About the role

You’ll take responsibility for all company secretarial activities and related governance responsibilities, ensuring the charity and its subsidiaries fulfil their statutory and regulatory duties in relation to company and charity law and regulation. 

You’ll provide leadership on governance matters and be a key support for the Chair, trustees, committee members, CEO, CFOO, and Executive Leadership Team, ensuring that the board and committees are run effectively and in accordance with the principles of the Charity Governance Code. What you’ll do

• Manage the board and committee functions within the charity, including minutes and effective follow-up on decisions and matters arising and the library of board and committee materials
• Act as the primary liaison and provide sound advice and proactive support to, trustees, committee members, the Chief Executive and other members of the Executive Leadership Team on statutory, legislative and procedural matters relating to governance of the charity and the trading subsidiaries
• Ensure the charity fulfils its statutory and regulatory duties in relation to company and charity law and regulation, including filing of statutory returns
• Support the Executive Operations Team to ensure effective internal governance that is aligned to non-executive structures and timetables.

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience of Company Secretarial duties including managing and minuting board meetings (or equivalent) and  providing support to trustees (or other non-execs) and directors
• A knowledge of good governance and experience of advising on statutory and regulatory duties in relation to charity and/or company law

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity for two Heads of Service to join our organisation! There are two positions to be filled one with a special focus on Criminal Justice Services and the other with a focus on Homelessness and complex needs including mental health.

You will be responsible for providing positive and inspirational leadership across services to create positive communities, empowerment to individuals, and ensure psychologically informed environments! Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm, with some Hybrid working as well as being based at Central Office, and making regular service visits. You will also take part of our out of office on call duty.

Head of Homelessness and Complex Needs

• Previous experience and knowledge working within homelessness and/or mental health services with a thorough understanding of the needs of the residents/participants in which we support

For both positions, in addition we require:

• Experience of leading teams that deliver complex and high-risk services
• Experience of working closely with commissioners 
• Experience of contract management and monitoring contractual performance
• Budget Management experience and/or willingness to learn financial management
• Previous experience in line management and development
• IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

People Leadership

• Provide high quality support, leadership, and line management to staff, offering guidance, support, and advice to the team to support them to perform to the best of their abilities.
• Provide leadership to employees throughout the employee life cycle. This includes but is not limited to;
  Recruitment, onboarding, inductions, probation reviews, support and supervision, employee relations, performance, learning and development, staff wellbeing and support, grievances, sickness, disciplinaries, retention and other areas which fall within the employee lifecycle. 
• Ensure Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in best practice and policy is in place and being embedded across all services. 

Operational Leadership

• Managerial and leadership oversight of the service area as agreed, ensuring delivery in line with Social Interest Group’s annual business plans, contractual requirements, and KPI’s, including making sure all legislative requirements and targets are being met. 
• Support managers to create person centred, psychologically informed environments that deliver high quality services which are underpinned by our theory of change.
• Responsible for regular review of operational dashboards and monitoring of performance and KPI’s, creating reports and submitting these to relevant stakeholders. 
• Create, maintain, and communicate reports using various channels and data software to measure various metrics of performance, trends, and other relevant reporting criteria. Communicate this effectively to various stakeholders internally and externally.

Organisational Growth/Business Development/Relationship Management

• Support with sourcing, developing, and improving operational growth. This could include supporting the organisation with finding new opportunities, supporting with bid writing process, and implementation process of new services and other opportunities in the organisation. 
• Support on commissioner negotiations to ensure contractual compliance is upheld between both parties, including negotiating pathways into services to mitigate reduced positive outcomes and associated financial loss.
• Lead on any mobilisations and implementation of new services in collaboration with all relevant departments across the business and deliver new services to budget requirements, in a timely manner.

Audit, Compliance, Risk

• Regularly undertake staff-assessment audits of services against key quality and risk standards, and ensure all actions and improvements are acted on within required timeframes.
• Ensure all services follow correct safeguarding and risk management protocols and procedures.
• Undertake fact finding and any external/internal investigations, ensuring they are in line with organisational policy, as well as associated formal hearings.

