About us
Who we are
Lymphoma is the most common cancer among young people aged 15-24 and the fifth most common among the general UK population. Every 28 minutes someone receives a lymphoma diagnosis.
Lymphoma Action - formerly the Lymphoma Association - is the only UK wide charity solely dedicated to lymphoma – a complex cancer, with more than 60 different subtypes, which can appear in any part of the body. We exist to make sure that - through information, education, support and influence - no one has to face their lymphoma alone. We also work with the nurses and doctors who treat and support lymphoma patients, as well as engage in policy and lobbying work at government level and within the NHS with the aim of improving the patient journey and experience of people affected by lymphoma.
It is an exciting time to join Lymphoma Action as we:
- - Have recently rebranded and launched a new website
- - Further develop our regional presence so that we can provide and run more local support services, engage with local health professionals, increase partnership working and raise awareness of lymphoma.
- - Introduce a quality of life-based research programme targeted at improving lymphoma outcomes, with a focus on the impact that new and existing treatments have on people’s ability to return to a ‘new normal’ life.
- - Build on our Live your life education and survivorship programme by running more conferences as well as developing workshops for people aged 18-25.
We are a small and friendly organisation, with 42 staff mainly based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire and about 200 volunteers - including those who run our support groups, fundraisers or our trained peer supporters.
If you think you have the skills to join us then we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch.
