The role

NEA has an exciting opportunity for a Training and Education Officer to support with the delivery of our accredited training and qualifications to stakeholders across the United Kingdom as well as develop and deliver our expanding education programme nationwide.

You will work across both the training and education teams to develop and deliver training courses and education workshops to frontline workers, volunteers and young people from a wide range of organisations, including local authorities, housing associations, voluntary and community groups, and commercial organisations.

Our training courses and workshops cover key issues associated with fuel poverty, fuel debt, affordable warmth, low-carbon technologies and practical energy efficiency advice. You will work alongside the training team to develop, design and deliver these engaging online and face-to-face courses and qualifications.  You will act as an examiner for all NEA qualifications, assist in the development of future assessment-based qualifications; and have the ability to identify new opportunities for training and assessment product development.

You will work closely with the existing education team to enhance the current education provision of the charity; you will develop and deliver education sessions in line with programme and funding needs. Delivery will include both Primary and Secondary school sessions as well as bespoke education sessions for care leavers, young carers, youth offenders and children soon to be attending university or college.

We are accepting applications from across the United Kingdom however, we are particularly interested in hearing from applicants in the Midlands, Yorkshire, and the North-East of England.

What you will need to succeed

You will possess a relevant training or education qualification and have recent, demonstrable experience in delivering adult training and or primary / secondary school sessions. Ideally, you will also bring experience in one or more of the following fields: energy, community development, debt or money advice, consumer issues, or housing.

With excellent communication skills and IT skills, you will be adaptable and bring a lot of energy to the team.  You’ll be brimming with ideas and enthusiasm and have a passion to deliver training and education to people from diverse backgrounds and the desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives.

You will be expected to deliver training and education sessions depending on organisational need, as well as occasionally delivery in wider England and Wales. This will require overnight stays and flexibility on the part of the post holder.

The role of Training and Education Officer will be part of the Development and Partnerships Directorate and the postholder will report to NEA’s Training Programme Delivery Manager.

Hybrid working is subject to necessary H&S and GDPR checks. Post holders must be resident within the UK and be able to provide their Right to Work in the UK.

• £31,068 - £35,836 (Points 18 -25) (plus £3,300 London Weighting if applicable). New appointments are usually made at the starting point of the scale.

We have an exciting role as a Fundraising Officer to join our small but ambitious fundraising team.  We are embarking on a significant capital redevelopment, and will raise income through trusts and foundations, individual donations and corporate supporters.

You will be responsible for supporting the Head of Fundraising with timely communications to both supporters and prospective donors, researching potential fundraising opportunities, maintaining the CRM system and reconciling fundraising accounts.

Project Information 
 

They provide refuge and community based (outreach) support to adults and children who are experiencing domestic abuse. Their services include: 

• Refuge (including both communal refuge and dispersed (Individual safe accommodation) which is offered to both women and men (dispersed only) with or without children who are fleeing domestic abuse. 

• Community based outreach support working with women and men living in the local community who are living with the impact of domestic abuse. 

• Specialist support for children who are of have experienced domestic abuse (both refuge and community based support are available). 
  

The Role 

No two days will be the same, so if you like variety this may be the ideal role for you! 

As a Children’s worker, you will provide structured support to children, young people and their families who have experienced domestic abuse. You will be confident liaising with stakeholders eg. schools, social care. You will also be responsible for completing a healthy relationship programme of work, Safety Planning, and Signposting children and families to appropriate support. 

You will be able to demonstrate working knowledge of safeguarding procedures for adults, children and responsibilities, in relation to information sharing including multi-agency working. In addition, you will be expected to effectively communicate sensitive and complex issues with a range of people and have the ability to manage your own case-load. 

Requirements 

You will recognise the impact domestic abuse can have on children, young people and their families, also have an understanding of risk assessing. In addition, the ideal candidates will: 

• Be friendly, approachable, and flexible. 

• Have great communication skills 

• Relevant numeracy and literacy qualification and knowledge of basic IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office packages) 

• Hard-working and a team player 

• Experience in Domestic Abuse preferred, but not essential.

As Training Officer, you will:

Be responsible for planning and delivering training and awareness-raising activities in relation to victims of crime in the Thames Valley.

You will deliver these to a range of audiences including Thames Valley Police, Criminal Justice agencies, educational facilities, community groups, and other statutory agencies and third sector organisations. Each training session will be tailored to your audience and some examples of training topics you will be focusing on are:

• Victim awareness (barriers to support, information on the Victims Code, promoting empathy and sensitivity etc.).
• Sexual Violence awareness
• Modern Slavery and Exploitation

The training will be delivered under the Thames Valley Victims First brand and you will spread awareness of how support can be accessed and what is available through your sessions.

You will lead on developing this new content for training in collaboration with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley. You will be consulting with stakeholders on their training needs and mapping emerging areas where further input is required. As part of the role, you will be responsible for developing the range of training programmes and keeping training materials up to date. You will maximise the use of social media accounts for training and will attend events and presentations to engage the local community and increase their knowledge on support for victims of crime. You will also work alongside both the RJ facilitator and volunteers in this area.

You will need to be able to work flexibly to accommodate the training requirements as well as experience of delivering presentations and structured training programmes and talks to a range of audiences. You will need to be IT literate and be effective with your communication.

