Work Environment:

The role
Starting between £55,000 to £60,000 per annum depending on experience

About you

Our location
We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail.
We have a hybrid approach to the way we work. Our Senior Executive Team meet with our Senior Leadership Team twice a month on a Monday. These meetings are face to face. One is in central London and one is at our Hatfield office. In addition, you will be required to attend at least four face to face organisational All Staff Together days which are predominantly in Hatfield, one directorate meeting a month in Hatfield, as well as attending the Hatfield office with the rest of the HR team one day a week. One to one’s will be face to face with direct line reports and your line manager once a quarter.

Additional Information
We ask all members of Age UK's Partnerships and Philanthropy department to work from our London office at least once a week to enable collaboration, skills development and team dynamics (currently Thursdays).
From time to time, we may also require the successful candidate to come into our London office for face-to-face meetings with funders and colleagues at other times in the week: as per the terms of our hybrid contracts we aim to give seven days' notice when this happens.

About the role

We have developed a reputation for best practice public dialogue, deliberation and capacity building. As Head of Programmes, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing the quality, delivery and impact of all our capacity-building programmes. You will be key in managing our stakeholder relationships, including our pool of Associates, grant funders and consultancy clients. You will be responsible for stewarding and developing our existing training offer securing an annual trading income of up to £140k and a grant income of £300k (60% of which is already secured for 25/26 with more in the pipeline).
You will need commercial nous, grant fundraising expertise, the ability to develop and manage programmes, and the confidence to influence and support clients and donors. Using your knowledge of change and strategy, you will develop creative and agile programmes and ensure they are continuously being improved in a fast-changing field. You will be intellectually curious and follow campaign trends supporting campaigners to thrive and get results.

As Grant Programme Manager, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of our grant-funded capacity-building programmes and organising and collating the monitoring, learning and evaluation required for our reporting and programme development. You will also work closely with the Head of Programmes to support the writing of new grant applications to Trusts and Foundations.
Creative and organised, you will have the ability to bring agreed project outcomes to life and enthuse activists from a range of backgrounds. You will be able to build strong partnerships with funders and create buy-in for our organisation’s strategic ambitions. You will be intellectually curious, responsive to feedback and follow campaign trends supporting campaigners to thrive and get results.

The Estate Officer will ensure the delivery of the regional maintenance programme, comprising routine, periodic, planned and urgent works, and the delivery of time limited maintenance consultancy and estate management projects. Working alongside the Conservation Projects Manager, the post holder will ensure regional estate compliance with CCT policies.
The post holder will be the main contact for all maintenance related matters and will maintain the property management records for the estate, develop volunteer projects and training on maintenance reporting and conservation cleaning and will assist with fundraising.

About the role:
On the back of continued growth due to successful fundraising performance over the last 5 years, we are ready to take the next step in our fundraising strategy and launch a Philanthropy Giving programme. You will bring expertise and skills in this field to support the fundraising team and build on the already strong stewardship and engagement we have with key individuals.
An experienced fundraiser or business development professional, you will relish the opportunity to own and launch the strategy and implement a long-term engagement plan to strengthen High Value relationships that will deliver a new and sustainable income stream.
The role is new and on an initial fixed term contract of 12 months but with the potential to make the role permanent if the strategy succeeds.
Salary: £35,000-£40,000 per annum 0.8 FTE
About you:
You're likely to be a seasoned philanthropy professional, ideally with a track record securing gifts.
You will be comfortable in working closely with a Senior Leadership team and Board.
With an understanding of philanthropy and what makes major donors tick, you will also have the appetite and aptitude to develop new relationships from scratch.
The role will be a good mix of stewarding existing relationships and building brand-new ones. Therefore, you will need to be comfortable and confident researching and developing new contacts, harnessing the potential of existing networks and working closely with the wider organisation.
A key part to the role will be to deliver engagement activities, therefore event planning and project management skills are important.
