The Role
The Live Music Coordinator will facilitate the delivery of live music experiences across the North of England, improving the health and wellbeing of children and adults through the healing power of live music.
You will work with professional musicians to share live music with people who may not otherwise get to experience it, organising programmes with partner organisations, in line with the organisation’s strategy and operational plan.
You will also support the delivery of the annual programme of live music experiences communicating with hospitals, hospices, care homes and the community. This includes those living with dementia, who have mental health problems, or who are seriously ill.

The External Affairs Officer will provide essential support across the organisation by identifying key stakeholders and determining the most effective tactics to build and maintain relationships in both politics and government. This includes monitoring parliamentary and political developments to spot opportunities, drafting high-quality briefings, articles and press releases, as well as coordinating politically-focused events, such as those held at party conferences.

We seek an experienced, hands-on and strategic Head of Finance to build and lead Global Dialogue’s finance function, ensuring efficient and compliant management of our finances, while helping to shape robust and effective systems and processes to ensure our work is delivered to the highest standards of good practice in the charity sector.
Hours: This role is full-time (35 hours/week) although we’d be happy to discuss an appointment at 80% (28 hours/week). We are open to negotiating a working pattern that works for the successful candidate and for Global Dialogue.

Salary: This role has been benchmarked at a UK salary of £67,000 (pro rata for a part-time position).

Overview
To date, Global Dialogue’s finances has been overseen by an external accountancy firm. Over the last eighteen months, we have been working towards bringing our finance function in house. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced accountant to take the reins and complete the development and roll out of our internal finance function.
The Head of Finance is a new role within the organisation that is both strategic and handson. In the first phase, the postholder will be required to roll up their sleeves and, with the support of Global Dialogue’s Finance Officer, get stuck into the detail of financial administration, including overseeing twice monthly pay runs, monthly and quarterly closes, and other day-to-day financial management tasks. Alongside this, the role will lead on bringing the finance function fully in house, eventually taking on full responsibility for the preparation of management and statutory accounts, cashflow and FX management, and budgeting and forecasting processes. This role will play a key coaching role for the Finance Officer, with a view to eventually delegating all bookkeeping tasks. The postholder will also be responsible for ensuring finance systems are innovative, robust and fit for purpose, and will be a business partner to our hosted programmes, providing advice on compliance and strategic matters.
Global Dialogue’s role as an international fiscal host means that we have a complex financial model, receive income from diverse streams and manage a high number of restricted funds. Our programmes lead cutting edge work, which means that our work is varied and fastpaced, requiring frequent innovation. At The Cancer Treatment and Research Trust, our mission is to enable our consultants and scientists to translate laboratory research into clinical trials and new life-saving treatments.
Each year we fund studies into a wide variety of cancers which include ovarian, lung, urological & melanoma. We are also the only charity in the UK funding research into Gestational Trophoblastic Disease, a rare cancer that occurs during or after pregnancy.
About the Role
The successful candidate will oversee the day to management of the charity, ensure effective fundraising activity, provide support for the Board of Trustees and facilitate the smooth running of the charity. As part of this you will ensure the accounts are prepared in a timely way with the assistance of our book keeper and accountants. You will also work with our web-designer to ensure the website is kept up to date and the annual charity report and return are prepared and submitted on-time.
You will oversee all fundraising activity including maintaining existing campaigns and our CRM system, and provide excellent stewardship to supporters, responding to enquiries, thanking them in a timely manner and supporting supporters with their fundraising activities. We are looking for a part time Information & Advocacy Community Support Worker in Scotland. You will be home based living in the North of Scotland.
You will ensure that service users (children and adults) and their families, receive high quality support, from the point of diagnosis and throughout their journey, and will assist them to access funding, equipment and care and support that they are entitled to. You will join a team that makes a real difference to the lives of the people living with muscle-wasting conditions, and their families, in Scotland. The role will be primarily home based, but there will also be a requirement to attend outpatient clinics within the region, attend home visits where appropriate and to support responding to queries through the helpline and information inbox. Some travel will be required to attend meetings and events outside of Scotland. You will work with both statutory and voluntary organisations, clinicians, and health and social care professionals to ensure that people living with muscle wasting conditions get the care and support they need to live well and independently.