This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. If you are unable to drive because of a disability please indicate this in your application in your personal statement so we can explore the feasibility of alternative arrangements. Travel will be required regularly across the Thames Valley in order to facilitate training development and delivery. Overall Purpose

The Office Administrator will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Foundation. This role is responsible for maintaining and developing administrative systems, both manual and digital, while supporting all core functions, including executive board, grant-making, fund development, and finance. You will be joining us at an exciting time as we reopen services that unfortunately closed due to the pandemic. As a coordinator, you will focus and lead on developing and delivering our community service across the East Riding of Yorkshire through drop-ins offering:

• practical hearing aid support
• information on hearing loss and tinnitus
• hearing checks

You will be responsible for co-ordinating up to 15 drop-in services and be able to recruit, train and manage a team of up to 30 volunteers to deliver the service across East Riding of Yorkshire.

You will: 

1. Coordinate our volunteering team to deliver a high level of service at our RNID Near You drop-in sessions.
2. Recruit volunteers across the East Riding of Yorkshire to strengthen existing sessions and open new sessions as required.
3. Work with NHS audiology to induct and train our volunteers to high standards.
4. Promote our sessions to ensure maximum engagement from local hearing-aid users.
5. Ensure all paperwork is processed correctly and reports to stakeholders are timely completed.

You want to make a difference in people’s lives and love to interact with various audiences, including volunteers, health & care professionals, and service users. You have experience managing your own workload and are able to work flexibly when required. You can motivate volunteers to assist clients with hearing aids sensitively, to give clear guidance and take into account individual wishes and health needs.

You are ready to work for a home-working organisation and have good IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications including Teams, Outlook, Excel, and Word. You will be able to recruit, train and manage a team of volunteers and deliver an excellent service across East Riding of Yorkshire. About the Role

As a Fundraising Officer (Individual Giving), your responsibilities will include providing essential admin support to the Fundraising Team, supporting the planning and delivery of scheduled mailings, managing supporter stewardship, and conducting research to support our current and future projects.

What you'll be doing:

• Supporting the delivery of our fundraising campaigns to raise money for the horses and ponies at our Sanctuary. This would include our annual calendar and our supporter newsletters.
• Supporting the growth of areas such as regular giving, gift aid and the marketing of our pony sponsorship scheme.
• Assisting with supporter thanking and stewardship, as required by the team.
• Helping to develop supporter journeys to inspire ongoing support for our cause.
• Maintaining up-to-date supporter records on our database, Donorfy.
• Supporting the Fundraising and Content team with current and future projects.

What you'll bring:

The Mare and Foal Sanctuary is the largest equine welfare charity in the South West peninsula dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of horses and ponies who have suffered neglect, abuse and trauma. We are seeking to recruit a Corporate Partnerships Development Officer to join our award-winning Corporate Partnerships team within our Income & Engagement directorate.
The Corporate Partnerships team is made up of three sub-teams: Account Management, New Partnerships and Strategic Change. This role will provide support to the New Partnerships and Strategic Change sub-teams.
The New Partnerships team manages a portfolio of potential new corporate partners across a range of sectors and industries. The team exists to build long term, high value and mutually beneficial partnerships with national companies.
The Strategic Change team act as trusted experts, helping corporate partners to identify challenges for their customers and staff affected by dementia and devise innovative solutions. By working alongside people with dementia, the team focuses on ensuring people with dementia are better supported across industries.

We are looking for a dedicated Advocacy Campaigns Manager to join our Advocacy team within Action Against Hunger UK's Operations department.  This is a great time to join our team as we broaden the reach of our public advocacy campaigns to a wider audience. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead on developing and delivering our advocacy campaigns strategy, and also supporting with policy and parliamentary work. Our advocacy and campaigns focus on tackling the key drivers of hunger – conflict, climate change, poverty and inequality – and promoting improved response.

On the campaigns front, this role means spending around three days on designing and delivering creative and engaging online campaign actions, in collaboration with skilled colleagues across teams, organizing campaign events and building the engagement of chef and food industry supporters in our advocacy. We are looking for a proactive Rent Services Partner to join the dynamic and friendly Rent Service Team, playing a key role in the organisation to support clients to rebuild their lives. This busy team processes Housing Benefit payments from 55 local authorities in the UK for up to 4000 St Mungo’s residents; and collect over £45 million in rent and service charge. 

In the role of Rent Service Partner, you will:

• Deliver a high quality rent collection and arrears recovery service, supporting our clients by working towards minimising rent arrears and maximising client income.
• Complete accurate court applications and present cases to court. 
• Oversee a busy and varied case load of rent arrears cases ensuring outcomes are achieved in a timely manner.
• Provide an accurate, sensitive and responsive rent account enquiry and information service.
•  Work closely with key stakeholders, being the lead liaison with Local Authorities for a designated caseload.

You will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. This allows for in person collaboration, team building, line management and other relationship building opportunities. About you

• Experience of working in a rent service, income collection or credit control team and overseeing a case load of rent arrears cases providing quality advice and support in a busy target driven role.
• Experience of presenting cases to court and knowledge of the court system and legal process relating to debt recovery.
