About us
Who we are
The British Liver Trust is the leading UK charity for liver health. An estimated 20% of the population has undiagnosed liver damage and the country is facing a liver health crisis, with late diagnosis and lack of awareness leading to increasing illness and death from liver disease and liver cancer. There are many different causes of liver disease and liver cancer, and we work to increase awareness and understanding, as well as create long term improvements in diagnosis, treatment and care.
In April 2024, the British Liver Trust and Children's Liver Disease Foundation merged, with the aim to reach more people in need and become a more powerful voice to improve the quality of care for children and adults with a liver condition. We support patients and families and empower them to seek the care they need; our nurse-led helpline is a lifeline for patients, and we work with the NHS and other stakeholders to improve liver treatment pathways and patient outcomes. We are ambitious for growth, we are creating more conversations about liver disease and we need to reach and support many more people at risk of, and affected by, all liver conditions. You would be joining our team at a very exciting time for the charity.
