About the role

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated evaluation manager to lead and develop a programme of evaluations. Working closely with the evaluation senior officer and colleagues across the organisation, this role is responsible for ensuring we have robust evaluation methods that produce high quality impact evidence to inform improvement plans for our charitable activities and future strategic direction. About the Role

We are looking for someone who is proactive and efficient with an eye for detail, who has experience working with smaller organisations, and who has a flexible and can-do attitude. The primary responsibilities would be to assist with BHRC communications, events organisation, and project administration. An interest in human rights issues or international development would be of benefit. They will have an awareness of having successfully provided debt advice in a regulated environment. 

The successful candidate would be expected to work a hybrid model of delivery - in an office environment, outreach sessions as well as home based. They would be expected to provide advice via omni-channels such as face to face, telephone and email advice.

To provide over-indebted Londoners with free, face-to-face/telephone advice that is accurate, effective and tailored to individuals’ circumstances. This includes:

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it. 

We are now recruiting the team that will deliver Crisis at Christmas 2024. This unique project mobilises a huge volunteering effort to provide warmth, companionship and vital services in temporary centres across London to people facing homelessness.

About the role 

We are looking for three new Project Assistants to support the delivery of a range of services our guests need to have a safe and happy Christmas. From healthcare and catering to advice and wellbeing services such as arts and crafts and salon, our services can make a real difference. You will support with the recruitment and management of Crisis at Christmas volunteers and external partners to help deliver services, ensuring teams have all the information and equipment they need. This is a varied role including processing volunteer applications, creating comms materials, managing, and communicating schedules, organising training, organising and setting up kit, ensuring our teams of specialists have the equipment and materials they need and helping out in our centres. 

This is great role to kickstart your career in the housing, homelessness, or volunteer events sector.

About you 

To be successful in this role you will have…

• Experience of providing administrative support in a busy events or project based environment 

• Experience of customer service and ability to deal with high volumes of enquiries via phone and email in a professional and friendly manner 

• Excellent spoken and written skills to communicate effectively and confidently with a wide range of audiences  

• Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines 

• Experience of providing administrative support including general office duties and maintaining accurate records   

• Strong IT skills and ability to utilise databases in order to process data effectively   

You may have experience running events or working on busy projects or have experience in a busy customer service or administration environment.  You should have an interest in the charity or homelessness sector and a commitment to Crisis’ purpose and values.

This will play a key role in carrying out a range of general health & safety room checks, cleaning, building maintenance and caretaking tasks. The role will report to and support the Facilities Manager in the delivery of planned, reactive maintenance and cleaning tasks.

The role will ensure a safe, clean and welcoming environment for residents, employees and visitors by providing a repairing, maintenance cleaning service in order to keep the various buildings and grounds to the highest standard, whilst minimising the need for external contractors.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

• To support daily, weekly & monthly planned maintenance tasks as scheduled (fire alarm tests, water temperature recording, emergency lighting tests, etc.).
• Support Customer Services with planned room health & safety checks
• Support the delivery of first line response to reactive maintenance, cleaning and repairs.
• Minor building fabric spot cleaning, repairs, decorating tasks and plumbing repairs.
• Check of plant rooms and boilers for leaks and general condition
• Ensure equipment is well maintained, adequately stored and meets all safety requirements
• Ensure that all portable electrical appliances are tested as required
• Use a range of common hand and power tools to carry out your job as required
• Assist with inspection of the condition of the grounds, building and facilities
• General janitorial duties as requested.
• Ad-hoc porterage duties (moves and changes, furniture management and etc.).
• Maintain accurate digital documentation.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner.
• Proactively walking the Communal Areas and all floors, reporting and following up on any health & safety, maintenance or cleaning issues
• Ensure the organisation’s Health and Safety procedures regarding Safety at Work are consistently implemented and followed.
• Contribute to Risk Assessment activities and implement appropriate actions.
• Monitor and liaise with Sub-Contractors ensuring good Health and Safety Practices are being carried out and quality of work is of high standard.
• Clear snow and grit paths during bad weather periods.
• Ensure that all duties and services provided are in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Monitor and action tasks listed on in-house systems, in a timely manner, ensuring the key performance indicator requirements are in place.
• To comply with individual responsibilities, in accordance with work role for health and safety in the workplace.
• To undertake such other duties within the competence of the post holder which may be required from time to time.

Experience

• Experience of risk assessment or a health & safety qualification
• Experience of building cleaning and maintenance, handyperson or caretaking duties.

Qualifications

• Building trade or health & safety/facilities management qualification
