This is an exciting opportunity to join our new service supporting Unpaid Carers across Lewisham to improve their health and wellbeing, and access support that meets their needs.

The team works with unpaid Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers, completing statutory and holistic assessments to understand people’s individual circumstances and level of need. You will carry out home visits and community meetings, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Unpaid Carers, families, and professionals.  

You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Unpaid Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. You will also support the development of escalation plans so that Unpaid Carers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances that would impact negatively on ability to care.

Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with Unpaid Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector. You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Unpaid Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services. Experience of working in mental health or dementia services would be an advantage.

Policy Manager (Paediatric Standards)

The Policy Manager (Paediatric Standards) is a crucial role at the College as you will lead the development of new paediatric service standards with College Officers, members and child health professionals, thinking afresh as to the standards needed to ensure children receive timely access to high-quality, safe and effective care in a changing health landscape.

As Policy Manager (Paediatric Standards) you will consult with the College’s membership, health systems across the UK and key decision makers in health service development and regulation, to form a credible, influential set of standards that will reap benefits for children and the child health workforce.  

Reporting to the Head of Health Policy, you will establish and lead the project’s expert advisory group to generate a consensus on new standards, attending and contributing to Health Policy Committees and ensuring the project’s successful completion. Throughout the project you will also ensure the voice of children and young people is influential within the development of standards.

Whilst based in the Health Policy team, you will work collaboratively with colleagues in research and quality improvement to design a systematic review of literature to bring an evidence base to the scope of new standards development, all the while applying audit and quality improvement principles to the design and update of new paediatric standards.

You will also take responsibility for reporting on project milestones to Membership, Policy and External Affairs meetings and the College’s project portfolio boards, to identify, manage and mitigate project risks and issues.

Degree qualified and with relevant experience in a similar field of work such as standard setting, quality improvement or health policy, you will have demonstratable experience of understanding the critical role of quality standards within healthcare design, delivery and regulation (including quality improvement) across the UK.

With outstanding project management skills, evidenced by a recent and successful project, you will easily be able to identify, manage and mitigate risk.

You should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to understand and discuss complex issues. Your excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship management abilities as well as experience of working at a senior level with a broad range of stakeholders, will ensure you are able to take forward programmes of work.

A formal project management qualification and experience and knowledge of the children’s health sector would be desirable.

Mikuyu Tanzania ( formerly known as Livingstone Tanzania Trust)  is looking for an individual based in the UK with fundraising expertise and experience to our maintain and grow our portfolio of small /medium trusts and foundations together with our individual giving donors.

As a charity we are embarking on a new phase of growth with programmes that focus on building school infrastructure, enhancing resources, developing WASH programmes and developing new sustainable livelihoods programmes in rural Tanzania. 

Duties: 

Trusts and Foundations ( up to £10,000 donations) 

● Research new trusts and foundations for donor opportunities 

● Develop and manage a pipeline of funders 

● Write, submit and follow up on applications 

● Manage the reporting schedule and any feedback requests 

● Manage the database 

Individual Donors 

● Steward individual donors to promote value for Mikuyu Tanzania 

● Grow the individual giving portfolio 

● Manage requests from new donors 

● Compile and distribute newsletters for individual donors 

● Manage the annual Big Give campaigns 

● Run any fundraising events as required 

Skills Required 

● Excellent organisational skills 

● Minimum 3 years’ experience of fundraising in the international development charity sector

● Excellent written and oral communication skills 

● Fluent in English 

● IT Literate preferably experience of Microsoft Office (Word; Excel, Powerpoint) Canva, Salesforce, Slack, Google Workspaces

Join the Stacey Street Hostel team and play a pivotal role in transforming the lives of individuals who have faced rough sleeping and complex needs. As a Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker (SMDW), you'll provide specialist interventions through our recovery programme, which is rooted in harm minimisation, dual diagnosis support, and strength-based recovery frameworks. You’ll work closely with a dedicated team of professionals, including the Services Manager, Team Manager, and Project Workers, to deliver person-centred support plans and help clients access vital services such as health, mental health, and social care.

In this role, you’ll build trusted relationships with service users, advocating for their needs and empowering them to engage with the support they deserve. You’ll be instrumental in identifying and overcoming system barriers that prevent clients from accessing the care they need, making a direct impact on their recovery and long term wellbeing. Your work will focus on providing intensive support, guidance, and skill-building to help clients gain the confidence and tools to maintain their engagement with treatment and support services.

Summary

The Finance department is a shared services function working across the NCIs to provide a comprehensive, cost-effective finance service to each organisation, and helping to co-ordinate joint projects where appropriate. The Finance department is on a change journey, transforming the way we work and the service we provide to the NCIs.

You will manage the Financial Accounting and Control team within the Finance department, preparing statutory financial reporting for a range of complex entities (incorporating investment, pension scheme, company and charity reporting requirements), overseeing period-end processes, and ensuring strong financial controls and good balance sheet management for the NCIs.

You will manage, motivate and develop your team to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of statutory financial reporting for each of the NCIs and provide a high-quality finance service to the NCIs. You will act as subject-matter expert on accounting matters, demonstrating excellent technical accountancy knowledge, and will be able to explain complex financial issues to finance and non-finance staff.

An excellent communicator, you will be able to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and will work collaboratively with the rest of the Finance team to build strong internal control processes. You will be someone who is always looking to improve processes and work smarter, collaborating with your finance colleagues to drive best practice in everything we do.

You will deliver relevant training and support across departments to help improve financial literacy and ensure compliance with relevant financial control procedures.

• This is a 15 month fixed-term contract
• A Basic DBS check will be completed as part of the pre-employment checks for this role

• A salary of £75,000 per annum, plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.
