As a small, mission-driven charity, we are seeking a highly organised and reliable Freelance Executive Assistant to support our CEO and Operations Director, enabling them to focus on strategic delivery, fundraising, and programme development.

You will be confident, efficient, and values-driven, able to provide high-level administrative support and coordination. You will play a vital role in keeping our senior leadership organised and on track, ensuring smooth communication to enable the team to collaborate across all the activities and projects.

 

Key Responsibilites

This vital role will enable the leadership team to focus on strategic goals, fundraising, and programme delivery—by ensuring smooth day-to-day coordination behind the scenes. Working closely with the Operations Director, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

· Provide direct administrative and scheduling support to the CEO and Operations Director.

· Coordinate calendars, meetings, and travel arrangements.

· Draft and proofread correspondence, reports, and presentations.

· Manage digital filing systems and ensure documents are well organised.

· Carry out ad hoc tasks and small projects to support the smooth running of the charity.

· Coordinate and support the implementation and monitoring of internal policies.

· Support recruitment and onboarding processes including DBS checks and safeguarding training.

· Support the management of internal systems, team collaboration, and operational record-keeping.

 

Requirements

Essential:

· Proven experience as an Executive Assistant or in a senior administrative support role.

· Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Confident working independently and managing a busy workload.

· Professional, discreet, and experienced in handling confidential information.

· A good working knowledge of Salesforce

· Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and virtual meeting tools (Zoom/Teams).

· A strong interest in and alignment with Our Time’s mission and values.

Desirable:

· Experience in the not-for-profit, mental health, or education sectors.

· Familiarity with charity governance and trustee liaison.

· Experience supporting remote teams and coordinating both hybrid and inperson events or meetings.

We are fully remote and meet in-person approximately 2 – 3 times per year in a range of locations easily reachable by public transport (recently London and York).

The Stories Officer sits in the Marketing and Communications team and will focus on:

· Assist in managing storytelling requests from across RNID, providing vital support and crafting impactful and compelling narratives.

· You’ll be gathering and shaping powerful authentic stories that highlight the impact of RNID’s work, supporting RNID’s strategic goals.

· When you join us, you’ll dive straight into important campaigns like our Protect Your Hearing Campaign, helping to craft meaningful stories. You might find yourself out on location, capturing powerful stories firsthand from our amazing storytellers or coordinating a photo shoot featuring one of our celebrity supporters.

As Stories Officer, you will:

· Work closely with the Stories & Celebrity Manager, identify, interview, and write-up case study stories from people who are deaf, have hearing loss, or tinnitus to support RNID’s campaigns, media, and fundraising efforts.

· Manage and update our centralised database of case studies, celebrities, and influencers, ensuring all stories across the charity are recorded for effective stewardship. Maintain storyteller profiles, contact details, permissions, and consent forms while ensuring GDPR compliance in data collection and storage.

· Collaborate with PR, fundraising, digital, and campaigning teams to integrate storytelling into their work, identify their needs, and match case studies or celebrities to relevant projects.

· Support the development and delivery of storytelling content across multiple platforms, including social media, website, press, and marketing materials, ensuring content meets accessibility standards.

· Manage multiple internal and external storyteller requests.

We are looking for an individual with a passion for storytelling and a deep commitment to amplifying the voices of people who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus. You will have excellent writing skills, with experience in journalism, PR, or a similar field, and have a strong ability to craft compelling narratives that engage and inspire.

Your interviewing skills will be key, as you’ll need to connect with people from diverse backgrounds, ensuring they feel comfortable and confident sharing their stories. Sensitivity and empathy will be essential as you capture authentic, impactful stories. In addition, you’ll be an exceptional multitasker, able to manage multiple storytelling requests and competing priorities with ease. Your proactive and creative approach will drive you to consistently find new ways to tell powerful stories that align with the charity’s mission and strategic goals.

About the role

You will be responsible for developing and diversifying the base of supporters and achieving fundraising targets. You will help maintain our existing stable income but also develop other income streams, expand our supporter networks, and build our sustainability for the future. The successful candidate will develop and maintain relationships with trusts and foundations as well as corporate partners and individual givers. You will develop and deliver successful plans to diversify and optimize our income as well as maintaining and improving the tools, processes, and internal expertise to ensure sustainability. You will explore other forms of fundraising, such as crowdfunding, major donors, and events.

