Lambeth Palace Library is the historic library of the Archbishops of Canterbury and preserves the national archives of the Church of England. Our mission is to promote public access to our collection by welcoming researchers and through public engagement, such as outreach and cultural and academic partnerships.

The vision of Lambeth Palace Library is to collect, preserve and make accessible the memory of the Church of England so that its cultural and religious history can be explored and enjoyed by all.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The purpose of this role is to support the vision and mission of the Library by delivering key aspects of the Library's imaging service as well as key aspects of the Library's outreach activities and to contribute to planning future developments in the Library's digital offering.

Core Responsibilities

1. Engaging with our readers and researchers to promote the use of the collections, by providing high-quality copies of archival, manuscript and printed material in digital format, for members of the public as well as staff of the National Church Institutions.
2. Creating digital images for online resources, exhibitions and other forms of outreach, and digital surrogates for preservation purposes
3. Providing digital copies in accordance with the copyright law and advising customers on copyright issues; processing requests for permission to use Library images.
4. Maintaining the digital image bank, systematically storing new images with standard metadata and uploading items and volumes to LUNA image software, according to agreed procedures.

Key Role Requirements

• This is an office-based role, with the expectation of working from the office a minimum of 4 days a week.

Responsibilities of our Community Fundraising Officer:

Power2 is a fast growing and energetic children and young people’s charity that has supported 25,000 young people since 2001.  We are based in the North West of England and London and deliver early-intervention asset-based programmes to children and young people who have mental wellbeing challenges and are disengaged from school and more widely. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial management

● Lead the setting, tracking and reporting of budgets and fundraising targets

● Maintain accurate records of income and expenditure on a cash and accrual basis

● Manage bookkeeping for the charity, including invoicing and bank reconciliations

● Keep accurate records of funding allocations, especially restricted and unrestricted income

● Work with our accountant to produce end-of-year accounts and prepare for audit

The London Diocesan Fund (LDF) is seeking a PA to the Archdeacon of Northolt and Willesden Area Administrator to play a key role within the Willesden team, based from Causton Street. 

Job Summary 

The purpose of the PA role is to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Archdeacon of Northolt in the Willesden area, ensuring efficient handling of communications, management of her diary, and maintenance of records. This includes coordinating travel arrangements, organising meetings, compiling communications materials, and managing various financial tasks. Additionally, the PA plays a vital role in upholding confidentiality, being a source of support in the making of difficult decisions and assisting with safeguarding. The PA carries a vital role in linking Clergy, Church Wardens, and others to the support available to them in the Diocesan office and helping them feel supported and heard when they contact the Archdeacons office for help.

The Willesden Area Administrator is a member of the Area staff responsible for the efficient and effective running of the office. (s)he has strong links to the Bishops office, other members of the Archdeaconry Team, the Area Director of Ministry and his PA, other Area Staff, people in the parishes especially Church Wardens and church administrators, as well as key external stakeholders such as local authorities, businesses, architects and partner organisations. 

Job responsibilities 

Administrative 

• Proactive management of mail, enquiries, telephone calls, e-mail, using initiative when referring upwards and flagging issues with the Archdeacon 

• Diary management – forward planning of events and specific projects and day-to-day management of the Archdeaconry diaries. 

• Preparing agendas, support papers and taking minutes for meetings. 

• Draft letters and documents as requested.

• Arranging visits in connection with ongoing works 

• Liaising with both architects and parishes for Quinquennial Inspections

QuarterFive are delighted to be partnering with The Orpheus Centre, which supports young disabled adults to live and work as independently as they are able. They do this through developing their confidence and independent living skills, using arts-based, bespoke learning, work experience and supported living programmes delivered from their base in Surrey. All of their learners are learning disabled and some are also physically disabled.

The Orpheus Centre is located at a beautiful converted farm that provides teaching and performance spaces and self-contained accommodation. However, their success in enabling these young people to thrive means that they are over subscribed every year and have outgrown the current facilities.

The capital appeal will convert a building next to the Centre to allow for more learners to enrol, in particular more learners with more complex needs. Currently, the quiet phase is projected for 2024-2027, with the build phase being projected for 2027-2029.

The Head of Capital Appeal will sit on the SMT, reporting to the CEO, and be responsible for leading a small team of fundraisers also dedicated to raising funds for the build. While there will be a team to support, the Head of Capital Appeal will spend most of their time personally fundraising as well. There are existing opportunities, including a well-connected President (also the Founder), a Capital Appeal Committee which will be set up, and an existing pool of donors. A focus on new business, however, will also be crucial for the success of the project.

