This is a highly rewarding role for an experienced Family Support Coordinator to provide support to the families and loved ones of people affected by addiction as part of our successful Families Living in Recovery Project. You will establish professional, supportive relationships with the families of those in recovery through a range of 121 and group interventions to create opportunities for purposeful and sustained support.

Taking a whole family approach, you will also build and establish strong links with our partner agencies including The Living Room and Relate. Sessions will be delivered in person from the Living Room centers in Watford, St Albans and Stevenage and online.

You will need to be educated to NVQ Level 3 or above in social work, health, education, or equivalent.

Main Responsibilities:

• Events: Plan and deliver our corporate Thank You event in Autumn 2025 and support a calendar of Challenge events including small internal and community events run by different teams.

Key Requirements (specific skills, qualifications required):

• Confident using digital tools including Microsoft Office, and able to update websites (e.g. WordPress, and using tools like Eventbrite, Mailchimp or Canva)
• Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills - able to build rapport with a wide range of people
• Team player with a flexible and collaborative approach

Desirable knowledge/expertise

• Working or volunteering in a charity or community organisation

Salary and benefits package

Starting salary: £37,620 (outside of London, with a £3k annual travel bursary)/£42,135 (inside London) 

Holiday: 25 days/year (pro rata to 20 days per year due to the 4 day week), plus bank holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year.

Role Summary

The Challenge Events Officer will work closely with the Senior Community and Challenge Events Manager (SCCEM) and Engagement Assistant (EA) to deliver significant elements of the charity’s fundraising strategy, in particular our challenge events. The post holder will be responsible for recruitment, management and stewardship of our existing challenge event portfolio to increase income in an area which has seen significant growth.

We are looking for an experienced corporate governance professional to provide effective governance and assurance at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. This is a unique opportunity to utilise and develop your skills in an organisation with multifaceted governance – charity, public body, company subsidiaries – working in a small friendly team which supports the Director of Kew, Kew’s senior management team and boards and committees. Our successful candidate will have a strong track record in corporate governance in the public and/or charity sector, experience in managing internal audit and assurance activities and in writing and embedding policies. They will be highly organised with excellent written and verbal communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, adept at managing a varied workload and confident working with senior stakeholders.

As a Family Support Coordinator, you will work closely with families, schools and local agencies in Hayes to provide essential support, programmes and resources that empower young people and helps to create a safe and nurturing environment that fosters resilience, positive choices and promotes family wellbeing.

A key part of your responsibilities will involve establishing a peer support programme - you will recruit, train and support volunteers from the local community, enabling them to offer critical support to families and young people at risk.
