Location: Hybrid/Peterborough PE1 2QT
Time commitment: 2 – 3 days per month
About Jumped Up Theatre
Jumped Up Theatre creates opportunities for people to make, enjoy, and celebrate culture. As an arts organisation, the direct and positive impact we have on the people of Peterborough and the surrounding areas is central to our mission. We are a catalyst for change in Peterborough, using performing arts and engagement activities to meet people where they are at.
Since 1993, we have been producing events with audiences at the heart of our work. Our events, performances and opportunities strive to engage and empower the communities we work with.
Bringing together artists who are curious about our audiences and their stories, activists who want to make change happen, and anyone who shares their passion for creating.
Our programming and co-creation models provide a platform for new stories and experiences. Through participatory experiences, live events, and a community-led focus, we curate programmes that ensure touring shows become meaningful to local communities. We connect participants and artists in a spirit of co-creation, support pathways of audience engagement and artist development, and raise the expectation of what the arts can be in Peterborough.
We originate projects through community consultation, build understanding by identifying grassroots needs, and introduce excellence into process and production. We focus on those who aren’t served by the city’s infrastructure.

As such, we welcome candidates who either live or work within the Liverpool city region, as well as those who can clearly demonstrate their knowledge of our local area, the challenges we face and the opportunities we may seize. This understanding will be a valuable trait as we seek to appoint a candidate who is comfortable in engaging with our local stakeholders as an ambassador for the college, helping us to influence local decision-makers and ensuring that the actions we take are always in the best interest of our students – both now and in the future.
Finally, the golden thread that runs throughout our college is our culture which is underpinned by our values. As the leader of our board, you will play a key role in ensuring that we remain an inclusive, welcoming and vibrant organisation. As such, we welcome applications from candidates who will be able to help us to continue to shape this positive culture, but who will also stretch and challenge our thinking in this regard.

All pain is unpleasant, but for the 7.8 million people in the UK living with long-term pain it is a part of everyday life. It diminishes quality of life more than any other condition, leading often to loss of work, depression and disability. Anyone at any age can develop persistent pain and you will very probably know somebody affected. Although there is usually no cure, people who receive the appropriate treatment, information and support can manage their condition effectively with life-changing results.
