We're looking for a talented Individual Giving Manager to join our small team. The role will be responsibile for the delivery of our excellent supporter stewardship, care and retention programmes, whilst driving fundraising growth. 

The Individual Giving Manager will be responsible for the development and delivery of Women for Refugee Women’s (WRW) individual giving fundraising strategy, including through a variety of income streams such as regular gifts, High Net Worth giving, corporate support, events, and legacies; to develop and deliver WRW’s support engagement journey in order to generate income from individual donors and to develop strong and long-lasting supporter relationships; to oversee and develop our stewardship retention programme; and to contribute to WRW’s overall fundraising strategy and income generation.

Salary: £37-£42,000 per annum
Reporting to: Head of Finance
Contract: 35 hours per week (1.0 FTE). Part time also considered (minimum 21 hours per week (0.6FTE)

The role
 
This is an exciting role, to liaise and support partner organisations to ensure accounting records are complete, accurate, and up to date, coded correctly on UH’s cashbooks and reconciled against bank statements. You will also provide technical support to partners’ finance staff and train them on the use of the cashbooks and financial reporting to UH.
 
You will be educated to degree level and have experience in a fast-paced and complex finance role. You should have experience of working with technical accounting packages as well as experience in financial planning and monitoring.
 
The role is fast-paced and complex, and the ideal candidate will need to have proven inter-personal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to assess priorities, organise workloads and initiate action and problem solve.

We are looking for an experienced senior fundraiser who has demonstrable success in generating income through a range of income streams and prides themselves on compelling, engaging written communications for a range of audiences. Recently kicking off our new ‘Creating Positive Change Together’ strategy, coproduced by over 130 staff, volunteers, clients and partner, Groundswell has ambitious plans and a compelling model which in its simplest form promotes healthier lives and a better future for anyone who has experienced homelessness. 

The post-holder will have the opportunity to develop Groundswell’s next fundraising strategy, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), and particularly Finance & Fundraising Director who can bring a wealth of knowledge and insight from recent external and internal reviews of Groundswell’s fundraising portfolio. You will be a champion for the joined up working of fundraising and communications, with the ability to line manage a team and lead strategic plans to engage a range of current and potential donors (individuals, trusts, corporates) to diversify Groundswell’s income and ultimately help Groundswell continue to create positive change in the lives of people, services and systems on their mission to tackle homeless health inequalities.

About the oppurtunity:
You will help drive the quality and impact of our key stage 2 (KS2) and key stage 4 (KS4) maths tutoring programmes through subject-specific training of volunteer tutors, and by advising and supporting our (mostly) non-teaching staff members who manage these volunteer tutors day to day.

You will also observe and give feedback to volunteer tutors delivering maths tuition, and deliver general training for new volunteers, so that they are confident and effective in taking part in our tutoring programmes.

Specific responsibilities relating to the role:

Supporting the delivery of our maths curriculum: 

• Design and deliver online maths-focused training for volunteer tutors so that subject knowledge is secure within the tutor community.
• Provide advice and support, including some direct tutor communications, on subject-specific matters for Action Tutoring staff who manage volunteer tutors.
• Maintain existing tutoring GCSE and KS2 maths curriculum resources to ensure volunteer tutors have high quality materials to use in sessions.

Quality assuring tutoring delivery:

• Observe several virtual tutoring sessions a week. Make detailed and unbiased notes on tutor skills, craft empathetic constructive feedback in emails.
• Support our programme delivery team to craft communications and feedback to tutors.
• Produce ‘quality tips’ and resources for tutors and staff.
• Work with Action Tutoring’s volunteer engagement team to feedback trends so that the quality assurance process at the tutor application stage is as strong as possible.

Delivering volunteer tutor training:

• Support the Training Manager by delivering up to four virtual initial tutor training sessions a week during peak months, presenting Action Tutoring’s established training content.
• Support the Training Manager by contributing updates to tutor training content.
• Create content for tutor CPD materials to support with maths tutoring.

Qualifications criteria: 

• Qualified secondary school teacher of Mathematics
• At least two year’s teaching experience in English state schools with an understanding of the barriers facing disadvantaged pupils

About the role

We’re looking for a qualified Management Accountant with management accounting experience to join our Finance team.

This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate reporting of the charity’s income earned each month and to support in the forecasting of income for inclusion in the annual budgets and regular re-forecasts.

The role holder will provide explanations of variances to budget and/or forecast.

The role holder will work with the Income Operations, Income Generation and Finance teams to ensure processes around income are sufficiently robust to ensure the accurate reporting of income in the monthly management accounts and the minimisation of work to reconcile income received in the bank with income reported in the income statement.

The role holder will play an integral role in the successful implementation of the new finance system. Ensuring that the opportunities the new technology offers are integrated and that stakeholders see a noted difference in the reporting and analysis they receive from Finance.

What will I be doing?

No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.

• Work with the two Finance Business Partners and wider Finance team, in the preparation of monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Responsible for ensuring the accurate reporting of income in the monthly management accounts and in the annual report and accounts.
• Work closely with the Income Operations team in particular to ensure income is appropriately recorded in CARE (CRM system) and subsequently in Business Central (the new finance system).
• Preparation of templates used for budgets and forecasts and completion of budgets, as directed by the Finance Business Partner.
• Maintain KPIs each month, flagging trends identified which indicate risks and opportunities to budgets and forecasts to the Finance Business Partner and wider Finance team.
• Modelling of income and income scenarios to support project work and business cases.
• Build strong relationships within Finance and work with colleagues to promote and ensure positive collaboration across departments.

The Education Officer will enthuse young people and local communities about their local seas and amazing marine life through unique boat-based education experiences and innovative co-design education approaches. 

Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust (HWDT) is a marine conservation charity based on the Isle of Mull. This role is responsible for the development and delivery of HWDT’s new education project, Hebridean Marine Explorers - Connecting Scotland’s seas and communities.

The Education Officer will develop and deliver:

• a 12-week co-design project with schools resulting in a community exhibition

• a programme of digital school workshops

• boat-based floating classroom education workshops

• marine mammal research expeditions for young people

• community open boat events.

Educating young people on land and at sea is key to the role so we are seeking a confident, enthusiastic, organised self-motivator, familiar working with schools and young people, with outstanding communication skills. Experience of marine mammal surveys and the ability to identify cetacean species in the Scottish waters is also essential to the role.

We are looking for somebody experienced in teaching and delivering environmental education activities and training for young people, ideally with knowledge of co-design project delivery and its implementation within a primary school environment.

Our ideal candidate will have experience coordinating a funded project and the skills to provide effective communication, evaluation, and reporting against project targets.

The programme has successfully trained over 130 school chefs nationwide, from London to Yorkshire, the West Midlands to Cornwall. 

Our ultimate goal is that every school in the country has a person leading their kitchen who is a recognised food educator, playing a crucial role in shaping kids’ eating habits for life. 

Your role will be to deliver the School Chef Educator Programme both in-person and online to school kitchen workforces across the country, helping to inspire them to achieve higher levels of knowledge and standards of food quality. 

Supported by the Programme Manager, you will maintain and develop the online learning platform, design new and exciting training materials and learner experiences in order to maintain relevance and attract new customer bases across the school food sector.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Lead on the organisation and delivery of in-person and online training sessions to enrolled participants of the School Chef Educator Programme at a variety of locations

• Assist in the maintenance of the online database of participants, schools and funder information

• Manage, monitor and report learner progress to the Programme Manager

• Maintain, update and develop relevant training materials to keep our programme up to date

• Work with our evaluation team to monitor and survey the effectiveness of the training programme

• Design and refine the delivery of the core modules within our training programme as well as additional resources to support organisational objectives

• Lead on planning, scheduling  and delivering programmes, in a time efficient and cost effective manor

• Work with our Fundraising Team to keep them up to date with the latest progress on our training programmes, providing qualitative and quantitative evidence to share with charity funders

• Attend monthly ‘Innovation’ days to develop recipes and other resources, and support the Transformation team with delivery when required

• Support and work with the School Engagement Manager to ensure School Chef Educator Programme cohorts are filled

• Assist in the delivery of events outside of the SCE programme, including membership meetings, fundraising events, networking and wider organisational events

Essential skills & experience include:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to create clear, engaging, and accessible online learning resources

• Great people skills to quickly build rapport with learners from a wide variety of backgrounds and skill levels - striking a balance between being supportive and challenging 

• Excellent digital skills in order to manage participants' online progress and records

• Excellent presentation skills to deliver engaging in-person and live online training sessions

• Excellent organisation, scheduling and time management skills

• Some experience working in a catering or kitchen environment, ability to assist or lead the culinary training elements of the training programme

• Food Hygiene level 2 or 3 

Desirable skills and experience include:

• Experience in delivering well-structured and impactful in-person and online training sessions to a kitchen workforce or adult learners

• An understanding of the challenges and opportunities to working in school food and school catering work environments

• An understanding of hospitality, especially on how to deliver quality food and service within a budget

• Experience delivering multiple online training programmes across different geographical areas

• A full UK driving licence

The Role

​This post will operate at a national level alongside similar posts in the rail industry. It will seek to develop ties with all train operator and Network Rail communications team and will play a key role in delivering Samaritans messages at a national level.

This position will work across both the Network Rail Partnership team and the External Affairs team in order to provide dedicated focus, resource and specialist expertise – providing a conduit for these skills and colleagues in the rail sector.

Skills and experience you’ll need

In this role, you’ll need experience of working in a press office, PR agency, or similar role within a wider communications team or media outlet, having developed excellent communication and written skills, along with a good working knowledge of UK media landscape, a strong news sense and experience selling-in.

Working with stakeholders across the rail industry, you’ll have experience of influencing, negotiating and, ideally, partnership working. Warm, personable and friendly, you’ll have strong interpersonal skills and be able to build and maintain relationships with many different groups of people.

Highly organised and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines, you’ll be a self-starter with experience of successful project management. You’ll need compassion and resilience to work with exposure to incidents and stories that may be upsetting.

We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Honeypot Children’s Charity who are looking for a Corporate and Community Fundraising Executive responsible for maximising fundraising income from a pipeline of existing, and new, corporate partners and community groups.

With headquarters in London, and three respite houses situated in the South of England, Wales and Scotland, Honeypot supports young carers aged 5 to 12 years old, who perform a surrogate adult role as a carer for a loved one, often single-handedly, and whose wellbeing is at significant risk, leading to anxiety, isolation, poor confidence, and low self-esteem.

Reporting to the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will be responsible for growing support from businesses (currently 30 small corporates) plus local groups. You’ll manage existing partners and build new relationships to hit a £150K annual target. 

The successful candidate will:

• Have a minimum of two years’ experience in Fundraising
• Demonstrate strong relationship-building and networking skills.
• Have excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to deliver persuasive and dynamic presentations.
• Be analytical in approach to tracking performance and impact.
• Bring a creative approach, to create persuasive employee engagement and CSR campaigns, and exciting community events and fundraising campaigns that inspire support. 
• Ensure attention to detail and maintain accurate records of donor and sponsorship activities on CRM system with good working knowledge of MS Office
