The role

This is an exciting time to join Greenwich Hospital as we work through a significant change agenda.   With responsibility for supporting the Director of Greenwich Hospital (DGH) and the Senior Leadership team, as well as providing other business support, this is a varied and rewarding role.  You’ll be working closely with other team members to ensure a positive, joined-up and dynamic working environment representing the office of the DGH externally with a wide variety of stakeholders within the Royal Navy, Ministry of Defence and the Naval charity sector.  This is a key role within the Greenwich Hospital team and an opportunity to significantly contribute to our work.

Training Administrator

Qualifications

• A standard pass or above in both Mathematics and English at GCSE level;
• Two A levels or a vocational qualification at level three; or
• Have gained an equivalent level of learning through work experience.

Experience

• Significant experience in an administrative role, preferably in a client/customer-facing environment, and ideally in a training, education, or membership setting.
• Knowledge of higher education or professional healthcare training, in relation to psychotherapy or counselling, desirable.
• Experience of working with an invoice processing system desirable but not essential.
• Experience of working with learning management systems (LMS) like Moodle, Mentimeter is desirable but not necessary.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ease and experience working in a client focused /customer service environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to compose communications to a wide range of professionals, and to take accurate minutes.

About the role:

The Advancement Operations team are currently looking for a new Database Assistant to provide essential database support for the team and particularly for the maintenance and updating of accurate Membership gifts and records.

The Database Assistant will support the Data Manager: Membership in working to a schedule of activity to provide stakeholders with accurate data. This role will also liaise with the Database Manager and the Membership Services team on a regular basis to discuss and investigate data issues. The integrity of the fundraising database is essential to providing excellent donor care and supporting the donor journey.

Key areas of responsibility:

• To maintain and update confidential data accurately on the Raiser's Edge fundraising database. A significant amount of data entry work is required.
• To assist the Data Manager: Membership in the process of Membership renewals and the management of Membership Direct Debits, which includes reconciling data from an external service provider against Raiser's Edge, adjusting records, cleaning and spotting exceptions.
• To be responsible for data integrity in Raiser's Edge and help maintain data documentation, especially in relation to Membership, donor and prospect data.
• To assist the Data Manager and the Gifts and Planning team in the processing of donations such as cheque or card payments.

About you:

• Educated to GCSE level, or above.
• Strong IT skills with a good understanding of databases and a prior experience of using spreadsheets or data entry.

People & Culture Advisor

GENERAL FUNCTION: 

The People and Culture Advisor will be instrumental in delivering efficient, timely and effective HR support and advice to employees, managers and leadership throughout the company. The role will be crucial in ensuring consistent and effective application of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives, thus having a positive contribution to a productive workplace.

General People & Culture Support:

· Acting as the primary point of contact for all IEU staff enquiries regarding policies, procedures, staff benefit, leave balances, and other general queries. 

· Supporting implementation of key P&C projects and facilitating ongoing process improvements.

· Support employee engagement initiatives, including recurring surveys and engagement sessions.

· Recommending new approaches, processes and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the People & Culture department and services performed.

· Remaining abreast of changes to UK specific legislation and Employment Law and communicating relevant changes to UK based staff in a timely manner. 

· Partnering with People & Culture Manager to deliver relevant training, ‘AMA’ sessions, and other initiatives as required.

· Coordinating P&C responses on behalf of IEU to internal and external audit requests.

· Supporting process and workflow development and data management within the Human Resources’ Information System as needed.

· Ensuring timely update of relevant databases, including group life cover, SMS Home Office system, and others

· Supporting, developing, and conducting staff trainings on People & Culture topics, policies, and processes

· Working closely with other members of the global People & Culture team to ensure the completion of standardized, efficient, streamlined People & Culture processes that supports a cohesive staff experience.

Employee Relations

· Providing first-level advice to employees, managers and leadership in line with UK employment law, best practice, internal policies and procedures and ACAS guidelines.

· Managing casework including, but not limited to: disciplinaries, grievances, absence reviews, flexible working requests, conflict resolution, redundancies, departmental changes, occupational health queries, performance improvement plans, etc.

· Producing and maintaining casework documentation, including Terms of Reference, minutes, notices, and follow-up correspondence.

· Escalating complex and/or unusual casework to People & Culture Manager.

· Providing coaching for managers on employee relations issues as requested.