Skills and experience

You will have a proven track record of soliciting, managing, and securing income from diverse income streams. You will have experience of developing successful grant applications and proposals for support to trusts and foundations. You will have digital fundraising fluency such as using social media to build support and run crowdfunding campaigns.

You will be an outstanding written communicator with the ability to absorb and synthesize complex information and translate it into compelling written cases for support. You should have excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to relate to, influence, and persuade internal and external stakeholders at all levels. You should be proactive, positive, and able to work on your own initiative, learn and test creative approaches, and remain resilient in the face of setbacks. Shine Nurse Specialist (Adult nursing/ Paediatric nursing/ Registered General Nurse)

Shine’s Health Team 

Shine’s Health Team provides condition-specific health advice and support to people of all ages with spina bifida, hydrocephalus, NPH or IIH, promoting good self-management and enabling our members to live in optimum health.  The Team also aims to reduce the numbers of pregnancies affected by spina bifida and anencephaly through education around supplementation and fortification with folic acid, and other measures. 

Purpose of Job 

The Shine Nurse Specialist will deliver services and create resources to improve the health of Shine’s members, by informing members, their carers and professionals 

Principal Duties 

• To provide ad hoc advice to Shine’s members, their carers  and professionals on complex health issues, and signpost to NHS services 

• To attend and represent Shine at the Chelsea & Westminster Spina Bifida Clinic (for permanent role)

• To collect information, statistics and research from a variety of sources to inform Shine’s health projects 

• To create resources to inform and support members’ health 

• To develop training/information resources for professionals 

• To plan and deliver projects, events, presentations and information sessions for members and professionals 

• To provide an information resource for Shine staff 

• To form and engage with networks of health professionals 

• To represent Shine at events and meetings

Engagement Officer

Engagement Officers support the North West work with colleagues across the locality, with stroke communities and health care systems and in supporting people affected by stroke to provide the voice of lived experience. 

Position: S11264 Engagement Officer (two posts)

Location: Home-based, North West England. Frequent travel will be required as part of this role (includes team meetings and other external work related meetings)

The Role

Reporting to the Engagement Lead, the Engagement Officers will work with colleagues to deliver against planned activities, and continue building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders. You will be engaging with service providers, clinical partners, community groups for stroke survivors and carers in the locality; including managing relationships with voluntary led support groups, developing the North West groups network.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Enabling sustainable and supportive stroke communities to flourish in the locality

• Supporting stroke survivors to be able to take part in a range of different opportunities to provide the voice of lived experience.

• Building and maintaining key relationships with key stakeholders. 

• Identifying and developing opportunities to connect and facilitate stakeholders to influence and support change to improve the lives of those affected by stroke

• Supporting and developing volunteer led support groups

You will have experience/understanding of:

About the Role

The charity’s mission is to make data work for nature. The Better Biodiversity Data (BBD+1) programme is a bold new step towards transforming how biodiversity data is managed, accessed and used to support conservation, planning and policy decisions in Scotland.

As the new Data and Digital Services Manager, you’ll play a vital role in implementing and supporting a new, shared biodiversity data system developed with and for Scotland’s biodiversity community. This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role where you will:

• Work closely with local environmental records centres (LERCs), NGOs, recording groups, government agencies and developers

• Support system configuration and data migration activities

You will be familiar with a range of IT systems, particularly Office365 and be confident using databases and spreadsheets.

We're looking for a creative mind and empathetic team manager to join our Mass Fundraising team in managing our cash and appeals function. This team delivers inspiring fundraising campaigns to attract new supporters and build relationships with our existing donors. You'll also be responsible for overseeing the delivery of one of the UK's most well-known fundraising appeals: the Great Daffodil Appeal. By overseeing some of our biggest organisational fundraising moments you will be pivotal in the generation of income and support for Marie Curie.

Marie Curie has ambitious plans to double the number of people we can provide direct care and support to over the next five years. As the Individual Giving Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing our cash giving strategy and leading key fundraising moments, including our annual Christmas appeal and the Great Daffodil Appeal.