As Head of Capital Appeal, you will: 

• Develop, implement and monitor the private and public phases of the capital appeal strategy to enable the Orpheus Centre to meet the appeal target
• Establish a high performing capital appeal committee of volunteers to cultivate and steward potential significant donors
• Deliver target income from a range of sources, primarily major donors, trusts and foundations and statutory sources, but not discounting other viable income streams
• Personally secure significant major gifts for the capital project
• Design, recruit and lead a team of fundraisers to support on fundraising for the capital project
• Research and identify potential funders for the capital project
• Work closely with the build project team, to ensure clear communication between the funding and the building of the project
• Provide timely reports for Senior Management Team and Trustees to facilitate effective cash flow management and decision making

Ideal skills and experience:

• Significant experience in a senior high value fundraising role
• Demonstrable experience of securing 5- and 6-figure major gifts
• Extensive track record in working with trusts, major donors and statutory funders
• Experience of line managing teams of fundraisers
• Ability to adapt to different audiences, including donors, senior volunteers, team members, learners and all colleagues in the wider organisation

Purpose: you will be the key resource within a small fundraising team, with responsibility for applying and securing funding to cover our core costs, as well as grant applications for specific community activities and building projects. As the only paid member of this team, you will take the lead in researching, applying for, and reporting on grant application progress with charitable trusts and other potential funders, in line with our fundraising strategy. You will also be a member of our Operations Team, which meets weekly to oversee the day-to-day efficient running of The Hub.

Contract: 2-year contract initially, subject to successful completion of a 4-month probationary period.  

Hours: 8-12 hours per week, to be agreed upon appointment. Within reason, we are flexible about when these hours are worked throughout the week, although we would expect the successful candidate to regularly attend the weekly Operations Team meetings on Tuesdays, in person.

Background:

The Leatherhead Community Hub (LCH) was established in July 2020, as a dedicated community centre in North Leatherhead. LCH provides opportunities for people to come together socially and build community, as well as giving our partner organisations a permanent base from which to offer critical support and services to local residents, including the local Foodbank and Community Fridge. Our mission is to create a safe, welcoming space at the heart of the community, where people of all ages can connect, learn, have fun, and find the support they need to thrive. The Hub attracts around 3,000 visitors a month to our café and the many other community activities and events run by LCH, our partners and other local groups.

LCH has a yearly budgeted turnover of over £200,000 (2024/25), excluding funds raised for a major building project. Just over a half of this amount is from the café & tenant rental income, and the remainder is from grants & fundraising activities (including a 3-year grant from the National Lottery).

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Researching potential funding opportunities, with a particular focus on charitable trusts and local authority grant schemes. (Other members of the fundraising team will take the lead in fundraising from local businesses, schools, and churches).
• Submitting a regular flow of small and larger grant applications to meet core costs and match other identified funding needs, with support from the rest of the fundraising team.
• Attending monthly meetings with the fundraising team, including setting the agenda and updating the rest of the team on progress towards our fundraising targets.
• Maintaining a database of past, current and prospective grant applications, as well as digital copies of all grant applications, award letters, etc.
• Monitoring and fulfilling the reporting requirements of successful grant applications, ensuring that we are collecting information on outputs/outcomes set out by funders.
• Attending weekly meetings of the Operations Team, to keep in touch with what is going on at the Hub and identify future funding priorities.

Family Action & the Role’s Impact:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Project Indigo, an LGBTQIA+ youth project run out of Off Centre at Family Action that fosters a safe space and sense of community amongst LGBTQIA+ young people in Hackney.  We support young people aged 16 to 25 through offering them a weekly facilitated social space and 1-to-1 support and advice sessions.  Having run for almost a decade, Project Indigo is well known in Hackney, and works alongside local LGBTQIA+ projects, as well as mental health and youth services.  Project Indigo maintains a youth-led and person-centred approach, with this role being developed in consultation with our members to address the barriers they face in accessing training and development opportunities.

We are seeking a Peer Mentoring Coordinator to develop and manage our new LGBTQIA+ Peer Mentoring Programme, training and supporting Project Indigo members to train as mentors and deliver mentoring sessions with younger LGBTQIA+ people in the local community.  You will enrich Project Indigo’s holistic offer by providing young people with the opportunity to access training, qualifications and work experience while receiving high quality support tailored to their needs.

Off Centre is a service that provides a range of targeted mental health focused support services to young people aged 16 to 25 who registered with a City and Hackney GP.  These include: individual, counselling and psychotherapy, individual and group art psychotherapy, key-work support, out of hours drop-in service on Thursday evenings, targeted provision for children and young people of African, Caribbean and mixed heritage (ACH), and an Information and Advice provision.

Main Responsibilities:

· You will develop and lead Project Indigo’s new Peer Mentoring Programme.

· You will understand young mentors’ needs and goals, and provide high quality supervisory support throughout the training and mentoring process.

· You will develop a structure for the Mentoring programme, consulting with relevant organisations, finding appropriate partners, and keeping accurate records to monitor progress for administrative and evaluative purposes.

· You will offer sensitive supervisory support to young LGBTQIA+ mentors, supporting their diverse need by maintaining an empathetic, intersectional and youth-led approach.