· Ensuring all company policies remain up to date, periodically reviewing policies in order to implement relevant changes.

· Advising managers and leadership on the most appropriate casework steps, providing sound reasoning behind suggested options and clearly outlining potential risks.

· Maintain good working relations with all stakeholders, ensuring a discreet, diplomatic approach to Employee Relations issues as they arise.

· Maintaining excellent level of knowledge of current, recent and upcoming developments in UK employment law at a HR practitioner level.

· Managing all employee leave processes, including annual leave, sickness absence, maternity, paternity, adoption, TOIL, compassionate leave, etc.

· Escalating complex and/or unusual cases to People & Culture Manager

· Conducting exit interviews, identifying patterns and communicating to management in an aggregate form

· Producing periodic reports surrounding volume and nature of casework.

Payroll

· Processing timely updates of the payroll system records, including new joiners, leavers, student loan and salary sacrifice information and all variable changes.

· Ensuring all associated processes have been carried out in line with the supplier agreement and in good time.

· Serving as a liaison between the third-party payroll provider, P&C and Finance functions

· Producing all payroll related documentation including LoE changes, pay increases, maternity leave letters, deduction letters and other change letters as required.

· Generating a monthly pension report and timely uploading to the pension provider portal.

· Addressing all employee payroll and pay related enquiries.

QUALIFICATIONS

About the Role

As a Support Worker in a Semi-Independent Home, you will have the opportunity of developing authentic relationships with our young people (aged 16 – 21 years old), you will also have responsibility for making sure our residents are safe, providing support, liaison with other professionals and completion of support documents to record information. OVERVIEW

We currently have a small fundraising team that has been together since April 2023, consisting of a Partnerships Manager, a Trusts and Foundations Manager and an Events Co-ordinator. The new Interim Head of Fundraising will lead this team, including our Communications and Marketing Manager.

Our desire is not just to bring a person on board who will lead the team from behind the lines, but someone who will take full ownership of the fundraising targets and be the visible lead fundraiser of the charity.

• Lead on the execution of the new three-year fundraising strategy aligned with the charity’s mission and goals.

Reporting, Monitoring & Budgeting

• Report as required on all activity and progress to the Senior Management Team, (trustees) and Board of Trustees and its Fundraising Sub-committee.
• Monitor and manage expenditure related to fundraising activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to budgetary constraints.
• Lead on development and upkeep of pipeline processes, ensuring high quality and live information is available across the fundraising team and finance functions.

ABOUT YOU

Your Key Strengths:

• Be a highly experienced and proven fundraiser, with at least five years of UK based charity fundraising experience.
• Have exceptional interpersonal skills - comfortable speaking with senior business leaders, decision makers and High Net Worth individuals…. And comfortable making ‘the ask’!
• Maintain high levels of discretion and tact; able to maintain confidentiality.
• Be personable yet decisive and confident, capable of working with and inspiring colleagues and volunteers.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

• This is an interim role, for 12 months from January 2025.
• The salary is £50,000 - £55,000 depending on experience.
• You will get 25 days annual leave per year plus UK National Holidays. Also, we give any normal working days between Christmas and New Year as additional holidays.

This role will be focused on our campaign strand around the crisis in young people’s mental health, focused on the role that late-stage capitalism is having on both the drivers of poor mental health, mental illness, and madness, and the ineffective responses to this crisis.

The role has two distinct parts: providing administrative support that facilitates the work of the Senior Youth Mental Health Organiser; and identifying and developing the leadership of young people directly affected by these health injustices and their families, building trusting relationships that ensure they are able to shape the strategy and lead the campaigns that win tangible improvements in the mental health and wellbeing of the people we are campaigning with and for.

You will work with key external allies to coordinate and multiply our campaigns, and ensure there are meaningful actions volunteers and supporters can do to further our campaign goals . Learning Disability Caseworker

Mencap are recruiting for a 2 x Learning Disability Caseworker's (LDC) to give advice and undertake complex casework on Social/Community Care and Health concerns for people with a learning disability, their families, carers, and professionals working with them. The Learning Disability Caseworker role can be based with where you want to work, with some travel to casework venues and our Peterborough office. 

We have a full-time role (37.5 hours) on a fixed term contract until March 2026, and a part time (30 hours) role on a fixed term contract until September 2027.