Financial Management

• Budget Management: Promote and manage effective cost control mechanisms, management of the overall budget for the given operational group, work collaboratively with other teams to set the service budgets, review monthly accounts, and ensure effective management of the areas budget and reporting. 
• Lead on the annual review of contracts with commissioners and/or other relevant stakeholders internally and externally to ensure the service budgets are adequate to meet the needs of the contracts and any associated risk.
• Have overall oversight over the operational group, approve budget items and costs, ensure headcount is well managed and within budget, and make any adaptations if necessary.

You will be responsible for managing the quality and delivery of services to women who have experienced domestic violence and abuse from crisis to step down and recovery. The portfolio includes management of Advance’s wide-ranging services in Brent and Ealing including IDVA provision, MARAC co-ordination and specialist co-located projects. In addition, you will support with development, implementation and management of new services in Brent, Ealing and beyond, as required.

What you will bring:

The successful candidate will bring a passion for the women’s sector and a dynamic, can do attitude. You will be an exceptional relationship builder with a proven track record of leadership in providing services to women experiencing violence against women and girls (VAWG) and working with partners and funders. You will be an inspirational leader, responsible for recruiting, developing and managing a team including first tier managers and their teams and will be responsible for coordinating, reporting, and the delivery of the related services as commissioned by the boroughs and other funders.

In short you will have:

• A relevant qualification or equivalent experience (e.g. management and leadership) with a particular focus on the women’s sector/community and voluntary sector
• Significant experience, likely to have been gained over several years, of strategic planning and operational management at a service manager level and developing and delivering services at senior service management level.
• Strong negotiating skills and the ability to build strong and effective relationships and partnerships, dealing with ambiguity and resolving conflict effectively, achieving the right outcomes for the organisation, collaborating and networking.
• Significant experience of work with women and/or children with a complex range of needs, risk assessing, needs assessing and safety and support planning.
• Experience of developing relationships with funders/commissioners and achieving required outcomes.

About this role

The Bookkeeper is a new role at Pembroke House. You will work closely with the Director of Finance to form a team of two managing the financial activities of the charity (turnover approx £1 million). Main Duties

PURCHASE LEDGER

• Maintain the Purchase Ledger on online accounting software (Sage 50).

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as an Outreach Worker supporting individuals who are homeless with complex needs and have been excluded from services.

Richmond Fellowship works as part of the Bridge the Gap Alliance within a well-established, multidisciplinary team set up to meet the needs of homeless people based in East Surrey. We provide support to clients with interventions through specialist workers including Mental Health, Substance Misuse, Community Inclusion, Homelessness, Crisis Prevention, Social Work, and financial support.

We are currently seeking an Outreach Worker who will be responsible for engaging with individuals with multiple and complex needs and working alongside internal & external agencies. You will support people through their journeys into statutory and voluntary services. The post holder will be expected to navigate local service provision, building strong relationships with a range of different professionals whilst advocating on the client’s behalf.

We will work with local partners to co-ordinate the care of clients to influence change in the way that organisations provide services to individuals facing multiple needs and exclusions. Black Thrive Global (BTG) evolved from the work of the Black Thrive Lambeth Partnership, which was established in 2016. We exist to address the inequalities that negatively impact the mental health and wellbeing of Black people so that the thriving of Black communities is the norm.

As a Housing Domestic Abuse Advocate, you will provide intervention, advocacy, and support to survivors of domestic abuse. Working within a fast-paced team, you will help empower women and ensure that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. You will have your own caseload of survivors who hold social tenancies with local authorities or housing associations, and you will encourage them to engage with our service and ensure they have access to support. You will bring solid experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse in all its forms; coming from a sector with transferrable skills or possess a feminist/VAWG degree and be keen to learn and to train on the job. You will have a good understanding of violence against women and girls with a particular focus on the dynamics of domestic abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families, and communities. You will have proven skills and experience in conducting comprehensive assessments of needs and risk for survivors experiencing domestic abuse, including carrying out short risk management and safety planning. We will expect that you have experience in assessing the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have and an understanding of the criminal justice system and relevant legislation with regard to legal and civil options, housing, benefits, matrimonial and children. Lastly you will bring your knowledge of safeguarding practice, procedures, and legislation.
