. 

Requirements of the postholder 

Essential:

• A positive and flexible approach to work - able to handle new or competing demands and work under own initiative, without close supervision.
• Excellent written communications skills – able to write clearly, persuasively and passionately about the charity’s work.

• Proven experience of working in a charity, trust or other fundraising role.

upReach has grown quickly over the last 5 years, and our successful Income Generation brings with it a number of administrative elements, which are currently spread across numerous team members. We are investing in this new position in order to centralise those diverse admin responsibilities, with the Income and Finance Liaison Senior Officer taking full ownership of the associated processes and deliverables, and helping to establish "best practice" to support the Charity in our next growth phase.

The Income and Finance Liaison Senior Officer will contribute to the growth of upReach by working across the Income Generation and Finance teams contributing to a wide range of income and finance related activities. You will support the teams to meet income targets and deliver the 2024-27 strategic plan.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Director of Income Generation and External Engagement you will work closely with the Director of Finance, CEO, Finance and Programmes teams, and colleagues across the income generating and external engagement team;  supporting them to meet financial targets, provide excellent stewardship and to  implement key administrative and financial processes. 

The core responsibilities include: 

Income generation and External Engagement

• Ownership of a range of administrative tasks, including stewarding of donors and partners and support of the Development Board.

• Promptly addressing incoming queries from supporters and partners, including email, telephone and post; assist the team by managing;

  • Departmental email inboxes

  • Prioritising requests and responding where appropriate

• Oversee the management of contracts with partners and funders; generate, issue and follow up in a timely fashion.

• Support the timely production of monthly management reports.

• Play a key role in the complaints procedures for the department and conduct full investigations where needed.

• Work with the team to ensure all relevant data is created and maintained regularly and accurately on the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) database.

• Keep on top of developments, changes in trends and patterns, new techniques and legislation. 

Finance

• Act as the key liaison point between the income generation and finance team.

• Work with Finance to identify and find solutions to bottlenecks in the purchase order, invoicing and payment process.

• Ensure that money coming into the charity can be identified and coded accurately on the CRM database and finance systems.

• Create and maintain accurate records in the finance system, including billing values, timings and dates.

Team Working

• Work with colleagues across the department and organisation.

• Lead and support rotatees (Team members on the Graduate scheme) and volunteers as required.

• Ensure upReach promotes a high performance culture and professional integrity.

• Support the implementation of business improvement and people development initiatives.