Your efforts will help ensure that everyone affected by dying, death, and bereavement has the best possible experience, reflecting what's important to them. You will manage a team of 6 and oversee the delivery of over £3.5m net income annually, making a significant impact on our fundraising goals.

Main responsibilities:
- Establish a clear direction and plan to achieve net contribution growth for Marie Curie.
- Promote cross-organisational collaboration to embed our integrated appeals approach and oversee the full experience of the product audience.
- Manage and oversee the allocation and prioritisation of projects to deliver the product strategy.
- Manage 6 direct reports, setting clear objectives and providing development opportunities.
- Develop ways of working to ensure high performance and an excellent supporter experience.
- Develop appropriate systems and procedures to meet statutory and organisational requirements, allowing the Cash Team to run effectively.

Key Criteria:
- Solid understanding of direct marketing and fundraising principles, fundraising rules and regulations, and the external charity environment.
- Proven experience in building strategic plans, ensuring progression of objectives, and project delivery success.
- Previous people management experience with demonstrable ability to lead high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills with the ability to build good relationships at multiple levels.
- Practical knowledge of campaign management, managing marketing budgets, monitoring, and using data effectively to drive results.
- Passion and dedication to Marie Curie's cause to inspire others and foster commitment.
- Willingness to travel occasionally across the UK and visit our London office 1-2 times a month.

We're recruiting for someone to lead our Capacity Building & Standards (CB&S) function on a maternity cover contract.

The CB&S function aims to build the capacity of organisations and institutions to embed the processes, skills, structures and cultures needed for effective public engagement in decision making. This includes work in the public, private and third sectors.On a practical level this includes developing and delivering training courses and mentoring programmes; setting up and supporting networks; authoring good practice guides and thought leadership pieces; being responsible for our Knowledge Base and tools; leading sector-wide standards development; and, managing and other programmes and projects that supports the embedding of public participation and engagement in the UK. 

In this role you will lead the CB&S team in the development, design and delivery of impactful and sustainable capacity building and standards setting programmes and projects. You will oversee the work of the function and quality direct work of around 10 people (both CB&S team and cross-function roles). You will be a member of our management team, be accountable for the function achieving its objectives, report on function performance to the board and oversee the implementation of our impact framework supported by the impact working group.

We work across the UK, with offices in Belfast and London. Many of our staff work from home across the UK or in a hybrid pattern, rather than being based at one of our offices, though we meet up regularly as a team

We're recruiting for someone to lead our public engagement work on climate and nature and ensure that the public are involved in critical decisions on how to reach net zero and protect the future of nature and land in the UK. 

Involve has a commitment to use our skills, time and experience to address big challenges. Climate change is one of those big challenges and is a policy area where citizen engagement on both principles and practice is vital.  It, and Net Zero in particular, risk becoming a polarised and politicised issue where there is little room for considered, inclusive decision making. 

This exciting role will lead and coordinate our work with institutions, and others, to find a way through difficult issues like low emission zones, the energy transition, industrialisation of green spaces and other challenges in a way that centres the people who are impacted, with a social justice and equity lens. This role will primarily sit within our Innovation and Practice (I&P) function - focused on practical delivery of public engagement such as citizen assemblies, juries and other deliberative processes. The successful candidate will lead several of our major climate change and nature projects, including the UKRI Net Zero Living project - working with 28 Councils to embed meaningful public participation in their route to net zero. You will also contribute to the training, standards setting and advocacy work that Involve does - maintaining and growing our reputation in climate and environment networks and communicating the contribution we can make and impact that we are having.

We have a significant track record in public deliberation on climate change. We ran the first Climate Assembly in the UK and have since delivered many projects in this area including the People’s Plan for Nature. We have developed a reputation for best practice public dialogue, deliberation and capacity building. We want to grasp the opportunity for deliberative practices to make a real contribution to the change needed to respond to the climate crisis. This is a great opportunity to play a central role in taking this work forward. We are looking for someone to bring experience in designing and running participatory and deliberative processes and a good understanding of the complexities and challenges of climate and/or nature. You will need to be committed to taking a collaborative approach -  co-creating and coordinating our strategy on public engagement across the organisation and build on the work that others are doing.
