Position: Trust Energy and Environmental Manager
Location: Can be based at Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, Bristol or West Midlands. There will be requirement to travel across the UK to visit sites as necessary.
Hours: 40 hours per week (full-time)
Salary: £41,732 - £43,404 per annum

As a key member of the central property team, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing the Trust’s energy and environmental commitments, with particular emphasis on utilities management and for implementing carbon reducing initiatives across all Ruskin Mill Trust properties, subsidiaries and all other connected entities as directed by the Trust Head of Property.
In this role you will:
- develop and manage the Trust’s strategy to satisfy legal and voluntary requirements relating to energy and carbon, including CCL (Climate Change Levy), ESOS (Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme), SECR (Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting), MOPs (Meter Operating Contracts), EPC (Energy Performance Certificates), and DECs (Display Energy Certificates)
- ensure data is complete and the required submissions are made to the relevant agencies such as the Environment Agency, Ofgem, HMRC and CHPQA.
- Support with utilities brokers and suppliers
- maintain effective cost management and ensure carbon reduction targets are achieved
- work with energy purchasers to identify and renew contracts.
- identify, procure and oversee (to completion), specific utilities saving projects across the Trust
- provide a 6 monthly energy performance & management summary to the RMLT & RMT Trustee Boards.

We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a project worker to lead our Centre for Warmth initiative, a vital community-driven project aimed at improving access to essential services and supporting local residents in building stronger, more connected communities. This role will focus on engaging a wide range of community members, including working with schools to provide key information about CO alarms, supporting individuals in signing up for the Priority Services Register, and developing an engaging and inclusive program at our Oasis Community Space that brings people together.

You will be responsible for identifying local needs, coordinating services, and creating opportunities for residents to access important information and resources. Strong communication skills and a creative approach are key, as you’ll be working across various community settings to promote well-being, safety, and community cohesion.

The successful post holder must have:
· Good standard of basic education, (A-Level equivalent)
· Experience facilitating groups and organizing engaging group activities.

The Role
As Team Leader (Court Services) you will be in a crucial role, responsible for the effective delivery of the Witness Service within your court/s.
You will manage, motivate and develop a team of volunteers who support witnesses in their journey through the criminal justice system.
You will also develop and maintain key local stakeholder relationships with a view to promoting partnership working, and enhancing service delivery standards and effectiveness.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Contract Manager to join our In-House Maintenance team, helping deliver a high-quality repairs service to our tenant's homes. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and knowledgeable maintenance professional who is passionate about ensuring we can provide safe and affordable homes in our community.
Utilising your contract management skills and financial acumen, you'll manage responsive maintenance, void, damp and mould and disrepair works and services, ensuring they are delivered in a timely, cost effective, customer focused and safe manner. You'll be accountable for operational management of multiple contracts and projects, being mindful of annual budgets and revenue projects whilst building strong professional relationships with colleagues across the organisation, including finance and procurement.
As well as managing sub-contractors, you'll also lead and manage the performance and development of a team of Void Supervisors, providing coaching and other development support as required.
Our ideal candidate? Your CV and covering letter should highlighted the following:
- A relevant HNC or equivalent and/or possess significant technical experience in construction or maintenance related contract management.
- Experience of compliance legislation and strong knowledge of contract law, specifically NHF contracts and the use of NHF rates in an operational environment.

- People management experience, with a proven ability to lead and motivate your team to achieve challenging targets and objectives, using your excellent communication skills and ability to build strong professional relationships.

About the role
We are seeking an analytical thinker with a curiosity-driven mindset and a collaborative approach to working. This role will be central to our ongoing success as a highly regarded independent research organisation, building an evidence base in favour of embedding sustainability principles into business practices, regulatory and public policy thinking. You will help to amplify our voice with decisionmakers, including business leaders, senior officials in central government, regulatory bodies, and amongst politicians, helping to shape public policy and legislation for a socially equitable and environmentally sustainable economy.
Ideally, you will have a sector-specific understanding (energy and/or water utilities), including familiarity with key policies and strategies, such as Net Zero targets, climate adaptation strategies, and consumer vulnerability protections. You will be able to draft practical policy recommendations, informed by evidence and stakeholder input, and be familiar with key players, including government departments, regulators, consumer groups, industry bodies, and environmental organizations. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a core role in our charity, as well as make a tangible impact on the environment and social equity in the UK.
The post will be primarily based remotely, working from home, but with access to shared office space in Camden and Monument in London. Our board of trustees meet twice a year in person in central London (and twice more online), and our Executive Director is often in London for meetings once or twice a week. You must also be able to attend occasional meetings in central London and be willing to travel (infrequently) within the UK.
