About us
Who we are
About 70,000 adults and children in the UK have Polycystic Kidney Disease or PKD - life-threatening inherited conditions that can cause renal (kidney) failure and affect other organs in the body. Over 12 million children and adults worldwide have PKD. We support those affected, their families and carers, with information, help and understanding. We raise awareness and fund research into the causes of PKD, with the hope of discovering treatments and a cure.
We're a small friendly charity, led and staffed mainly by people affected by PKD. We know what's it like to live with a lifelong, incurable condition that also has affected many of our relatives. Our vision is that future generations won't have to suffer as many of us and our supporters have.
