About the Role

You will use community development skills and knowledge to deliver training and support services and local organisations to enable effective delivery of Time Credits. Working alongside the central support function you will design and run local events and trips to ensure that Time Credits flows, providing opportunities for people to earn and encouragement for them to use Time Credits. You will manage relationships with key local stakeholders to ensure your projects meet contractual targets, enabling the network to flourish.

My client is a UK health charity that works to transform care and patient experience; from small but impactful initiatives through to funding pioneering technology. With an investment portfolio of £150 million, their income is generated through property management as well as a traditional fundraising approach.

The finance function has recently been transitioned from being fully outsourced to an in-house operation. With new people, processes and systems bedding in, they are looking for interim support to assist with year end delivery and process review.

Key deliverables:

Support the Director of Finance with the production of their year end accounts including fixed asset register, investment schedules and grant disclosures.

Completion of all outstanding reconciliation work.

Assist with the documenting and refining of finance processes to ensure a structure monthly close and reporting cycle.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified Accountant with a track record of preparing accounts to Charity SORP (audit or internal accounting). To provide the excellent service we are seeking to appoint a Grub Club Co-ordinator who will be preparing lunches for our young people with the help of young people themselves, while assisting them to complete their cooking OCN accreditation.  This offers an opportunity for you to join a close-knit team!

Skills required

Main duties and responsibilities:

• To prepare, cook and serve nutritional balanced food with the young people and staff
• To control portions and food cost management.
• Organise and supervise the food service.
• Allocate duties and responsibilities to the rest of the team and provide general supervision/oversight with the young people helping in the kitchen.
• Ordering weekly food stock on line; establishing and maintaining an appropriate stock control methodology.
• Ensure all supplies of food, equipment and cleaning materials are of the right standard.
• To produce menus and food plans with the young people and staff in accordance with guidelines on nutrition and healthy eating.
• Oversee administration of Cooking Open College Network Entry Level 3, Level 1 and 2 with support.
• Cleaning the kitchen, overseeing and maintaining kitchen cleaning schedules
• Compliance and Health and Safety and Food Safety regulation.
• Monitor the performance of young people assisting in the kitchen and reporting any issues to the Operations Manager or line manager.
• Ensure health, hygiene, and cleaning protocols are carried out in accordance with statutory regulations.
• Assist in the control of costs by monitoring and controlling supplies within the budget and by following through with the recommended menus.
• To liaise, as required, with the Operations Manager, Managing Director and others concerned with the running of the services.  To attend and contribute to supervision and attend staff meetings

We’re looking for a proactive professional to support our mission to transform loneliness into connection among isolated people and under-served groups in Tower Hamlets. In this hybrid role, you’ll have the chance to own and drive forward Globe Community Project’s communications strategy, taking a proactive approach to campaigns and initiatives, social media and supporter engagement, and meeting targets to inform, grow and reward our supporter base.

You’ll be joining the charity at a time of growth, and there’s scope for you to make a huge impact on our ability to reach and connect even more isolated people. As a loneliness charity, our communications are key.

You’ll either be in part-time work and looking for more hours, or a freelancer with space to take this on. You could work your hours across one or more days; we don’t mind as long as you can drive results, be flexible and responsive where needed.
