The Role
As CEO, you will lead our dedicated team, oversee the delivery of our strategic goals, and act as the public face of the charity. You will work directly with the Board of Trustees, the clinical community, and key partners to shape the future of the AAT. About the role.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading the Major Donor, Corporate, and Trusts & Foundations fundraising function. You’ll manage a team of three, with two direct line reports: the Corporate Partnerships Manager and the Trust & Foundation Manager.

Overview
To date, Global Dialogue’s finances has been overseen by an external accountancy firm. Over the last eighteen months, we have been working towards bringing our finance function in house. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced accountant to take the reins and complete the development and roll out of our internal finance function.
The Head of Finance is a new role within the organisation that is both strategic and handson. In the first phase, the postholder will be required to roll up their sleeves and, with the support of Global Dialogue’s Finance Officer, get stuck into the detail of financial administration, including overseeing twice monthly pay runs, monthly and quarterly closes, and other day-to-day financial management tasks. Alongside this, the role will lead on bringing the finance function fully in house, eventually taking on full responsibility for the preparation of management and statutory accounts, cashflow and FX management, and budgeting and forecasting processes. This role will play a key coaching role for the Finance Officer, with a view to eventually delegating all bookkeeping tasks. The postholder will also be responsible for ensuring finance systems are innovative, robust and fit for purpose, and will be a business partner to our hosted programmes, providing advice on compliance and strategic matters.

We are looking for someone to join us as our HR Officer and who wants a flexible HR role. Although this role reports to the HR Manager, the HR Manager’s role is significantly part-time and whilst they will provide support and direction, day-to-day activities will be carried out by the HR Officer. - Have previous experience in a sales or fundraising acquisition role

As a result of our investment new Community Fundraiser positions have been created to support the growing numbers of supporters, groups and local business opportunities.
As a Community Fundraiser, with expert relationship building skills, you’ll be responsible for engaging with current and potential new supporters within this area to generate leads to raise funds for the charity.

This position is home based and you will be required to travel across the East of Scotland and the Highlands.
What you’ll do:

Develop and deliver ambitious local fundraising plans and budgets to maximise local support, provide exceptional stewardship and achieve financial targets in line with the community fundraising strategy.

Actively support, motivate and manage a portfolio of individual supporters to fundraise for Parkinson’s UK, ensuring opportunities realise their full potential and key supporters are retained.

Lead on the development and delivery of a portfolio of fundraising activities such as local delivery of the Walk for Parkinson’s event series.

Lead in developing all streams of local fundraising in allocated areas, including community support, local corporate activity and collaborating with central teams.
What you’ll bring:

Science Policy Advisor
Position Objective:
To lead policy and research projects related to animal testing to support PETA’s advocacy for ending the use of animals in experiments

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
In consultation and verified compliance with the objectives, standards, and requirements of PETA, PETA France, PETA US, and PETA Science Consortium International e.V, the successful candidate will undertake the following:
- Independently research and interpret a variety of scientific, political, policy-driven, and other issues related to animal testing in order to further PETA’s goals
- Build networks and coordinate meetings with key policymakers and other stakeholders
- Write factsheets, white papers, reports, correspondence, and other literature
- Build relationships and maintain communication with key audiences, particularly decision-makers in the legislative and administrative arenas
- Lead meetings with parliamentarians, companies, and legislators and present at conferences
- Develop expertise in non-animal testing methods and draw upon the expertise of others
- Respond to correspondence regarding issues related to animal testing
- Conduct analyses of technical papers and legislation and translate scientific and legal terminology into lay terms for use in research projects
- Identify opportunities to provide public comments that promote non-animal testing approaches and lead the writing and presentation of these comments
- Represent PETA at public-speaking engagements, in debates, to the media, and to the general public
- Communicate PETA’s philosophy to the public
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Degree in a related field – a master’s and/or PhD is preferred
- Experience working at a relevant organisation or institute, such as an animal protection organisation, the civil service, a regulatory agency, or a biotechnology, chemical, pharmaceutical, or medical device company, is desirable
- Demonstrable experience of the functioning of Parliament
- Familiarity with the use of animals in laboratories, associated legislation, and alternatives to animal testing
- Proven ability to maintain awareness of relevant political, social, and economic developments
- Proven ability to brief colleagues and other relevant stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to conduct in-depth research
- Proven excellent writing and research skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proven attention to detail, exceptional organisational skills, and ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Proven ability to make sound, independent judgements
